He came to the shelter with another dog when their owner was experiencing homelessness, and through it all, King has stayed cheerful and full of life. This handsome guy loves his toys—especially a good game of tug! Story
Rhea is a 4-year-old female Boxer who is spayed, vaccinated, house trained, and crate trained. Due to changes in our family structure and dynamic, we need to find her a new home. She is great with people, knows basic commands, and is an energetic, playful dog. She also loves lazy days and cuddling on the couch or in bed with owners, but she does fine sleeping in her own bed when asked. A PET-FREE HOME IS REQUIRED: Rhea has had issues with unprovoked aggression toward other animals (cats and dogs) in the home, so she must be the only pet. However, she typically plays well with other dogs at the park and on walks. She had littermate syndrome, which could contribute to her behavior towards pets in the home. She also has mild seasonal alopecia. Nightly melatonin helps and is a common cure. Please message me with a bit about your home and experience if you think you may be a good fit. Toys, feeding station, two beds, various blankets, and crate included. FREE to a good home.

Story
Rilee is an AMAZING dog. She is full of love, cuddles and more cuddles. She is high energy but also so so lazy. She is a BIG girl, and she definitely doesnt know it. She is the goofiest dog you will ever meet, she will have you laughing all day long. She is a good camper and adventure dog. She listens well, although she is skiddish and afraid of a new people and things initially. Because of another male dog in the home, she is caged a lot. This doesnt bode well with her energy or need for interaction. She has had some moments of aggression outside the home, and recently she has started to turn some towards Lola, my other female dog. It is unclear what triggers her, she is full of energy and I think she just gets overstimulated. Although she has never showed aggression towards humans, we have a toddler and with moments of being unpredictable, we have made the very tough decision to rehome. Rilee is so easy to love, contact me 3179992431 for more info and pics

Story
Ruster | 1.5 year-old Neutered Male Boxer Mix Ruster came to foster care in December after an urgent rescue from the shelter where he was shut down and struggling with stress. His journey hasn’t been easy—prior to rescue, Ruster spent 28 days on the loose before being safely contained by Peaceful Souls. Because of this history, secure handling and management are imperative for him. In a home setting, Ruster has shown himself to be a sweet, gentle, and quiet dog who truly wants to do well. He sleeps calmly in a crate all night and when left alone, has had zero accidents in his foster home, and will stand by the door when he needs to go out. He meets new people nicely, is not jumpy, and settles easily once he feels safe. Ruster enjoys car rides, quiet nature walks, and has even shown confidence in busier environments—successfully touring a large retail store and relaxing at a brewery with his foster parents. He’s playful in appropriate ways and loves tug-of-war and shredding stuffies. He is dog-social and does best with respectful, non-pushy dogs. Overly forward dogs can make him uncomfortable. Ruster is currently doing well with dog-savvy cats with slow, supervised introductions. Due to his background, Ruster is a flight risk and must always be walked using a correctly fitting martingale collar and/or a secure harness setup. He can pull on the leash at times, so an adopter who understands safety protocols and is committed to secure management is essential. Ruster is a sensitive, thoughtful dog who has proven that with structure, patience, and clear boundaries, he can thrive. He’s looking for a home that values management, advocacy, and calm leadership—and in return, he’ll offer quiet companionship, affection, and a deep bond. ##2614827##

Story
I am trying to rehome my boxer, Piper. She is about 8 years old and still very full of life. She would do best in a single person or retired couple home without young children or other pets. She is very jealous and wants to be the center of attention, preferably a man's attention. She does not do well with other dogs and has had altercations in the past with a dog in our extended family. We are sad to rehome her but she is not doing well with our growing family and we want her to be happy with a person who can dote on her. Current location is Indianapolis, IN.

🖤 Draco is ready for his forever 🖤 Draco is looking for an urgent foster or adopter! 🙏🏼 Draco isn’t only the loyal dog everybody wants, but he is determined to be your best friend for life no matter what. Dogs never seem to fail humans but yet so many are failed by owners. Draco is ready to have a furever home where he won’t be failed! Draco is a great dog who loves to snuggle on the couch with his person and give you plenty of kisses. He enjoys running outside and playing with his abundance of toys. He also enjoys a big backyard to run in when he gets the zoomies. Unfortunately many would look past him because of his coloring, but I think it makes him stand out even more. I have truly enjoyed taking care of this precious soul, he is such a joyful dog and will make someone very happy! He is hard of hearing so when you want to get his attention I either squeak a toy or I wave to him to come. This treat motivated boy will make the perfect dog for someone who is willing to give him the chance he needs. Quick facts ⬇️ •5 year old male pitbull •Dog friendly; cat selective •Fully vaccinated, microchipped, and fixed •Hearing impaired •Energetic and loves jolly balls •Loves to snuggle 📝 Foster application: https://form.jotform.com/secondchancespetsanctuarytx/Second-Chances-Foster-Application 📝 Adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/secondchancespetsanctuarytx/Second-Chances-Adoption-Application 📍 Currently being fostered in Fort Wayne, IN Foster or adopter in the Midwest needed! Story
Meet Georgie – Your Future Couch Cuddle Buddy! He is a 1 year old, 49.8 pound, APBT mix that was surrendered to the shelter. Georgie is a goofy, gentle soul with a heart that’s just looking for the right place to call home. After a rocky start in a chaotic environment, this sweet boy is finally starting to show his true colors – and let us tell you, they’re absolutely lovely.Georgie was originally found as a stray by his previous owners, who kept him for about five months. During that time, he lived in a very busy household with 7 other dogs—including 4 small ones—and 10 special needs children. It was a lot for a young dog to handle, and Georgie became understandably overwhelmed. He didn’t like sharing his food or toys and was constantly on high alert around the other dogs. The decision to surrender Georgie came after a difficult situation: some of the smaller dogs began attacking his legs, and Georgie, having been pushed past his limits, tried to defend himself. In an attempt to break things up, the owner laid their full weight on top of him—startled and frightened, Georgie reacted by biting. It was an unfortunate moment, but one that made it clear he needed a calmer, more structured environment to thrive. When he first arrived at the shelter, Georgie was very nervous and unsure of his new surroundings. During his 10-day bite quarantine, our team focused on helping him feel safe—and it wasn’t long before he became a staff favorite! With time, patience, and one-on-one attention, Georgie began to blossom into the sweet, sleepy, and silly boy he truly is. He walks beautifully on leash, takes treats gently, and loves hanging out with his favorite people.Georgie is now ready for a fresh start. He’s looking for a calm, predictable home—no small children, please—and may enjoy the company of a respectful dog friend who gives him space. What he really needs is someone patient and understanding, willing to offer him the second chance he so deserves.Despite his past, Georgie is all heart. He’s ready to trade shelter life for soft beds, peaceful mornings, and a loving home that sees the good boy he is.?? Could you be the calm to his chaos, the safe place he’s been waiting for?We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. Story
Meet Dewey!A 69lb, 11 year old APBT gentleman with a heart as big as you could imagine his story. Found roaming the streets with another dog, Dewey was brought to the shelter in rough shape—but even then, his gentle spirit shone through.Despite everything he’s been through, Dewey friendly and affectionate and greets people with a soft tail wag. With other dogs, he can be a bit selective, so he’d do best with careful introductions or as the only pup soaking up all the love.Dewey still has some pep in his step, but his age is beginning to show—his once-spry body now carries the signs of a long life lived, including visible wear and arthritis that can slow him down. Still, he faces each day with quiet resilience and an eagerness to share gentle companionship.Whether it’s exploring the yard, lounging in a sunny spot, or checking in for pets, he enjoys life’s simple joys. What Dewey needs most now is a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years feeling safe, cherished, and finally at peace. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only.
