We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. She’s a goofy, happy, loving girl and with just one look into those pretty doe eyes, your heart will melt! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Coming to us as a stray after entering his finder’s yard and chasing their cats, Davey is counting on his perfect family finding him! This 3 year old awaited our officer’s arrival in the arms of his finder, as he was perfectly pleasant, friendly and sweet with all the humans – even their child! Now the cats, that was a different story! He even got a few cat scratches, and rightly so, while he was actively chasing them! He had no ID, no chip and remained here on his stray hold with no family coming to claim him, so NOW he is searching for his perfect CATless family to find him and love him forever! Since he has been here, he met a similar sized spayed female and greeted her with nose-to-nose sniffs - to which her response was a precious play bow! Sweet Davey tried to emulate his friend’s gracefulness, and it was a play bow ‘bow off’! The playing ensued and it was a great meeting with his canine pal! We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for all. And we do NOT recommend a home with cats for this guy and for the cats in the home! We are a first come, first served and in-person adoption center and are located at 430 Bristol Drive in Statesville, NC. Molly was found emaciated and thought to have recently had puppies, on the side of a busy road by a concerned citizen. Molly’s finder and our responding officer both combed the area in which she was found for any sign of puppies, to which none were discovered. Molly was then recognized by another officer who knew where she and her owner lived, then both paid a visit! When the officers asked about Molly, they were informed that Molly had gotten lost when she pulled over to let her potty, never able to get her back into the vehicle, and ultimately fleeing into nearby woods. And yes, Molly had indeed had puppies - but all had been rehomed as she was not able to care for them. While she was relieved that Molly had been found, she was not able to provide care for Molly at this time. This was Molly’s previous life before coming to us… NOW we work to find the perfect family for her to spend forever with! Molly is 4 years old and this friendly girl has been a rockstar since arriving! She is amazing to get in and out of her kennel and has done great for all her exams! She met Kodiak - a similar to her in size neutered male, while she was more interested in leaving, their nose-to-nose interaction was filled with tail wags! We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for all.
