Today's adoptable dogs are a bonded pair, Luke and Lizzie! Luke and Lizzie are boxers that are around 9 years old. They came to us after their previous owner encountered medical issues that left her unable to continue to care for them. They are both a bit timid at first which is to be expected after suddenly having to leave the home they came to know and love. Although they seem reserved, they both are very sweet and will make some lucky person very loyal companions. Lizzie is the larger of the two. Due to their situation and their obvious bond to each other, we are only adopting these two to a home together. They are house trained and love laying in their crate together, however they don't require a crate when left alone. Please don't feel sad for them just because they seem to have sad looks in their eyes. They are happy to know they will always have each other, and will be blessed with a new perfect forever home to call their own. Meet Fred Available for Adoption Friends of Stanly County Animals Rescue Kannapolis, NC Fred is a handsome 4 yr old Boxer mix who weighs 58 lbs. Within the past few weeks, he has moved in with one of our inside fosters. He's doing really well. He loves to please and is doing great on his potty training. He is a very sweet dog. Even though he had always been an outside dog, he has learned how to be inside very quickly. He is very smart and has lots of energy...lots of puppy in him. A fenced yard would be great for him. He has learned to walk great on a leash. He would be a great dog for a runner! He is also a social butterfly! Never met a stranger. He loves everyone! He needs to be the only pet. Meet our newest puppy! Kirby! KIRBY is a bouncy, happy, vocal, loud 6 month old puppy. He is house broken as long as you pay attention to his door signal. He is crate trained for short amount of times and LOVES car rides! He's good with kids and dogs. He needs some help with manners as he doesn't know to give others their personal space. He doesn't welcome other dogs bossing him, so needs to be with submissive dogs. He can't wait to show the neighbors his newest finds from the yard. Simple things like pinecones and sticks are jewels to him! Kirby is a very good bed sleeper. Very still and doesn't get up during the night. Sweet Bea, a three year old boxer mix, who came to the shelter heart worm positive, with pyometra, and just in bad shape. She was immediately spayed, just finished up her heartworm treatment and is ready to start looking for the family that she so deserves to love her. Bea is very human friendly, loves everyone she meets and loves to play. We would suggest older children since she is very playful and large enough to knock down and accidentally hurt a small child. She does need to be the only dog. She gets aroused around new dogs to the point she turns to aggression.
