This is Willie. He is a Boxer mix puppy. He was a stray brought to the shelter by Animal Control. The shelter was completely full, so this pup needed to be rescued. Story
Milo is a distinguished gentleman, and he has exceptional house manners. He is completely house-trained, respects bed/ couch rules, sits for meals, never jumps on people, is completely trustworthy when left alone, is patient and sweet with both kids and adults, and is a very, very quiet guy. He is clean and fit, and his handsome brindle coat and bouncy trot bring comments wherever he goes! Milo enjoys time in a fenced yard, though he is just as happy to wander the neighborhood and enjoy all the smells on leash. Milo is used to being an only dog, but is friendly with other dogs he meets while on walks. Most of the time, he can be found on one of his dog beds, preferably in a sunbeam, just happy to be near his people. His cutest feature is the occasional happy dream barking he does when fast asleep! Please let us know if you would like to meet Milo! HART Homepage: https://hart90.org/ Questions About this Animal? Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Dash! 🐾 The puppy with the BEST BOXER LIPS! Look at those smoochie jowls! Dash is a 11-month-old bundle of fun weighing about 64 pounds—and we think he’s going to be a big boy when he’s fully grown! This playful pup definitely lives up to his name and loves to zoom around the yard, wrestle with his doggy friends, and show off his impressive toy collection. Dash is a social butterfly with other dogs and would absolutely love a playful canine sibling to romp around with (though it’s not required). After a good play session, he’s just as happy to settle in for some cuddle time with his favorite humans. Because he’s young and eager to learn, Dash will need an adopter who is home a good portion of the day to continue his training and help him grow into the best boy he can be—no exceptions. Dash would do best in a home without cats or young children, where he can safely burn off his puppy energy and keep building his manners. If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate, and playful companion who will keep you smiling (and maybe a little more active!), Dash might be your perfect match. 🐕💨 Dash is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and neutered. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $400.00. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Angel! Angel is an 8–9-year-young, 45-pound Boxer/Bulldog/Terrier mix with the sweetest, calmest, most loving personality. After years of neglect, Angel came to rescue with skin and eye infections, but with lots of care, her infections have cleared, her fur has grown back beautifully, and she’s now ready for her forever home. Angel was born with knee issues that limit her mobility, so she can’t do long walks, but she is not in pain and doesn’t let it dampen her spirit. She enjoys slow strolls, relaxing in the yard, sniffing around, and soaking up the sun. Because of her mobility needs, Angel would do best in a home with a fenced yard where she can safely explore at her own pace. Angel is wonderful with other dogs and people of all ages, including children. She enjoys playing with the other dogs in her foster home and would love a doggy friend in her forever home. Angel is on monthly medication and prescription food to keep her skin clear and healthy. Angel is spayed and she is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. The Adoption Fee is $300.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. ***AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTERING OR FOSTER TO ADOPT OPTION*** Sassy is the BEST dog for a family with children, babies or toddlers! She loves kids and is fostered with little ones! Sassy is a fun-loving 1-year-old pup weighing about 38 pounds. We think she may be a Boxer/Pit mix, but that's just our best guess! This goofy girl loves making people smile and is wonderful with babies, toddlers, and young children. She's always up for an adventure, a game in the yard, or simply soaking up attention from her favorite humans. Sassy is dog-friendly and cat-friendly. While she enjoys socializing and playing with other dogs, she would be happiest as the only dog in her home, where she can soak up all the love and attention from her family. She can happily have dog friends and playdates—she just prefers not to share her home full-time with another pup. She is housetrained and crate trained. Sassy has also been working with one of our best trainers and has made wonderful progress—she's a smart girl who is eager to please! Sassy is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. She's ready to bring lots of love, laughter, and tail wags to her forever family. ❤️ Adoption Fee: $375 🏡💕 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Story
ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Marshall – A Sweet Senior Still Waiting for His Second Chance 🤎 Marshall—known lovingly by staff as “Marshy” or “Marshmallow”—has been waiting longer than most, and it’s hard not to feel how deeply he deserves to finally be home again. After spending 8 years in a loving, structured home, Marshall found himself back in the shelter system, and the sudden change was overwhelming for him. Kennel life has been especially hard, and his anxiety grew to the point where he now spends his days in the quieter break room at the farm, where he feels more comfortable and settled. And yet, even after everything, Marshall remains the same gentle, loving soul he’s always been. At his core, Marshall is a sweet, affectionate boy who just wants to be near his people. Once he feels safe, his personality begins to shine in the most endearing ways. He’s goofy, expressive, and full of quiet charm—the kind of dog who makes you smile without even trying. Marshall loves car rides, happily curling up in the back seat before eventually popping his head up to feel the wind on his face through an open window. He enjoys his naps, leans in for every bit of affection he can get, and has a funny, endearing habit of “talking” to his people when he’s feeling happy or engaged. He’ll roll around with his toys, soak up scratches (especially his favorite booty rubs), and even entertain himself by rolling toys down little hills just to chase them again. There’s a playful, silly side to Marshall that still comes out when he feels safe—and it’s one of the most beautiful things about him. What Marshall needs now is simple, but deeply important: a calm, loving home where he can feel secure again. A place where he can finally exhale, rebuild trust, and enjoy the comfort of belonging. He has already given so much of his heart in his lifetime. He’s just waiting for someone willing to give theirs back. Marshall is a senior, and no senior dog should have to spend their golden years in a shelter. To help him find the family he so deeply deserves, his adoption fee has been waived and he is part of our REWARDS program. Somewhere out there is a soft place for Marshall to land. We just need someone to see him. Marshall is spending some time in a foster home. This is what his foster says about him: It takes Marshall very little time to warm up to new humans. He is eager to trust and show his affectionate, goofy side. He is a quiet and easy guest. While other dogs can make him nervous, he is easy to guide past dogs we encounter on walks. If a dog barks at him, he will bark back but also easily walks by. ESTIMATED WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 65 pounds. KNOWN WITH DOGS: Marshall is picky about his dog friends and would do best as the only dog in the home. KNOWN WITH CATS: Marshall is not a fan of cats so we think a home without them would be best. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Kids can make Marshall nervous and he would like to find a home where he can be the only child. KNOWN CUES: Sit, Down, Wait, Come, Crawl, Touch, Spin, Wait, Leave it KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Marshall is housebroken and does well when left alone. KNOWN LIKES: Love and attention, Toys, Food, Walks, Car rides, People, The Park KNOWN DISLIKES: Thunderstorms ___________________________________ If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: trailshomefarm@homewardtrails.org PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ LOCATION:Trails Home Farm ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Trails Home Farm HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: All dogs located at Trails Home Farm are in Delaplane, VA and require an appointment for approved applicants to have a meet and greet. ADOPTION FEE: Adoption Fee: WAIVED! We thank DoodyCalls of Northern Virginia for their generous sponsorship of Marshall which means he is FREE! His adoption fee has been sponsored by DoodyCalls of Northern Virginia! You can learn more about them at https://www.doodycalls.com/northern-va/. I'M ALSO PART OF THE REWARDS PROGRAM. WE WILL ALSO PAY MY FOSTER OR ADOPTER $500. HT has a number of dogs that need very special homes. These dogs have been failed by humans along the way, leaving them homeless and with issues from their treatment. We'll be honest. Some of them are real jerks. But not always. And not to everyone. Not everyone can be charming ALL the time, right? Others are just fearful and don't like other animals because they have had a bad interaction at some point. Some of them love other dogs but are just plain scared of everything. But all of them are good on the inside. And we believe that ALL of them deserve a chance at life and love. And we're looking to find the right human out there to make that happen. But competition is tough. And they're up against small, well-behaved doggies...so we are offering incentives for special humans willing to give these pooches a chance. WE WANT YOU! ***We are paying $500 to any approved foster or adopter of our REWARDS dogs.*** The human will also get ongoing training support, all supplies covered and a $25 Amazon gift card each month for 6 months. You will learn and grow. You will be doing a world of good for a dog who has really had it rough in life. ------------- HT ADOPTION INCLUSIONS: -Spay/Neuter -First 3 distemper series vaccines and dewormings -Rabies vaccine* age appropriate at time of adoption -Microchip - lifetime with no registration fees -Current on heartworm preventative -Current on flea/tick preventative ---- EXCLUSIVE HTAR ADOPTER BENEFITS: -$15 off your first chewy order of $49.00 or more -Exclusive pet insurance offers - $250 coverage at any VCA Hospital in the country -COMPLIMENTARY FIRST EXAMS at 10 DC-Area veterinarians - Free year-round dog training - KEEP YOUR PET SAFE: Homeward Trails is proud to offer PetLink GPS trackers that will allow you to know where your pet is in real time.**Exclusive for HT Adopters (does not include subscription plan): $50 Check it out here: https://landing.petlink.net/gps-dog-tracker -A portion of EVERY ADOPTION FEE supports spay/neuter efforts in under resourced communities -Free doggy day care offers -EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNTS for Homeward Trails events and merchandise -Win a $50 Amazon gift card
