Story
Finnegan is a goofy and utterly loving/devoted dog. He’s originally a rescue from NC and has lived in DC for the last 4 years. He loves rolling in meadows, lounging, and being around people. We are looking to rehome Finn because he needs a different environment from what we can offer. He was badly abused before he came to us and has fairly severe anxiety/reactivity to noises and other sudden stimuli. We have a new baby in a small apartment and unfortunately Finn is too much on top of that. He also has reactivity to some (but not all) dogs, though he has gotten much better on walks with training over the years. Finn currently takes several medications for his anxiety and receives care from the Animal Behavior Wellness Center in Fairfax. We think Finn would do well in a full-sized home that is quiet and has space/a backyard for him to run around. Finn is a sleepy angel 95% of the time but also loves playtime, and needs someone who can commit to continued training and anxiety management

Likes:Walks, riding in the car, playing at the dog park Hey there, Im Harry! Im a happy go lucky goofball, on the lookout for my forever family! My foster says Im a real comedian, and its true! I love making people laugh. Some of my best acts include rolling around the room dramatically, throwing my own toys and chasing them, and showing off all my tricks. I already know sit and down and paw! Plus, I have great manners. I dont beg, or jump on people, or bark, and I do a great job walking on leash. I also do great in my crate! I love meeting new friends, and to me every organism I encounter is a new potential friend! I play really well with other dogs, and Im super friendly and gentle with people. One of my favorite ways to show how ready I am to make friends is to roll over on my back to get tummy rubs. I love getting pets from everyone! Another funny thing about me is that I like to make my opinions known. I dont bark, but my foster says Im very expressive. I have a full repertoire of facial expressions and funny noises. Whether its snorting or grunting, or sighing, I love to be part of any conversation, and like to let people know how Im feeling. Story
Hi, I'm Hogan! Im a sweet, cuddly guy whos always ready to brighten your day. Whether you need someone to lean into your legs for a hug after a long day or a buddy to make you laugh with my playful spirit, Im your guy. I bring just the right balance of fun and calm wherever I go, and I'm super cute to boot! Anyone I meet falls in love with my friendly, gentle nature and I can't wait to share that love with a forever family of my own! Recently, I got to go on a doggy day out with a volunteer, and I had a blast! My private tour guide...I mean the volunteer, said that my tail never stopped wagging the entire time! I walk really nicely on leash and rarely pullunless I spot another dog up close, in which case I really want to go sniff and say hi! Anybody in my line of vision is a potential new friend! I'm totally unbothered by city noises, and I love all people, from babies on up! I also love snacks and treats, and I already know how to sit. I recently learned about ice cream, and I'm a huge fan of that too! My tour guide was very impressed by how polite I was. Once I finished my treat, I didn't give hers a second glance, and was content to just lay down in the grass and enjoy the smells while she took forever and a half to finish eating. I'm doing amazing with the other dogs at daycare, and Id love to have a doggy sibling. I moved to D.C. with my sister, and she already got adopted, so now it's my turn to find my forever family! I'm going to go out on a limb here, and guess that you're looking for a super quiet, laid back boy who will stay by your side, through ice cream dates, city sight-seeing, hikes, and more. Am I right?? Well then what are you waiting for?? I check all those boxes and more, so apply to adopt me today! Story
Stella is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Stella is one of the most low maintenance fosters I've ever had the pleasure of helping find a forever home. From being a shy, scared, and timid girl to being confident, secure, and well-mannered, Stella has grown so much in the 2+ years I've known her; although the vacuum cleaner is still enemy #1. Stella has lived in all types of settings: in a busy city, in an apartment, on a quiet street, with dogs, with reactive dogs, and easily adapted to her home environment. She is crate trained and LOVES having a bed in her crate to curl up into a donut while you're at work. She knows every basic command like sit, down, touch, stay and is fully potty trained. Stella's favorite toy is a lambie, or something else that is tiny that she can carry around in her mouth. Once, she took care of an egg for 6 hours before it broke, she's the most gentle creature. Stella is made of love and French fries. There's nothing more that she wants than to be inside with her people, cuddled up on the couch with a show, or playing sous chef in a calm kitchen. She takes awhile to warm up to her people, but with some french fires (her favorite is Burger King), some space, and a bit of patience, she'll love you unconditionally and will likely knock you over from wagging her tail and wiggling so hard with excitement every time she sees you. Although Stella is a perfect girl in the home, on leash, and with other dogs, she is scared of human strangers, especially masculine presenting people, and will need a strong advocate to help keep her safe. If you're looking for a great addition to your calm and cozy life with unconditional love to give, Stella is the gal for you. Stella would do best living with queer folks, a home without cis-gendered men, without cats, and without small children. ATTRIBUTES: Stella has lived in foster with other dogs, but can not go to a home with kids, cats, or cis-gendered men. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. We strive to provide accurate information on all of our animals however, we are unable to guarantee an animal's breed, size, health, behavior, temperament, or any other conditions. Our adoption fees are not inclusive of all vetting / medical care, food, supplies and/or training costs. Story
Meet Bones, the pint sized (at 42lbs) lovable snuggler with a heart of gold! Whether you’re reading a book, cooking in the kitchen, or just relaxing at home, Bones is always by your side—ready to be your loyal companion. He’s an expert sous chef who’s happy to assist in any food prep (especially if it involves treats), and when it comes to fashion, he’s most likely to win the "Best Dressed" award, effortlessly rocking a cozy sweater. Bones is crate trained and house trained, making him an easygoing homebody who enjoys the quieter side of life. He’s perfectly content lounging with his people or taking peaceful walks to show off his good leash skills. While he loves his family and welcomes guests with a wagging tail, Bones tends to keep a low profile when out in the neighborhood, preferring to keep his distance from strangers. Though he’s curious about other dogs, Bones is still figuring out the best way to make doggy friends. But rest assured, he’s always entertaining his people—his foster mom says, “He is a RIOT! The funniest dog we've had. He's truly a delight!” If you're looking for a snuggly, charming, and slightly quirky companion, Bones might just be your perfect match! Story
Don't get lost in those beautiful brown eyes! Sweet girl Kaejah loves spending time with her people more than anything, and going on walks to roll around in the grass comes at a close second! As a pup who not only loves to play a mean game of tug of war (followed by some victory laps, of course) but who also is the biggest snuggler ever, she really is the best of both worlds. Kaejah is currently on daily medication for a seizure disorder, but that doesn't stop her from being her happy and loving self! This sweet couch potato is 3 years old. While she is quite youthful, she has a gentle demeanor, and she's done well living with human foster siblings as young as 4 months old. She's a quick learner with training and continues to impress her foster parents with how much she is blossoming! So, what do you say? Have room for a smushy-faced, brown-eyed girl?
