Story
We have a special boy to introduce to the families and couples out there wanting a truly special older pup that is totally trained and waiting to love you to pieces. True Blue Toby is a 10 month old Boxer mix puppy that was found as a stray and not in the best shape.  In fact he looked terrible and we felt so bad for this boy to have suffered for so many months.  Once he came to our care we got to work on clearing up hair loss and getting him healthy from those pesky intestinal worms and putting good weight on him.  Gosh Toby is the best boy with a wonderful personality that embraces everyone with love and the anticipation to become steadfast friends.  Shy at first, this boy has blossomed and is Mr. Outgoing in every way.  He just wants to hang out with his humans and love them with full gratitude for making him such a healthy boy.  Housebroken, crate trained and wonderful with other dogs and cats, he is the truly total package if you are looking for a medium sized dog.  He is going to be a 50 pound adult and what a handsome Boxer mix boy he is turning in to.   Email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue :   ccrnewengland@gmail.com   We know will be glad you considered this boy as your very own. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 29, 2024, 9:05 pm

Story
Sweet Rosie girl was found as a stray. The woman who found her tried desperately to find her owner but to no avail. We believe she was dumped, as it is very common here in the south. The woman brought her here to the rescue and she is doing extremely well with all the dogs and puppies and even like the cats and the children who visit. We believe she is approximately 5 months. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and she is also crate trained. She is full of energy and would do very well with a house full of kids! She appears to be a Boxer/Hound mix of some sort, pretty much a Super Mutt! Wouldn't you love to add her to your family? She will be ready for transport by the middle of May PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $650

Story
Female, 14 months old, 37lbs Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, kids House trained: Mostly with an occasional accident Energy level: Moderate Noise level: Quiet Hey there, potential forever family! I'm Giblet, a spirited pup with a heart full of love and a tail that wags at the speed of light. I might still be a work in progress, but I promise my positive traits make up for it! Let me start by telling you about my favorite things. Toys are my absolute jam, especially if it involves a game of fetch. The thrill of chasing after a ball and bringing it back to you? Count me in! Cuddling is another top-tier activity for me—I love snuggling up with my hoomans after a day of play. Dog parks are like my second home; I thrive on the joy of running around with other doggos, making new pals in the process. I'm a sweet and loving girl. I'm a pro at crate training, and you won't find me tearing up the house when left alone. The city noises don't faze me, and I'm always curious to explore my surroundings. Leash skills are a bit of a challenge for me, but I'm making huge progress every day. I've already mastered multiple basic commands, including sit, place, come, and heel. I'm a smart cookie! As for my schedule, I'm a creature of routine. Morning walks, midday strolls, and evening adventures—it's all in a day's play for me. I'm mostly housetrained, but I might have a tiny accident now and then—nobody's perfect, right? Let's talk about my energy level; I'd say it's moderate. I love being active but can also be your cozy couch potato companion. I'm not a barker; in fact, I'm pretty quiet, and I get along well with other dogs. Cats? I'm not sure, and kids are an unknown territory for me. In terms of compatibility, apartments are totally my scene—no need for a yard here. I'm a good passenger in the car, too; road trips, anyone? In a nutshell, I'm a playful, affectionate, and intelligent gal who's ready to fill your life with joy and tail wags. With a bit more training and a whole lot of love, I'll be the perfect addition to your pack. So, what do you say? Ready to embark on this adventure together? I can’t wait to find my forever home where I can share all the love I’ve got to give! My foster guardian says: “ Giblet is a sweet and loving girl who always wants to be near her hoomans.” Likes: Toys (fetch), cuddling, dog parks, playing with other dogs Dislikes : Nothing, really! My ideal home: I’m flexible and will adapt to my owners lifestyle! Adoption Application : http://bit.ly/adoptrdr Foster Application :  https://rdr.formstack.com/forms/foster_app My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Story
Female, 2 years old, 68lbs Good with: Dogs Not tested with: Cats, kids House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Some  Hey there, I'm Gabby, the bubbly mixed-breed pup with a hop in my step and a heart of gold! With my soft speckled white and tan fur and soulful yellow/brown eyes, I'm quite the charmer. Despite a shoulder injury in my past, I've mastered a unique hop-like gait that sets me apart from the rest. When it comes to manners, I've got them down pat - no accidents in the house, and I prefer to savor my meals rather than scarf them down. Now, let's talk about my absolute favorite thing: morning walks! There's nothing that gets me more excited than exploring the world outside. Walks don’t have to be limited in time or distance, as far as my foster mom can tell: I have the same energy and enthusiasm as any other dog. I'm a social butterfly, but sometimes I can get a tad too enthusiastic, especially around smaller or senior pups. I prefer smaller playgroups and may get overwhelmed in crowded dog parks. My second favorite thing has to be car rides. I don't care where we're going: I will enthusiastically hope up into the car and sit calmy in the back seat looking out the window, smelling all the smells. Just don't roll the window down all the way or else I might try to hop out! I love going on any and all adventures. I'm the perfect companion to bring anywhere. Despite my injury, I'm quite the active pup! I love playing with toys, and you might catch me zooming around the yard with one in my mouth. I also love a good game of fetch and will always bring the toy/ball back to you. I might even surprise you with how high I can jump! I even recently mastered going up and down a full flight of stairs! When it comes to affection, I'm all in! I absolutely adore cuddles and scratches: but I never beg for them, just gladly accept them. I'll also keep you company while you work from home while I lounge on the couch. Separation anxiety? Well, I might whine a bit when you leave in the crate, but with a distraction like a tasty treat and some background noise, I'll be just fine and quiet down quickly. Oh, and there's one thing I'm not too fond of: bikes. They make me bark and lunge, but cars and trucks? No problem at all! I could use some training on basic commands like "sit" and "down" and also some leash work. I am overly interested in squirrels and other small animals, and my gate makes it harder for me to regulate my speed so as a result, I pull a little bit, but with some time and training I can be a leash walking pro! So, if you're looking for a well-mannered, affectionate companion who's always up for an adventure, look no further than yours truly, Gabby. I can't wait to hop into your heart and home! My foster guardian says: Gabby is the absolute sweetest pup and is the perfect mix of active outside but calm and affectionate inside. Despite the injury, her bunny-like gate makes her the star of the show on walks and at the dog park: people think it’s absolutely adorable and I’d have to agree. If you’re looking for a sweet little mix breed, look no further than Gabby! Likes: Toys, bones, scratches, sunbathing, morning walks, lounging on the couch Dislikes : Bikes, lots of dogs at once My ideal home: I am pretty flexible and would be happy in a variety of homes! Please contact Melissa A Aten (melissaa@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet, sweet pup looking for love HAZEL NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!     Name: Hazel     Best Guess for Breed: Boxer and lab mix      Best Guess for Age:  2.5 years as of February 2024      SEX:  Female   Estimated Weight:  60 pounds    Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen Hazel with cats or kids but she can be tested   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Hazel is Looking For: My forever home! I was adopted as a puppy but unfortunately my family couldn't keep me so I'm back on the market for a new forever family! I love going to the dog park, so I hope my new family will take me there so I can run and play with other pups. I'd also love to go on lots of walks to get to know my new neighborhood. What do you say? Are you my fresh start?   What My Foster Says About Me: Hazel is just one big bundle of love. She has the softest fur and is pretty gentle for her size. She is the sweetest and happiest girl. She loves her people SO much and wants to spend as much time as possible with us. She loves to play with our 2 resident dogs and is starting to learn their signals for when they’ve had enough and want to rest. She is very gentle on walks and only pulls when she gets excited by seeing a squirrel. She is quite happy to just explore outside. We’ve taken her to the dog park and she absolutely loves it following all the dogs around while simultaneously checking to make sure her humans are still there. She is doing well with her house training and has only had accidents when she is overly excited that we came back home. She sleeps well in the crate when she knows you are there. She is extremely food motivated and has already learned sit/down and she will go in her a crate to get a treat/meals. She is not a big fan of being crated at home alone but we are working on it! Overall she is the sweetest, cuddliest, goofiest, and loving pup and she would be an amazing addition to your life!  Check out how Hazel’s been doing on her Instagram page: @findmyfureverhome_dc   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.    TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online HERE .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. I'm King. I am loving, loyal, and - ok, you made me say it - very handsome. Oh, and did I mention that I am looking for a best friend to adopt me? I like leash walks, especially in calm and quiet spaces where we can spend some quality time together without the crowds. But, I may get distracted by all of the wonderful smells because I really do need to put my nose on everything to explore the wonders of the world. Not only am I curious, I am up for a challenge! I like to run across streams, jump on logs, and hike the trails. I have lots of energy so will be sure to help keep up with your exercise plan. I even like to get in a jog from time to time. And, not to brag, but I am pretty smart. But, for the sake of all those delicious treats, I will pretend that it takes me time to master new tricks and skills. One more thing to tell you. I like to talk when I play. I hope you will come to meet me so we can play together forever, just you and me!

Mr. Bean loves everyone and everyone loves Mr. Bean.  He is a 5 year old, male boxer mix who loves walks, belly rubs, treats, and people.  He  was in a foster home with cats at his prior location and was greatly loved by his foster mom but not by the cats, so she reluctantly decided it would be best to try to rehome him.  Walkers report that he doesn't pull a lot on the leash and is medium- energy.  He loves to get pets and to cuddle with everyone he has met!  On walks, he likes to sniff but is not reactive to cars, squirrels, or other dogs.  This good boy certainly deserves a forever home where he can relax, be loved, and give lots of love back.    PAW places animals in the Washington, DC/Baltimore metropolitan area only.          ##2004529##

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. SCOOBY is a big boy...at least 66#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...so he is almost 4 yrs old. He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but he is exuberant and easily intimidates smaller dogs. He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog. He loves everyone and just wants to play. He has not had in-house training...in a shelter with lots of dogs, the big ones don't necessarily get the royal treatment. He has been leash-trained and loves to go on walks. After he get rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks gently on the leash. I do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will chase. He sees them as lots of fun. Scooby would be great with a family with older children. Smaller ones would probably get knocked down during playtime. He needs a home with large back yard, I would not recommend him for an apartment. Check out our YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/KD9BUCFmQCs This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Taz just turned 5 years old! I acquired him from the Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) in Washington, DC. My schedule and capacity to support his needs has dwindled recently and I believe he deserves a home where he can have more space to play, run around, and be supported by a loving family. Taz is very affectionate, gentle and fully of energy before he gets his daily exercise. He is best suited for someone with a backyard and experience with his breed.
