Nova is a beautiful Cane Corso puppy with a strong, protective personality. She is very loving with her people and has a lot of potential with the right training and structure. She is still a puppy, so she will need continued training, socialization, and an experienced owner who understands large/guardian breeds. She is playful, smart, and full of energy. She does best with proper boundaries and supervision, especially around other pets during feeding time. With consistent training, she can grow into an amazing, loyal companion. Meet SCARLETT Scarlett was on the euthanasia list and had already been granted three extensions…she had run out of time! She arrived at the shelter after what appears to have been a very hard life. Having had multiple litters, she was emaciated, in pain, and understandably scared. The shelter can be overwhelming for any dog, but especially for one who has never known true safety or comfort. And yet… Scarlett chose kindness. Despite everything she has endured, she is gentle, sweet, and lovable. Her foster family describes her as a happy, affectionate girl who loves playing with the other dogs and absolutely adores her people. She is a total love bug who will roll right over for belly rubs any chance she gets. This darling girl has put on some healthy weight and the pain medications are giving her much needed relief. Scarlett is a beautiful Cane Corso, approximately 4 years old, with so much love to give. As part of her initial care, X-rays revealed some orthopedic abnormalities. We have an appointment coming up with an orthopedic specialist this week, where we can better understand what she needs and create the best plan for her moving forward. She would do best with a family who can offer patience, love, and a commitment to her continued care as we learn more about what she may need. But her real superpower? Loving her humans BIG. Indie is a total people-girl who will happily follow you from room to room like your very own adorable assistant… except her only job is cuddles. And speaking of cuddles—get ready. Her signature move is the full-body wiggle greeting followed by an immediate flop for belly rubs. No warm-up required 😂 Indie also has a soft spot for her stuffies—she carries them around like prized possessions (and somehow doesn’t destroy them… we love a gentle queen 👑). She’s been great with kids and other dogs, making her the perfect addition to just about any loving home. Right now, she’s in school (yes, she’s a smart girl!) working on her basic commands, leash skills, and polishing up potty and crate training. She’s sensitive, eager to please, and takes corrections like a champ—basically the dream student. What can we say about our sweet, handsome Tiki Boy? SO MUCH! We’ve had this dapper 2 year-old Cane Corso/Dane/Bully mix in rescue for about 8 months now and he is barely recognizable from the dog we saved from the euthanasia list. Tiki was dumped at the shelter, and we don’t think he ever knew life outside of a backyard or that humans could be kind before we took him in. When we met Tiki, he avoided eye contact and human touch, wouldn’t hold his head up, and was scared of every little thing (even the wind). While in foster, he’s been exploring the world and gaining confidence each day, and, most importantly, learning what it means to have the safety and love that he deserves. He has truly blossomed and is showing us more and more each day that he is a super silly and affectionate giant puppy dog. Tiki is best friends with his 130-pound mastiff foster sister and would love a home with another doggy friend to play with! He is respectful and kind with his foster cat sibling too! He is gentle and sweet with his six-year old human foster sister as well, and we think he’d do excellently in a home with older kids. This pup is an active boy and a guardian breed who needs an owner who is committed to meeting his exercise needs (he’s a great running/biking partner!), continuing his socialization, and respecting his boundaries. These dogs may be slow to warm up, but they are incredibly loyal and protective of their pack, and the love they give is truly something special once you have it! Tiki is waiting patiently for his forever family at his foster home in Sacramento and he would love to meet you to see if it’s a match.
