Story
This is Apollo, he’s such a friendly dog, he gets attached and clingy at times he enjoys being pet more then toys, he does well with all kind of animals. He loves dog walks, the lake, big dogs to play with, car rides, and little adventures. He likes being an inside dog more than outside and he’s also crate trained, and he’s been professionally trained in the past. I also lost his papers unfortunately. If your looking for a chill dog to add to your family Apollo would be a great addition!

NOTE:Submit the adoption interest application directly at our HSNB website:https://www.hsnb.org/dog-adoption-applicationWe may not receive anything submitted through PetFinder or Adopt-A-Pet! If you do not receive confirmation from us, email adoptions@hsnb.org .-----Meet BOSA! ❤️ What a love! BOSA is a 1 1/2 year old Cane Corso with a lot of energy and a mind for curiosity. BOSA is still learning to walk on leash, and he does jump and pull, because he is just a puppy in a giant's body. He doesn't know "sit" yet but one volunteer discovered that if you gently rub the big guy from the back of his neck all the way down his back to his tailbone, he will sit for you, (almost) every time. BOSA will require an adopter with plenty of breed and training experience, because he's a sweet boy, but he's also a powerful breed. He needs a patient, confident, and active home that will dedicate time to positive-reinforcement training to help him channel his big puppy energy into becoming a well-mannered gentleman.Because BOSA is so new to the shelter, we will add more details as we get to know him better. But for today, BOSA just wanted to say, hello! Primary Color: Brown Brindle Weight: 70 Age: 1yrs 8mths 2wks

Story
***Special Needs Dog*** Romeo is a stunning, sweet, goofy boy with luscious jowls and the most soulful eyes you've ever seen. True to his name, this boy is 100 percent pure LOVER. He loves to be snuggled and pet and he just melts hearts wherever he goes. Despite his young age, Romeo is a gentle boy with medium energy. He has tested well with small dogs, most big dogs, kids, and even ignores cats. He came to us quite underweight and still needs to gain some more - he should probably be around 115 or 120. Sadly, Romeo has a neurological condition that causes him to walk a bit like a drunk old man and fall down somewhat frequently. His prognosis is unclear. The neurologist at UC Davis believes the condition could be related to a rare infection (not contagious!), which we are treating, but there is no guarantee the medications will cure the issue, or that the issue won't return later. It will be a process of trial and error, and there is no way to predict how quickly his mobility will decline, or whether it will decline at all. Romeo is a happy happy boy though and to anyone who didn't know him, they would just think he's clumsy, but it can be emotionally challenging as his human to watch him fall down and then struggle sometimes to get back up. His condition is not life threatening, but it will need to be managed (no steep stairs or rough play for this boy) and, to give him the best quality of life, whoever adopts this boy should be prepared for follow-up neurology visits and possible diagnostics down the road, which will be costly. The illness is not deadly, but it will mean he will eventually not be able to walk or control his bowels - whether that is 6 months from now or 10 years from now is anyone's guess - which would likely mean euthanasia. Romeo is just such a joy to be around, and we think he's 100 percent worth every effort and every penny! (Note: HHR is covering all the costs of his treatment while a complete diagnosis and treatment plan is being developed, so right now we are looking for a dedicated foster or foster-to-adopt.) Romeo is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccines. To meet him in person, please fill out an adoption application.
