This is Kevin. He is 2 years old. He is a Cane Corso. He is black/brindle. He is 96lbs. His tail was docked when he was found. He is up to date on most shots, he isn’t a fan of the vet and got upset the last time we took him (December) and would need to be sedated (I have medication). He is chipped and gets treated for heartworm using Nexguard plus. We tried to crate him and he is a dog Houdini, he will slither his body underneath the crate and slip out while keeping the crate in tact. He is trained to go outside to use the bathroom, he knows basic commands and listens when called. Kevin was found wandering the streets of Detroit. He is very sweet, he is friendly to other people including small children and dogs, his bark is loud and intimidating but he isn’t aggressive. He loves food and scratches. He has a nightly routine. He dislikes the bath, the vet, fireworks, thunder and getting in the car. His favorite toy is a ball. He is food driven.

Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). Story

Nia is a 2 1/2 year old cane corso that I’ve had since she was eight weeks old. She’s a very sweet dog loves to cuddle and loves but scratches. She is not aggressive at all towards people or towards other dogs. One of the best breeds I’ve ever owned. She’s really good around kids and very protective over her family. I really hate to give her up, but I’ve just taken a Trucking job over the road and not able to bring her along with me.
