Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Here's Dafny. Don’t let her breed scare you, she is too friendly.We don't know her full history, she was brought to us after possibly being hit by a car. Come to find out she had an old injury.Would she love a soft bed? Yes, please!This older girl (10yrs old) just wants to be in your lap and give you lots of kisses. She sure doesn’t act like an older dog.When she came in she was thin, now she is around 60#.At the shelter, she is jumpy, very excited to see you. When she gets into her forever home, you will have to have some patience with her. She hasn’t shown to be afraid of anything, but she might be right next to you, ALWAYS, or try to be in your lap.We are not sure if she is housebroken, but lots of potty breaks and hopefully she will catch on quick.Unfortunately, this sweet girl did test positive for heartworm disease. Meet Aang! He is a puppy from our Avatar Litter. He was born on March 10, 2024 and is a Cane Corso/Lab/Presa Canario/Pit mix. Aang is an active, adventurous boy who loves to explore outside, play with his canine foster siblings, and run around to get his zoomies out. He is a dog who would enjoy an active lifestyle where he can go on daily walks, go hiking, and be outdoors often. After a busy day, he loves to sprawl out wherever he fits and does love the occasional cuddle session. He likes to where you are and what you are doing, but is independent and likes to do his own thing. He is outgoing, friendly, and eager to meet new people. He has grown up with dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks. Aang can be a bit overzealous with cats, but it is out of excitement and wanting to be friends rather than being mean.
