Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Once he discovered it, he proudly carried it all around the yard, bringing it back to me to show it off. He even enjoyed playing a little tug and carried his prized toy back inside with him!-He’s treat motivated, is learning “sit,” and takes treats nicely with a little reminder. He’s an affectionate guy who will happily come over for a quick scratch before heading off to investigate what’s next. He may be a busy boy right now, but that just adds to his fun, playful personality. He loves playing with other dogs and seems to genuinely enjoy having canine buddies around. However, the smaller dog will whimper and cry, he told to go to place. He’s a gentle giant . The kids has pulled his tail, sat on him back, pulled his legs and he has never hurt them at all. The kids ages are 5 years and 6 years old.. He will bark when he hears something outside and will bark if someone is coming to the house . He has been introduced to strangers and once he smells their hand, he’s fine. He will allow the stranger that he didn’t know to pet him. I selected a place in my house that I call Place and will say to him to go to Place. He will stay for awhile but if I get up and move, he will follow me wherever I go including the bathroom (he tried but I don’t allow him to come in)… He tried playing with my 5 lbs Maltese but she growls at him and shows her little teeth and when he tried playing with her, she whimper and cry
