Story
Buttercup is a little beauty looking for that special fur-ever home where she can be absolutely spoiled with love and affection. When she came into the SPCA as a stray Buttercup was pretty wild and had little socialization with humans. She has spent the last few months in a foster home learning what it is to be around people, and is continuing to build her confidence. She can still be easily startled, and anxious of loud noises or fast movements, and would do best in a quiet adult home without children. She is likely not suitable for an inexperienced cat guardian, and ideally needs someone who is prepared to give her all the gentle love and patience she needs to blossom into the loving companion she can be. Buttercup has come a long way and loves pets and scratches, even weaving around the feet of her favourite person, but she can play 'hard to get' and prefers to be the one seeking out the attention. She may never be a lap cat but she is learning how nice it is to cuddle in bed on lazy mornings. Buttercup gets along really well with other cats and is actually very playful, zooming around her foster home with her feline friend. She needs a home with another cat or two to help her be her happiest self. Buttercup needs a patient, understanding adopter who can provide a safe, quiet space where she can be her best self, a curious and playful young kitty. Story
Meadow is a playful, independent young cat who came to the SPCA as a stray found injured in a rural area. She underwent vet care for multiple injuries, including losing an ear from frostbite and having her tail amputated. When found Meadow was pretty wild and had little socialization with humans. She has spent the last few months in a foster home learning what it is to be in a proper home, but still will take some continued work for a guardian to gain her trust and build her confidence around people. She can still be very fearful and generally prefers to keep her distance. She is not suitable for a home with kids or an inexperienced cat guardian. Meadow needs someone prepared to help her continue her socialization journey, building a trusting and loving relationship with people, someone who understands she will likely never be a "lap cat". Meadow has learned how nice pets and scratches can be which is a great start. Meadow does get along really well with other cats and is actually very playful, zooming around her foster home with her feline friend. She would definitely do best in a home with another cat or two and should be kept as strictly indoor only due to her skittish nature. Meadow needs a patient, understanding adopter who can provide a safe, quiet space where she can feel secure and live life on her own terms. Story
Meet Nitro, a friendly, sweet ebony feline who's looking for his fur-ever home! Nitro came to us with a large, open wound on his neck from another cat attacking him. Nitro has made a great recovery and is back to his cuddly, loving self. He's got a sweet, initially shy, temperament and enjoys being around people once he's comfortable, always ready for a pet or a cuddle. He can be a bit nervous at first, in a new environment so an adopter will need to be prepared to give him time to adjust and he likely would do best in a bit of a quieter home, without young children and needs to be an INDOOR ONLY cat. He will make a wonderful, loving companion to the right home. While in care Nitro has been diagnosed with possible allergies and it is recommended that he be on a special diet to hopefully prevent issues from these allergies, such as dermatitis or granulomas, in the future. Potential adopters can ask SPCA staff for more information. If you're looking for a resilient and affectionate cat, Nitro is waiting to meet you!If you are interested in adopting, please apply online at the link below. https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Weight: 6 Age: 1yrs 3mths 1wks

Story
Sabine is a sweet, playful, and affectionate cat with a big personality and a love for attention. He came to the shelter as an injured stray but quickly won everyone over with his patience and charm during recovery. Now healed, he's energetic, silly, and loves headbutts and scritches-and may even drool a little when he's extra happy!Sabine is FIV-positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which means his immune system is a bit weaker than average. While it sounds serious, FIV isn't contagious to humans or dogs, and Sabine can live a long, healthy life with some extra care. He'll need to be an indoor-only cat to prevent the spread of FIV (which mainly happens through bite wounds) and to protect his own health. Regular vet checkups (twice a year) are important to keep him thriving. An ideal home for Sabine would offer plenty of enrichment-like interactive play, a sunny window, or even a catio or harness walks for safe outdoor time. He's ready to bring joy, fun, and love to a committed forever home.Sabine is looking for a loving, playful, and committed home to call his own.
