Story
Lyanna is spunky and sweet with a fabulous personality. She enjoys all pets and snuggles, squirrel and bird watching out the window on her perch, catnip and toys, and having conversations with her favorite humans. She is very talkative and actually responds back when you talk to her. This would make her an amazing companion for anyone who spends a lot of time alone. She loves anyone of any age who will give her attention. She’s never had any accidents or any other behavioral issues. After 1 1/2 years of trying to adjust to a new dog, I’ve decided it’s best for her to find a home she can thrive in. She has done well with smaller dogs that are uninterested in her in the past. She will come with her automatic scooping litter box that only needs changed every 3-4 weeks with no scooping or smells in between changes. It’s amazing. I’d also be willing to pay to have her registered as emotional support to avoid any and all pet fees if renting. Please help me find this queen the best home.

If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application.   ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis.  We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.  Enjoys snuggling and birdwatching!Do you have a heart for special needs kitties? I’m Marin (also known as “baby” since I was the smallest of my siblings) and was born around 3/22/2022.  I have a heart murmur and have had a couple of allergy flare up.  We don’t know exactly what causes my allergies however when I have a flair up I’ve taken Prednisolone has resolved it when needed. My heart murmur just gets monitored so nothing is needed at this time for it.  I’m so excited that I no longer have to eat a prescription diet which I was trying to see if my allergies were food related.  If you met me you would not know I have periodic allergies or a heart murmur.  I’m a sweet boy who enjoys a good snuggle and bird watching from the window!  My best friend and brother is Nox. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here. Look no further than Nox, the male orange tabby who is winning hearts with his sweet and laid back nature. Nox has Feline Atopic Skin Syndrome, an allergy that requires special care and attention. But don't let that deter you from adopting him, as he is currently receiving medication and going to a pet allergy specialist to get tested. With the hope of ending his allergy issues, Nox is a sweet kitty who deserves a loving home. He enjoys bird watching and belly rubs, and his allergy is not food-related, so he can enjoy treats like any other cat. Adopt Nox today and give him the forever home he deserves!   If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here. Story
StellaI was a 2-month-old stray kitten when I first came to the HSHC. I am now 6-years-old and have lived with two different owners. I want you to know that I LOVE adults & teens. I used to sleep with my owners! I am a friendly, outgoing girl, but I liked being home alone, with no commotion to disturb my naps. When little kids arrived, they made a lot of noise and disrupted the routine. I prefer a calm, predictable environment. When the interviewer lady came to my little room, I quickly went to her for some attention. I love being petted, scratched, and stroked! I am an affectionate girl as long as little children are not around. Although I have had litter box avoidance incidents, I never had problems with the litterbox in my foster home. I readily used various litter types at various height levels. If you give me a small space of my own, with everything I need in one place, I will feel much better about moving in with you. Let me settle in for a few weeks before giving me free rein of the house. I have enjoyed the company of a dog, but I have never lived with other cats (until arriving back at the shelter). Because I have been at the HSHC three times, you must meet with me more than once to ensure it is a match made in heaven. I am eager for a fresh start, so hurry up! 1-29-24
