Bramble (fka Sami) is a big lover boy! He was found inside of a pole barn in northern Michigan. This pole barn is usually locked, and it is still a mystery how he got inside! The Finder did not know there was a cat inside her pole barn until dead mice were being seen, and a box on the floor was being used as a litter box! Cameras were set up, and low and behold there was a cat in the pole barn! The Finder set up a trap, and in comes Sami. He was taken to a local Animal Control, and it was found that he had a microchip. Unfortunately, the Owners never responded even after multiple attempts to contact them. Sami was brought downstate to be fostered by a SBZ volunteer. Sami was an immediate lover boy who wanted nothing but human affection! He's 14 lbs. of pure love and happiness! He also enjoys when humans play with wand toys with him, and wet food with gravy is his favorite. He's not a big fan of being picked up, but he tolerates it. When you sit by him, he will rub on your legs and stand on his back hind legs to get pets. Even though this sweet boy was let down by his original family, he only craves more attention from humans each day! He seems to be fine with other cats with slow introductions. He's not a fan of loud noises or lots of commotion in the house. At first, he may hide at his new home, but with reassurance he will come out of his shell quickly and show you how darn loving and sweet he is! Please consider adding Bramble to your home so he never has to be abandoned or alone ever again.

Meet the Purranos! Big Tony, Paulie “Walnuts”, AJ & Meadow – they are the Purranos (named after that famous family)! Members of the (hopefully) last Black Momma Gang of Layfette Ct., these little 3.5 month old tabbies are ready to “break” into your heart! They are little purring machines, once you get them going, and their fur is that oh-so-kitten soft! They LOVE to play and get really into it, growling and tugging away on their “catch”. Big Tony is the leader and always the first to jump in your lap. Paulie will look at you with bedroom eyes, just waiting for his favorite spot in your lap to be free. AJ winds gently around your legs and sweetly works his way into your lap (and he looks like a tiny bobcat too!). Meadow, the only girl, is full of sass and spunk, and walks on her tippy toes with back arched for pets. Their story is one that is all too familiar – mom is a neighborhood kitty who has been having litter after litter, avoiding capture for years. But, this is going to be her last one! Tony and Paulie were the first to be trapped and the most curious about people. Next came Meadow who was happy to be reunited with her brothers but sad because little AJ stayed on the lam for almost 2 weeks on his own! We were so worried about him! And elated when he finally went into the trap! They are all a little shy with new people at first but quickly warm up once they get to know you!
