Halibut and his brother Popeye came to the shelter when their owner moved and didn`t take them. They took it pretty hard and it took them a few days to adjust to life at the shelter. Halibut is the more outgoing of the two but both enjoy attention and would do well in a calmer home with another cat to keep them company!

Snook was surrendered to the shelter with several other cats when their owner moved and the person they were left with could not care for them. They were all friendly, outgoing cats who were quickly adopted but Snook was very ill and has spent the last month getting better. We aren`t quite sure what caused him to get sick but he is improving steadily and is getting quite sassy about his continued confinement! We are hoping someone will fall in love with him and take him home as a foster to adopt cat until his final blood work in a few weeks. He is desperate for attention and would love someone who has plenty of time to snuggle with him!

Kanyu came to the shelter when he and several other cats were left with someone who was allergic to them. They are all friendly and can be handled but They were all found outside and brought in and have been doing fine as indoor cats but potential families should keep in mind that some cats that are used to being allowed outside when they choose cannot adjust to life as an indoor only cat. Potential adopters wishing to make one of them an indoor pet, will need to be patient and to keep in mind that there could be potential behavior issues and that some cats never lose their desire to roam.

Tadpole and his friend Albacore came to the shelter when their owner was hospitalized and could no longer care for them. They are very sweet and enjoy attention. They are not bonded but wouldn`t mind being adopted together or with another social cat to keep them company! Unfortunately for Tadpole during his neuter surgery he tested positive for FIV. It makes it a little harder for the body to fight off infections, but many FIV-positive cats live long, happy, normal lives. FIV sounds scary, but it’s very manageable. With a stable indoor home, good nutrition, and routine vet care, FIV-positive cats can be amazing companions and live full, happy lives. We would be happy to answer any questions you have about introducing Tadpole to any resident cats (the risk of them getting it is low but not zero), and interested adopters are encouraged to reach out to their veterinarian to discuss it also.

She got along fine with our other animals when we first brought her home. When we moved, she didn’t adjust well to the move. She doesn’t get along with our other animals anymore. She loves people and constantly wants to be pet/loved on. I think she would do well as single pet with a person or family who can give her lots of attention.
