Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Zena is fully vetted, up to date on vaccines and combo tested negative. Zena is an on her terms kind of girl. She can be affectionate when she chooses to be and expects to be rewarded with treats for doing so. She's not a fan of large dogs and will happily give them a swat right in the face. She really would do best as a companion to a single person or quiet couple in a quiet home. Otherwise, she will search for a place to find solace. Zena likes to come to you and will run if you try to just grab her from the floor. But she sure does love her temptations. She will chirp, coo, get happy paws if she thinks you might give her some num nums. She will also make the most adorable vocalizations when she sees you and is asking for treats. With time, patience and lots of treats, I bet you'll be able to grab her off the floor once you build that trust. She doesn't like a lot of commotion and loves to lounge in a sunny window. She's very playful at times and loves her crinkle mat, toys and catnip pillow. Zena is in a home with a large dog and multiple cats, it really is too much for her. She does spend most of her time in the dog free zone and you will find her enjoying the rest of the household when the dog is not home or crated. Zena has idiopathic cystitis. The stress of a many pet household like you find with those who foster can be a bit much for her. It is treated with generic Prozac which is very inexpensive.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. &#226&#150&#186 We do not adopt to Canada  due to border restrictions and breed-specific legislation &#226&#150&#186 We adopt & foster locally only ; within an approximately 55 mile radius of Lockport, NY 14094 USA Adoption donation includes Spay/Neuter, Vaccinations, deworming & flea treatment. Story
We are in need of a nice barn home for one handsome kitty. Oscar can be hot and cold - he is a tad unpredictable. We are looking for a comfortable barn home for him. We ask that he have good shelter, food, water and some human companionship. It is also necessary to confine him for a couple of weeks to acclimate him to the new surroundings. If you can give this guy a nice home, please stop in the Shelter during adoption hours or email us at info@vol4animals.org Oscar has been tested, vaccinated and neutered. There is no adoption fee for him.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. Story
Meet Lavender - A Quiet Beauty with a Gentle Soul Lavender is a stunning young boy with a sleek, deep gray coat that shimmers in the light. He truly lives up to his name. This shy sweetheart spends his days peacefully watching the world go by from a cozy perch, completely mesmerized by birds, squirrels and the occasional mouse on "Cat TV." Lavender is a quiet, independent soul who enjoys the company of other cats but prefers to keep to himself when it comes to people - for now. He's is just starting to accept pets and he will watch you with the softest, most thoughtful eyes that will steal your heart. He absolutely loves catnip, and treats are a sure way to his heart. While he's still learning to trust people, he's making progress every day with the help of his kind and patient caretakers. Lavender would thrive in a calm, understanding home with another friendly feline companion, maybe even his brother, Blackberry, who's also available for adoption! Blackberry is almost Lavender's twin with his sleek black fur coat. With time and love, we believe Lavender will continue to blossom into the gentle affectionate cat he's meant to be. When two cats are adopted at the same time the microchip fee for the second Cat is waived.
We'll also keep you updated on Blackberry's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Blackberry is an Onyx Gemstone This sleek, shiny-coated beauty is Blackberry, a quiet, gentle soul with a hidden playful side just waiting to emerge. At first glance, Blackberry may seem reserved, but give him a little time and patience, and you'll discover a goofy, laser-chasing, toy-loving companion with a heart of gold. Blackberry absolutely lives for wand toys, laser pointers, and bouncing balls, and once he feels safe, his silly antics and graceful pounces will have you smiling in no time. While he's not a fan of being petted just yet, and he's slowly warming up with the help of our dedicated staff and volunteers who work with him every day. He just needs a kind, patient adopter willing to let him blossom at his own pace. Often overlooked for his quiet nature, Blackberry is truly a hidden gem. If you're looking for a low-key companion with a playful, quirky side, he could be your perfect match.
