Story
Lucy is an 10 year old spayed female Black DSH. Lucy came in with some terrible mats and ingrown nails. We shaved out the mats and trimmed up the nails. Once her fur grows back in, she will be quite beautiful. Lucy is said to be good with dogs..   Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $100 fee for any county animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.February 15, 2026, 2:48 pm

Story
Bingo won the lottery! He was rescued on my property before the harsh winter settled in. I spent 3 months taming him. We successfully reached our goal; hence, he is ready for adoption to a responsible loving home. Young adult male brown tabby, vaccinated, neutered and healthy. Trusting, loving, playful, frisky, and food/treat driven. Unknown if he should be housed with other cats. He is shy with my dogs. He will be homed with his personal belongings including his cat tree house. Warning: he is affectionate. If you are seriously interested, I would be more than willing to provide more information. My mission is providing a safe haven for my rescues while ensuring they are spayed/neutered. I live in rural country and I rescue on average 2 cats per year. My thoughts, sadly, are males being pushed out by farms surrounding our property or abandoned. Always a mystery. Location: Bethany, NY (near Batavia, NY).

Story
Meet Lavender - A Quiet Beauty with a Gentle Soul Lavender is a stunning young boy with a sleek, deep gray coat that shimmers in the light. He truly lives up to his name. This shy sweetheart spends his days peacefully watching the world go by from a cozy perch, completely mesmerized by birds, squirrels and the occasional mouse on "Cat TV." Lavender is a quiet, independent soul who enjoys the company of other cats but prefers to keep to himself when it comes to people - for now. He's is just starting to accept pets and he will watch you with the softest, most thoughtful eyes that will steal your heart. He absolutely loves catnip, and treats are a sure way to his heart. While he's still learning to trust people, he's making progress every day with the help of his kind and patient caretakers. Lavender would thrive in a calm, understanding home with another friendly feline companion, maybe even his brother, Blackberry, who's also available for adoption! Blackberry is almost Lavender's twin with his sleek black fur coat. With time and love, we believe Lavender will continue to blossom into the gentle affectionate cat he's meant to be. When two cats are adopted at the same time the microchip fee for the second Cat is waived.

Story
Blackberry is an Onyx Gemstone This sleek, shiny-coated beauty is Blackberry, a quiet, gentle soul with a hidden playful side just waiting to emerge. At first glance, Blackberry may seem reserved, but give him a little time and patience, and you'll discover a goofy, laser-chasing, toy-loving companion with a heart of gold. Blackberry absolutely lives for wand toys, laser pointers, and bouncing balls, and once he feels safe, his silly antics and graceful pounces will have you smiling in no time. While he's not a fan of being petted just yet, and he's slowly warming up with the help of our dedicated staff and volunteers who work with him every day. He just needs a kind, patient adopter willing to let him blossom at his own pace. Often overlooked for his quiet nature, Blackberry is truly a hidden gem. If you're looking for a low-key companion with a playful, quirky side, he could be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Rochelle – A Gentle Mama Looking for Her Happy Ending Rochelle is a beautiful grey and white cat who devoted herself to raising her kittens with quiet love and care. She then nursed another litter of kittens who needed a mom. Now that all of her little ones are off on their own adventures, it’s Rochelle’s turn to find a forever home. She may be shy at first, which means she often gets overlooked—but once she feels safe, she melts for behind-the-ear scratches and gentle affection. With a little patience, you’ll see her sweet personality shine through. If you’re looking for a calm, quiet companion who just needs a chance to be seen, Rochelle might be your perfect match. Please understand that Rochelle can get along with another cat, but she is not fond of kittens as she was a good mom to so many. She would be best as the only cat in the home.
