Story
Are you a fan of cattitude and cats on the spicier side of life? Ms. Mabel may be the perfect kitty for you! Mabel was found as a stray alongside her siblings in August of 2025 and spent some much needed time in a foster home. While she worked on her socialization with people in her foster home, this petite lady would love a forever home on the quieter side while she continues to accept humans as friends. Mabel's typical greeting is a not-so-scary hiss followed by some airplane ears and a grumpy face to really let her visitors know she is not in the mood. Once she is over her initial upset, Mabel will accept head pats and some ear scratches once she is more comfortable with you. If you are looking for a lap cat or a kitty that enjoys being held, Mabel may not be the kitty for you. She still has quite a bit of time and much needed TLC before she will be ready to be that lovey with those who are not her kitty pals. We would recommend very strongly that Mabel go into a home with other cats, if not with one of her siblings. You will almost always find Mabel cuddled up with another kitten and she gains a lot of her comfort and confidence from being with them. While we have not seen her play with any toys yet, Mabel certainly seems to enjoy watching her siblings toss them around! Mabel is looking for a loving, patient home to call her own. If you think that Mabel may be the fit for you, be sure to stop by to visit her! Mabel is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Story
Meet Snickers! Snickers came to AHS in February 2025 and is looking to find a calm, quiet home where he can come out of his shell in his own time. Snickers has been very shy since coming to us, but is slowly getting a little braver since he has been hanging out in our free-roam cattery. He has made fast friends with the other cats in our cattery and has felt the safest tucked under a blanket on the couch or the couch itself. Snickers will accept gentle pets but you have to go slow with him otherwise he does get frightened by it. He has been learning how fun climbing around and bouncing the cat trees can be! He enjoys the company of other cats and may even grow some confidence if he has a kitty pal in his forever home! Snickers may not do the best in a home with children who would not be respectful of his space. If you have a lot of extra TLC to give then be sure to stop by and visit Snickers! Snickers is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

🐾 Meet Abbey! 🐾 Abbey is a gentle, quiet soul who enjoys her own space and a calm environment. She’s a thoughtful observer — content to watch the world around her without hiding away. While she prefers not to be picked up or cuddled, she’s perfectly happy to share her space with you and will blossom with patience and understanding. Abbey would make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a peaceful, independent kitty with a heart full of quiet charm. 💕

Story
Say hello to Hilda! This pretty old lady came to us in October of 2025 due to the current pet in the home not accepting her. She is quite the shy girl, preferring to nap away on the top shelf of her kennel — until a tasty treat is offered, that is! Food is the quickest way to her heart, especially in the form of a lickable treat or wet food. Once she warms up to you, Hilda is a sweetheart who likes to cuddle and absolutely loves a good head scratch! She can be fairly vocal about things she likes (and doesn't like) and certainly demands the pampered life she deserves. We have not seen much playful behavior from Hilda, but we suspect she likes to play when no one's watching as her toys are always moved around. In her previous home, it became evident that Hilda prefers a chill life. She'd do best as the only cat in the home or with a male cat companion. We have not seen her with dogs. Hilda is great with respectful, calm children but fearful of younger and louder children. Hilda is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
