Story
Meet Noah! Noah is a strikingly handsome Catahoula mix (we think) who had the extreme misfortune of being a stray pup in a rural Georgia county with a very high euthanasia rate. With such a small facility, this county is only able to hold strays for about 3 days before they are euthanized for space  Noah is about 6 months old and has the most gorgeous blue eyes. We really have no way of knowing his breed mix but we are guessing possibly a Catahoula/Husky mix. This sweet playful guy absolutely loves going out for a game of chase or wrestling with his friends and then settling in for a nap.   Interested in adopting? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org PLEASE NOTE: RMG requires an adult dog in the home for ALL puppy adoptions. This is a strict requirement  ##2151817##

Story
Hello there, I'm Yonah. I'm a Hound/Catahoula mix with a heart as big as my breed suggests. I've been told I'm sweet and mellow, and I think that's a pretty fair assessment. I was named after the national trail day! My name is Yonah after the Mount Yonah trail. I enjoy the simple things in life - a good nap, a gentle pet, and the occasional treat. I was found wandering, presumably looking for my home. I am now ready to actually find that home! I'm just a laid-back guy who loves companionship. I'm hoping to find a forever home with someone who appreciates my calm nature and loving spirit. Adopting me would mean gaining a loyal friend who will always be there for you, ready with a wagging tail and a warm heart.Weight: 72 lbs Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 75.1 Age: 6yrs 6mths 1wks

Story
Archie is a Catahoula that was rescued from a Kill Shelter in September 2024. He is sweet and playful dog that has proven to be good with other dogs and people. He easily accepts new people and loves to be petted and around the owner. Archie looks to be around 2 years old, as the shelter did not identify his age, but approximate was given by a vet. A new home would preferably have a place to run around, he likes to dash around the parks and backyards.

Story
Ahoy there! SeaBiscuit here, looking to sail away to a good home! Landlubbers say I have gorgeous coloring and am rather unique looking (I would say aye to that.) I narrowly escaped being euthanized for space at an overcrowded shelter but a kind family saw my photo and decided to foster me. Talk about lucky!! Here are a few things to know about me. I am an energetic mate but settle down quickly. My fosters say I just melt into them and can’t get enough cuddling and snuggling. I am good with their teenage daughter and love her so much. I am friendly, playful, fun, know sit, give kisses, affectionate. I am house trained and crate trained. I know sit, lay down commands and I am working on touch, focus, turn, and stay commands. What else do you need to know? I have enjoyed the company of other dogs at the shelter and am trying to make friends with the dog in my foster home, except he’s taking his time to get to know me. I was going to put this message in a bottle but people tell me the internet is faster. So, please consider me, SeaBiscuit and allow me to sail into your home and heart! Check out my YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cv12D8OLm5s Age: 2.9 years Weight: 62 lbs Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm  negative and on prevention Temperament: Good with other dogs.  Good with older, respectful kids.   Training, House trained, crate trained, knows several commands  Email for questions: sonaligokhale@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. November 6, 2024, 12:45 pm

Story
Beatrice just turned three, and we were curious to learn about her breed mix. Here’s what we discovered: 66% Treeing Walker Coonhound 10% Plott Hound 4% Redbone Coonhound 3% Bluetick Coonhound 2% American Foxhound You can check out more details about her breed mix here: Beatrice's Wisdom Panel . Now, let me tell you why Beatrice is so special. She is a sweet, loving, and smart girl who adores people and other dogs. Whenever she sees a new face—human or canine—her tail wags with excitement. She’s incredibly social and loves to make new friends. However, Beatrice does have a high prey drive, so a home without small animals, including cats and small dogs, would be best. Her enthusiasm for food also makes her a bit too rambunctious for homes with very young children, as she may accidentally knock them over in her excitement. At around 40 pounds, Beatrice is strong and agile. As a hound, her hunting instincts are sharp—especially when it comes to raccoons. She has even taken down a raccoon her size without a scratch! Beatrice’s story is one of resilience. This beautiful brindle girl was abandoned on a road in Arkansas while pregnant, and sadly, her litter didn’t survive. After fending for herself, she thought she’d found a home, only to be abandoned again. Thankfully, a local rescue stepped in, and Beatrice made her way to Atlanta, where she’s hoping to find her true forever family. What makes Beatrice truly special are her soulful eyes, her stunning coat, and her eagerness to please. She’s a social butterfly who loves other dogs, enjoys playtime, and has a deep desire to bond with a person she can call her own. She’s a cuddler, happy to snuggle up and relax next to you, but she’s also a true hound who would love to accompany you on outdoor adventures. If you’re a hunter, she’d be thrilled to join you—just be sure to keep a tracker on her because once she picks up a scent, she’s off! Because of her strong hunting instincts, a home with a fenced yard would be ideal to give her space to run while staying safe. Beatrice is 100% potty trained and is perfectly calm indoors as long as she gets her daily walk. A 30-minute walk is usually enough to keep her content and relaxed, but without that exercise, she might get a bit antsy. If you’re looking for a beautiful, loyal companion to share your life with—whether it’s watching TV on the couch or exploring the outdoors, Beatrice Beasley could be the perfect match. She’s a special girl, and I tell her that every day. My biggest hope is that she finds someone who will see just how special she is and give her the loving home she deserves. Could that someone be you?
