Story
Meet Bongo, he’s absolutely beautiful, has a unique merle coat and stunning heterochromatic eyes. He is so goofy! He LOVES water (the little plastic pool is his bestie) and he will 100% try to get in the shower with you if you leave the door open LOL. He loves to be your little shadow.. does not know the meaning of personal space. He will cuddle right up to you all night in the bed. He will nudge you with his nose and paws. He loves getting and giving kisses. His favorite place to be pet is his sweet little face. He’s playful, good with kids, cats and other dogs of all sizes and ages. He has a spunky, playful personality, loves to snuggle and will make great family boy for the right family. Bongo is smart and has no idea he was born with impairments. He has limited, if any hearing, and slight vision impairment in one eye. Bongo will require an adoptive family dedicated to teaching both verbal and hand signal commands, and when out of a fenced enclosure must be leashed for his own safety. Bongo enjoys all the marvels of any puppy exploring the world and long term prognosis is great. He needs no special daily care or medicine, just consideration in training techniques. Bongo is at no greater risk of further vision or hearing deterioration than any other dog as he ages. Bongo’s ideal family would have a fenced yard and a companion pet as an added bonus.  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  ##1640441##

Story
Meet Sarge! Hi everyone, my name is Sarge and I am a 5 month old Catahoula Leopard dog mix. I currently weigh in at a healthy 26 pounds, but I still have lots of growing left to do. When i'm fully grown the kennel staff thinks I will be around 50-60 pounds. I have a gorgeous coat that is a soft brindle with cute little white paws! I am a very sweet boy who loves to be with my people I will even let you carry me around just like a big baby. Meeting new people gets me very excited even though I can be shy at first, im always interested in getting to know them and making everyone my best friend. I have also been told that I do great with children of all ages due to my sweet temperament. I love being pet as it's one of my favorite things to do and i'll seek your attention whenever I can as I love it when you scratch behind my ears and give me belly rubs. I am also great with all dogs big or small and enjoy running around playing with them and I am very submissive as well. I currently play with two other fur friends, so if you have another dog I would love to meet them to see if we would be best friends! I don't have much life experience yet, but i'm a fast learner and love to learn new things. My ideal home would be with a loving family or person who is looking for a loving fur baby to cuddle and play with, maybe even with another fur friend to keep me entertained. I'm not fond of a crate so I will need some training in this department. I am so excited to meet you and I just know we are going to be best friends! I am currently up for adoption. If you are interested in meeting with me, please fill out an application or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480 for more information on me! Love, Sarge!

Story
Myles has those dreamy baby blue eyes you`ve been waiting for. His speckled coat only adds to his style. Myles may seem shy and reserved in the kennel, but he’s a bundle of joyful energy once he’s out in the play yard! He likes all toys and playing fetch with a tennis ball. Myles fits right into the independent explorer category as far as personality goes, but breaks the norm by checking in for a hug and a kiss from time to time! Does that sound like a perfect match for you? Come meet Myles!

Story
Ida Mae is a country girl, she loves the outdoors and the farm life.  She was dumped near a farm and the woman there was kind enough to take her in and put weight back on her and get her vetted.  Unfortunately many dogs are dumped here so this lady needs to find homes for them. Ida Mae prefers the outdoors and would be a great camping and hiking partner or would love to live and work on a farm.  She is good with most farm animals though we don't know about cats. Age: 1 yr Weight: 50 lbs Training: Housetraining in progress and crate-trained.  Temperament: Good with dogs and older kids, has not met toddlers.   Vetting: Spayd, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention. Email for questions: messparker@gmail.com  To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. September 21, 2023, 11:00 am
