Story
BEST WAY TO INQUIRE, EMAIL Adoptions@BAMMRESCUEPDX.ORG Chief is a chubby, “grumpy old man” in the most heartbreaking way. He mostly lays on his blanket, conserving his energy. He gives big, raspy borks sometimes, but it feels more like a warning to the world that he’s tired and unsure. He walks well on leash. He isn’t overly affectionate but he loves food. Treats are his joy. He’ll catch them mid-air with impressive accuracy, and when offered a can of wet food, he allowed full handling without hesitation… then inhaled it like a man who’s learned food isn’t always guaranteed. Chief feels like a dog who is missing his person, the only constant he’s known, even if that life wasn’t perfect. Seniors feel loss deeply and shelters are especially cruel places for them.Chief did not test well with other dogs and may need to be the only pet. When tested, he showed clear discomfort and escalation when another dog got close. He needs a quiet, adult-only home, or a hospice foster, where he can rest, eat well, and feel safe for whatever time he has left. However he was found in 2021 with another dog in a hotel room so there may be potential outside of the shelter environment.   ##2617110##

***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 9/19/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement – part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. These fantastic, unique Catahoula Leopard Dog mix pups, born 7/10/2026, came to us as a Stop the Cycle litter (we spay mama at our expense when the pups are weaned, and return her to her family). Mama Zena (last photo) definitely has a big dose of Catahoula with possibly some Australian Cattle Dog influence, and the suspected papa has some German Shorthaired Pointer in the mix... these pups are true LeMutte puppies, we would love to see a DNA profile from one (or more) of the adopters! The litter includes (along with their weights as of 8/24): CHOPPER: male, black & white 12.4# BIGGEST OVERALL CHEER: female, brown & white (blue eyes) 9.6# FAITH: female, grey & white (blue eyes) 7.7# SMALLEST OVERALL CHARITY: female, black & white 10.9# CANOODLE: male, grey/black/white, white blaze 10.9# TENDERHEART: male, brown/grey/white, lots of white on chest, white blaze 11.9# DULCET: female, grey/white with dark ears, wide blaze (blue eyes) 9.1# GUARDIAN: male, grey/black/white, lots of black L front leg, black patch over L eye 11.7# PATIENCE: female, brownish grey/black/white, black R front leg, thin white blaze (blue eyes) 9.7# While it's impossible to perfectly predict adult weights on mixed breed pups, we can guesstimate that this bunch will end up between 60# - 90# so would be considered LARGE dogs, with most being in the 70-85# range Although you will notice a few of them napping during their video shoot (no, we don't force them to wake up and perform on our schedule, lol), DO NOT BE FOOLED! These will be fun, active, high energy family dogs who will love being on the go with you. They are young enough to adapt quickly to other pets already in the family, and are looking forward to learning everything you want to teach them. This crew will be ready to join their new families on 9/16/26 (or any day after that). Puppies require a lot of human interaction, and all puppies will benefit from obedience training and full immersion in their human household. These pups' ideal homes will have someone who can exercise them with a couple of energetic walks each day, plus commitment to training them how to be the best dogs they can be. They hope to have very few hours per day when they will be without the companionship of a human or other pet, and will reward their forever people with boundless love and loyalty! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $185 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
Cooper is a 9 year old Catahoula leopard mix that we originally adopted from Texas. We now have 2 young kids and have realized Cooper would do best in a home without children. Cooper is an extremely well mannered and behaved dog (especially for a breed of this energy level). He is crate trained, well mannered on a leash, and is trained with a buzz collar for off leash recall. He is a great guard dog and will give single woof but otherwise isn’t a big barker. Cooper loves to snuggle his owners and trusted adult humans. He loves to nap in the sun and go to bed early but will still play like a puppy or go on long hikes. He has a strong prey drive, and will happily keep pests out of his yard. Despite a prey drive Cooper grew up with a cat in the home and respected her space. Cooper has two triggers: 1) resource guarding and 2) personal space, so should be in a home without children. Het gets along with other dogs, mostly female and smaller dogs, but will escalate when provoked.

Story
Animal Information: Cowboy is a 2-year-old, 100-pound sweetheart (his ideal weight is around 80 pounds) who came to Washington after being adopted directly from a Texas rescue. He has a rock-solid temperament and is friendly with dogs, people, and other animals. Unfortunately, Cowboy’s previous placement wasn’t the right fit. He was adopted by an elderly woman in her 80s who wasn’t able to walk or exercise him. As a result, Cowboy gained weight and wasn’t getting his needs met. After evaluating this beautiful boy, we committed to helping him find a more suitable home where he can truly thrive. Despite his size, Cowboy is easygoing and not difficult to walk. He’s a gentle, affectionate dog who enjoys companionship and would make a wonderful addition to the right family. His ideal home would be with someone who has experience with large breed dogs and lives in a single-family residence. While Cowboy hasn’t lived with children during his time in Washington, he has met several and consistently displayed soft, relaxed body language. Cowboy is ready for a fresh start with a family who can give him the exercise, structure, and love he deserves. Foster Profile: Cowboy is a lovely goofy guy who would love kids of all ages -- but he's a big guy so could knock down a little kid inadvertently--and he's social with dogs too. He's a really nice mix of energy and snuggle and rest -- take him for a nice hike and then snuggle and watch tv when you get home! He does get excited about rabbits and squirrels on walks, and we are working on that (and can help you learn how to keep working on that). He's a fast learner! He is crate and potty trained and an all around great guy! Cowboy would love a dog buddy in his new home, but would also be ok as a single dog. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue after he was adopted directly from Texas to a home that was not a match, arriving to foster care on 4/17/26. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.September 13, 2026, 6:38 pm

Story
Meet Clint! Clint is a hero in his own right, named after the legendary Hawkeye himself. He is a 3-year-old Catahoula/Pit mix who is athletic, handsome, and always ready for his next mission. He is a high-energy guy who would thrive with active adults (kids 12+) who enjoy hikes, adventures, and keeping life moving. True to his Hawkeye spirit, Clint is agile, strong, and loves to play, especially with confident, social, easygoing dog friends after proper introductions. Clint is deaf and has a visual impairment, so patience and consistency are key. The good news? This smart pup already knows basic commands using sign language and is highly food-motivated, making continued training both fun and rewarding. He may take a little time to warm up, but once he trusts you, he's incredibly friendly, affectionate, and more than happy to roll over and show you his belly as a sign of true friendship. Clint is housetrained, crate trained, and has been around cats without showing a strong prey drive. He is the kind of dog who bonds deeply with his people and will stick by your side like a true Avenger. If you're looking for an adventurous, loyal companion who just needs the right teammate to help him aim true, Clint Barton is ready to join your squad. He can be vocal because he can't hear himself and it can be hard to give him signs from a distance due to that as well. Overall he is a very sweet and playful boy.  Clint is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
