Indio was around the shelter for two years, neglected by his former owners, we decided to give him a space in the shelter when he started playing among the cars on the road. In the midst of danger we were able to get him to safety, and he currently has his full vaccination schedule, microchipped and neutered, ready for his new home. He is a very faithful, intelligent, calm and very sociable dog. He was raised with other dogs and cats, so he makes him a good companion for any family, he likes to go for a walk on a leash, cuddles, receive prizes and learns very quickly. He is an affectionate companion, ideal for a family with children and cats, who wants to give him the love he deserves. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. She is a sweet girl who walks well on a leash, knows some basic commands, takes treats gently and is housetrained. She would love a home with an active family who will keep her physically exercised. She can be reactive with other dogs when face-to-face and would do best as the only dog in the home. She would love a home with a securely fenced yard in a suburban or rural neighborhood where she can run around and get her zoomies out or chill out and relax. Zoe’s throat was crushed in a crate door when she was a puppy and she needs to be walked using a harness, no collars or slip leads. She has dealt with some megaesophagus but it is manageable. Animal Profile: Pan is an estimated 1 yr old 65 lb neutered male Catahoula Retriever mix who gets along well with other dogs. Originally from Texas, he was surrendered to rescue as an accidental litter and waited for months for an adopter. After a long trip to WA he thought he'd finally found his forever home but unfortunately that individual had a medical emergency and had to "return" him after just two weeks. Rather than send him back to TX we agreed to take him in to rescue. Pan previously lived with dogs and cats and did well with them. We will share more as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Update: Panko, or Pan for short, is a ham or a maybe a bread loaf! He's a happy goofy puppy whose brain is still catching up to his body. He is cautious around new people, but once he warms up he will try his best to sit on your lap. He loves to fetch, gnaw on chews, and play with toys. He's got beautifully light eyes, a wrinkly forehead, adorably spotted ears, and a nubby quarter-tail. He's come a long way since he first arrived. We've hung out at a brewery on a slow night, visited a pet store, and gone on multiple structured walks on the Burke Gilman trail. He's met several dogs on a leash without issue, and doesn't react when being barked at. His ideal family would be active and confident as he responds well to strong leadership. We're working on his basic commands and engagement. He'll do well with a neutral resident dog, though he's also making progress quickly as a solo dog in our household. He's a real sweetheart, and anyone would be lucky to have him! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate.
