Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Zoe! She is a beautiful, 1.5-year-old, 50 lb, Catahoula Leopard Dog mix who was surrendered by her owner as she could no longer keep her. She is a sweet girl who walks well on a leash, knows some basic commands, takes treats gently and is housetrained. She would love a home with an active family who will keep her physically exercised. She can be reactive with other dogs and needs to be the only dog in the home. She would love a home with a securely fenced yard in a suburban or rural neighborhood where she can run around and get her zoomies out or chill out and relax. Zoe’s throat was crushed in a crate door when she was a puppy and she needs to be walked using a harness, no collars or slip leads. Zoe is up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $400.

Story
Meet Lil Miss This sweet girl has had a rough go. She was found by her owner on the road as hit by a car, scared, sad and lonely. She took her to the vet and with their help and her love, she nursed her back to health, and lil miss was finally happy. Sadly, her owner recently passed away, leaving lil miss, once again, sad and lonely. She is being cared after by a sweet friend of her owners in hopes to find her a home that will love her an adore her like she had been. She is kid friendly and dog friendly with a kind and loving disposition. She is a bit apprehensive when it comes to medical care and is somewhat nervous in that situation, but you can't blame her after all the hard things this loving girl has been through. If you have the heart to give, she would be willing to take it. All she needs is a loving home to see her through. Her adoption fee includes her being fully vetted, microchipped and she is available to you via ground transport.

Story
Animal Profile: Pan is an estimated 10-month-old 65 lb neutered male Catahoula Retriever mix who gets along well with other dogs. Originally from Texas, he was surrendered to rescue as an accidental litter and waited for months for an adopter. After a long trip to WA he thought he'd finally found his forever home but unfortunately that individual had a medical emergency and had to "return" him after just two weeks. Rather than send him back to TX we agreed to take him in to rescue. Pan previously lived with dogs and cats and did well with them. We will share more as we get to know him in foster care.   Foster Update: Panko, or Pan for short, is a ham or a maybe a bread loaf! He's a happy goofy puppy whose brain is still catching up to his body -- he still regularly trips going up and down the stairs. He is cautious around new people, but once he warms up he will try his best to sit on your lap. He loves to fetch, gnaw on chews, and play with toys.  We're still working on getting some smiley photos, but he's got beautifully light eyes, a wrinkly forehead, adorably spotted ears, and a nubby quarter-tail. He's come a long way in the ten days since he arrived. We've hung out at a brewery on a slow night, visited a pet store, and gone on multiple structured walks on the Burke Gilman trail. He's met several dogs on a leash without issue, and doesn't react when being barked at.    His ideal family would be active, patient, and confident. We're working on his basic commands and engagement. He'll probably do well with a resident dog, though he's also making progress quickly as a solo dog in our household. He's a real sweetheart, and anyone would be lucky to have him! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to SCARF in Nov 2023 as part of an accidental liter, and adopted to WA in May 2024. He was surrendered to DGS foster care on 6/3/2024. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care. June 19, 2024, 8:52 pm
