Story
Poppy is an amazing dog- she just needs to find a canine companion! Poppy is a part of our SPOTLIGHT PROGRAM- she is a dog currently living with her owners, but we are assisting in her rehoming. We have met her and have assessed her general capacity for adoptability... We can't say enough good things about her! Poppy is smart! She's been through training, she's generally well behaved. She loves dogs (which is part of the problem as her current home doesn't have another) and goes to daycare and plays well with everyone there! She is relatively high energy, so she does need a lot of exercise and engagement. Ultimately though she has some anxiety that she is being treated for (mood stabilizer) primarily because we believe she needs another dog in the home. If she had that companionship, it is believed she would be happier...and is sadly, something that ultimately her owners cannot provide. She is crate trained and housebroken. She's friendly, outgoing, fun, happy and just plain lovely...but is seeking a match in a family that has another dog who plays hard too!

Story
Meet Kahlo! Kahlo is a happy 10 year old Catahoula Hound mix who was adopted from Wet Nose Foster Paws 5 years ago and is now looking for a new home with no young kids or dogs. 12+ old kids are ok. He has sweet golden eyes and a personality that is equal parts spunky, awkward, and charming. Friends have called him the one-eared wonder because he was adopted with one ear. He has done well with cats in the past and would do best in a home as the only dog. He quickly warms up to new people and loves to snuggle and find a nice cozy spot to nap. His nose guides him to love smelling on walks and exploring treat puzzles/toys. He is very food motivated so training has gone well with his family. Kahlo is super smart - he knows basic commands (sit, stay, down, circle, go to your spot), he is recall trained to come when called, house trained, loves treats, and will flourish in a home with no small children or other dogs. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.

Story
Lulu is 3 yrs old, born 1/31/2023. She is a happy dog that loves to go to the dog park and make friends. She was originally my sisters dog, but my sister moved to New Zealand & couldn’t afford to take Lulu. Lulu adjusted to moving in with me almost immediately. She is house trained & knows basic obedience. She is still learning leash manners but she is food motivated & easy-going. She does have a seasonal rash on her belly but the vet gives her a shot that clears it right up (allergies). I’ve been working to get her weight down but have not had much luck, (the vet recommended that she be brought down to 49lbs but she is currently 58lbs).She is cuddly. She loves to sit on the couch with you & nap. She is in need of a forever home. I also have a kennel, dog bed & hairbrush that will go with her to help get her settled in. She is nervous stepping onto tile or slippery hard wood but she will get used to it after a few times of being really cautious.

Story
She Is 4 years old. Don’t give up on willow. I need to find her a good home. I will miss will Willow everyday of my life. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. But I need her in a home that will be patient with her. She was attacked by a pittbull a year ago and has been dog aggressive ever since. I gave made major progress with her. She isn’t aggressive with other dogs, she has to know they won’t hurt her first. I wouldn’t give up on willow. I just have to move into a house who doesn’t allow dogs.

Story
WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌸🐾 Meet Shirley — A Soft Soul with a Big Heart (and a Little Extra Fluff) 🐾🌸 Shirley is a June 2023 baby, weighing in at about 60 pounds — though her ideal weight is closer to 50 (she’s currently rocking that “well-loved” look 😄). She’s spayed, fully vetted, and comes with what can only be described as an impressively solid resume for a family dog. Shirley checks all the important boxes: ✅ Good with other dogs ✅ Great with kids ✅ House trained ✅ Up to date on vaccines ✅ Loyal, loving, and well-mannered ✅ Professional belly-rub enthusiast At first, Shirley can be a teeny bit shy — the kind of girl who likes to observe before jumping in — but give her a moment and she’ll melt right into you. Once she trusts you, she’s all about the belly rubs, quiet companionship, and loyal sidekick energy. She’s sweet, gentle, and has a calm presence that makes her a joy to be around. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to be the center of attention — she just wants to be near her people, soaking up love and offering it right back. Whether it’s lounging at your feet, joining you for a walk, or quietly supervising household activities, Shirley is happy just being part of a family. And yes… she could stand to lose a few pounds — but honestly, that just means more motivation to strap on that fitbit and getting your steps in... together, right? 😉 Shirley is ready for a home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished — a place where she can finally settle in and be someone’s “good girl” for life. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give Shirley the forever home she so deeply deserves. 🐾💖

Story
Animal Information: Cowboy is a 2-year-old, 100-pound sweetheart (his ideal weight is around 80 pounds) who came to Washington after being adopted directly from a Texas rescue. He has a rock-solid temperament and is friendly with dogs, people, and other animals. Unfortunately, Cowboy’s previous placement wasn’t the right fit. He was adopted by an elderly woman in her 80s who wasn’t able to walk or exercise him. As a result, Cowboy gained weight and wasn’t getting his needs met. After evaluating this beautiful boy, we committed to helping him find a more suitable home where he can truly thrive. Despite his size, Cowboy is easygoing and not difficult to walk. He’s a gentle, affectionate dog who enjoys companionship and would make a wonderful addition to the right family. His ideal home would be with someone who has experience with large breed dogs and lives in a single-family residence. While Cowboy hasn’t lived with children during his time in Washington, he has met several and consistently displayed soft, relaxed body language. Cowboy is ready for a fresh start with a family who can give him the exercise, structure, and love he deserves. Foster Profile: Coming Soon! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue after he was adopted directly from Texas to a home that was not a match, arriving to foster care on 4/17/26. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.June 16, 2026, 10:50 pm
