Story
Poppy is an amazing dog- she just needs to find a canine companion! Poppy is a part of our SPOTLIGHT PROGRAM- she is a dog currently living with her owners, but we are assisting in her rehoming. We have met her and have assessed her general capacity for adoptability... We can't say enough good things about her! Poppy is smart! She's been through training, she's generally well behaved. She loves dogs (which is part of the problem as her current home doesn't have another) and goes to daycare and plays well with everyone there! She is relatively high energy, so she does need a lot of exercise and engagement. Ultimately though she has some anxiety that she is being treated for (mood stabilizer) primarily because we believe she needs another dog in the home. If she had that companionship, it is believed she would be happier...and is sadly, something that ultimately her owners cannot provide. She is crate trained and housebroken. She's friendly, outgoing, fun, happy and just plain lovely...but is seeking a match in a family that has another dog who plays hard too!

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌸🐾 Meet Shirley — A Soft Soul with a Big Heart (and a Little Extra Fluff) 🐾🌸 Shirley is a June 2023 baby, weighing in at about 60 pounds — though her ideal weight is closer to 50 (she’s currently rocking that “well-loved” look 😄). She’s spayed, fully vetted, and comes with what can only be described as an impressively solid resume for a family dog. Shirley checks all the important boxes: ✅ Good with other dogs ✅ Great with kids ✅ House trained ✅ Up to date on vaccines ✅ Loyal, loving, and well-mannered ✅ Professional belly-rub enthusiast At first, Shirley can be a teeny bit shy — the kind of girl who likes to observe before jumping in — but give her a moment and she’ll melt right into you. Once she trusts you, she’s all about the belly rubs, quiet companionship, and loyal sidekick energy. She’s sweet, gentle, and has a calm presence that makes her a joy to be around. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need to be the center of attention — she just wants to be near her people, soaking up love and offering it right back. Whether it’s lounging at your feet, joining you for a walk, or quietly supervising household activities, Shirley is happy just being part of a family. And yes… she could stand to lose a few pounds — but honestly, that just means more motivation to strap on that fitbit and getting your steps in... together, right? 😉 Shirley is ready for a home where she can feel safe, loved, and cherished — a place where she can finally settle in and be someone’s “good girl” for life. Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give Shirley the forever home she so deeply deserves. 🐾💖

Story
Animal Information: Cowboy is a 2-year-old, 100-pound sweetheart (his ideal weight is around 80 pounds) who came to Washington after being adopted directly from a Texas rescue. He has a rock-solid temperament and is friendly with dogs, people, and other animals. Unfortunately, Cowboy’s previous placement wasn’t the right fit. He was adopted by an elderly woman in her 80s who wasn’t able to walk or exercise him. As a result, Cowboy gained weight and wasn’t getting his needs met. After evaluating this beautiful boy, we committed to helping him find a more suitable home where he can truly thrive. Despite his size, Cowboy is easygoing and not difficult to walk. He’s a gentle, affectionate dog who enjoys companionship and would make a wonderful addition to the right family. His ideal home would be with someone who has experience with large breed dogs and lives in a single-family residence. While Cowboy hasn’t lived with children during his time in Washington, he has met several and consistently displayed soft, relaxed body language. Cowboy is ready for a fresh start with a family who can give him the exercise, structure, and love he deserves. Foster Profile: Cowboy is a lovely goofy guy who would love kids of all ages -- but he's a big guy so could knock down a little kid inadvertently--and he's social with dogs too. He's a really nice mix of energy and snuggle and rest -- take him for a nice hike and then snuggle and watch tv when you get home! He does get excited about rabbits and squirrels on walks, and we are working on that (and can help you learn how to keep working on that). He's a fast learner! He is crate and potty trained and an all around great guy! Cowboy would love a dog buddy in his new home, but would also be ok as a single dog. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was surrendered to our rescue after he was adopted directly from Texas to a home that was not a match, arriving to foster care on 4/17/26. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 23, 2026, 6:31 pm

Meet Chicken, Banana & Raisin! Who names puppies Chicken, Banana, and Raisin? We do...and somehow it fits these goofy little characters perfectly! The funniest part? Our mama is a beautiful medium-sized brown and white Basenji-looking mix. As for Dad...your guess is as good as ours! He may have had some Catahoula Leopard Dog in him, or maybe he was a bully breed. Honestly, we have no idea! Judging by our stocky little builds and unique coloring, either guess seems possible—but whatever he was, he helped make us pretty adorable. We're a hilarious bunch with the cutest little barks you've ever heard. We love to "talk" to our people, chat with the other dogs, and narrate every wrestling match like tiny sports commentators. Life is one big adventure, and we're here for all of it! When we're not zooming around or tumbling over each other, you'll find us tripping over giant stuffed toys that are somehow bigger than we are. We may not have mastered grace yet, but we've definitely mastered being adorable. If you're looking for a puppy that will keep you laughing, shower you with love, and fill your home with happy tail wags and silly antics, one of us is ready to be your new best friend. But fair warning—we're ridiculously cute, so we probably won't be available for long! Local adoption fee is $350(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)
