You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Dee Dee is a very sweet, three-year-old Havanese Cavalier King Charles mix, weighing 18.5 pounds. Even though she is small, she has a rugged quality to her - she loves to go on long walks, trips to the dog park or rides in the car, even long ones. Dee Dee likes to be included! She loves people of all ages, women, men, young and old. She wants to love and be loved and transfers her love and devotion easily. She would make an awesome family dog but could also be happy with her one-and-only person. Dee Dee loves to play - with her toys, fetch, but most of all with the resident dog, a male, six-year-old Havanese. They play fight and chase each other around the house and yard. In a previous foster home, she got along well with two larger female dogs and a cat. She can be pouncy while playing, so she would prefer a home where cats are willing to engage in play. Although she is energetic and curious about her surroundings, she also loves quiet times, snuggling up on the couch or in bed. She is house trained and has the free run of the house. She has not had a single accident in her foster home and has not destroyed anything! Well, maybe some of her toys do not look quite as pristine anymore. Outdoors, Dee Dee is enthusiastic about everything she sees and smells - squirrels, rabbits, turkeys, people and dogs are of great interest to her. She is still learning about her leash manners. She can be reactive to some dogs, charging and barking at them. However, she stops pulling and barking when told so. Dee Dee is intelligent and willing to learn, very adaptable and would thrive in a variety of homes - as long as there is someone to love on! Dee Dee loves to sleep in the bed with you (at least in the beginning of the night) so we are seeking someone who is fine with that.
