Story
Hi, my name is Bess, and I’m a quiet, ladylike Chihuahua mix who has quickly become one of Tracy’s favorites. I came from the streets, which is probably why I’m so grateful for every bit of kindness. I’m not a demanding dog at all—truly, all I want is someone who will be gentle and good to me. I was starving when I arrived here and now weigh 14 lbs. I should probably lose a pound or two but it's so hard. I do not like diets. I get along beautifully with everyone. You’ll often find me sitting back and observing while the other dogs act like little wild things, and I’m perfectly content just watching the show. What I really dream of is having a home of my own and a cozy lap to curl up on. I am Chagas positive, but please don’t let that scare you. I’m already doing great on treatment, it’s inexpensive to maintain, and I’m nearly halfway through it. I feel wonderful and just need someone willing to love me through the rest of my journey. You can find more information about Chagas on Tracy's website www.TracysPawsRescue.org. Bess is located in our shelter in Hondo, Texas. Bess is also available for transport to St. Petersburg, FL on February 21, 2026 with an approved application. Adoption fee is $450 which includes the transport fee. You can learn more about us or apply for me on our website. I hope you’ll give a little lady like me a chance—I’ve been waiting for someone just like you. 💛 Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular Deworming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip

Breed listings are our best guess, based on appearance.

Story
Charm is a sweet little 3 month old puppy from the border of Mexico. She came in with her siblings but only her and her are left. She is going to be small. We do not know who the parents are but they must have been small dogs. Charm loves to explore, play with toys and snuggle in your arms. In true Chihuahua fashion, she's clever and eager to learn. She would thrive in a home where she gets plenty of playtime, attention and love. If you would like to make this sweet dog part of your family, please review our adoption process and complete an application. Charm is available for our February 21st transport to St. Petersburg, FL. The total cost is $500 which includes the transport fee. Every dog adopted through Tracys Paws Rescue receives: Chagas, heartworm and tick testing (when age-appropriate) All core vaccines (age-appropriate) Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives Regular deworming Spay/neuter surgery Microchip Breed listings are our best guess, based on appearance. Charm is too young for heartworm/Chagas testing. This puppy is under 16 weeks as of 1/7/26. Because this puppy is from the state of Texas, an area epidemic for Chagas disease...we strongly recommend that they be tested once they reach at least 16 weeks of age. Please familiarize yourself with Chagas disease and the importance of early detection.

Story
Elton — A Playful Little Comeback Kid Elton was rescued from the Weslaco shelter alongside his mom and his dad, Bowie. When they arrived, all three were struggling with mange, but with care, love, and treatment, they’re well on their way back to their beautiful, fluffy selves. Elton is a bright, happy puppy with a loving heart and a playful spirit. He’s the kind of little guy who wants to be part of everything — exploring, cuddling, learning, and soaking up attention. Like most young pups, he would benefit from a basic puppy obedience class, which will help him grow into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be. This sweet boy has already overcome so much, and now he’s ready for a forever family who will cheer him on as he continues to thrive. Elton is all love, all joy, and all heart. Elton is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to St Petersburg, FL on February 21st. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $500. Story
Molly: Sweet and Gentle's Story Meet Molly, a petite, soft-hearted long-coat Chihuahua mix is ready for a quieter life where she can finally feel safe and loved. At 17 pounds and just about 2 years old, Molly has all the makings of a little best friend—gentle, sweet, and happiest when she’s close to her person. Molly was found on the expressway, and while we don’t know much about her past, we can tell you this: She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She can be a little nervous when hands come in for pets, as if she’s still learning that kindness is the rule now—not the exception. With a patient adopter and a soft lap, she settles in beautifully and will continue to thrive with someone who’s home a lot and has time to help her continue to build the confidence she has already started to show. Molly’s eyes have shown some tear staining, but we’re already working on it, and it doesn’t take away from what she truly is: A beautiful little soul who just wants to be cherished. Molly will not do well in a home where people are gone all the time. She’s the kind of girl who’s looking for a lifestyle with couch time, companionship, and calm comfort—the simple things that mean everything to a dog who’s been through too much. Molly is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to St Petersburg, FL on February 21st. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost. Molly is Heartworm + but will be treated prior to adoption. CHAGAS negative. If you would like to apply for Molly, you can apply online at tracyspawsrescue.org. Story
Meet Justin, a handsome short-coat Chihuahua mix with a warm brown coat, soulful eyes, and the kind of face that always looks like he’s listening closely to you. At 17 pounds and about 6 years old, Justin is the perfect “small-but-sturdy” sidekick—made for couch snuggles, movie nights, and being your constant little shadow. Justin came from a heartbreaking situation, He was left behind in an apartment with a bunch of other dogs in a hoarding environment, and he’s been starved for attention ever since. In the best way possible, Justin simply cannot get close enough to his person and wants to be right next to you. He’ll let you know how much he needs that connection. He’s affectionate, sweet, and genuinely happiest when he’s included in whatever you’re doing and doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. Because of what he’s been through, Justin will not do well in a home where people are gone all the time. He’s looking for someone with a lifestyle that allows for steady companionship, the kind of home where he can follow you around, curl up beside you, and finally feel like he belongs. If you’ve been wanting a best buddy who’s always happy to see you and eager to share your everyday life, Justin is your man. Justin is heartworm negative and Chagas negative.
