She has quite a story and has been through so much. We received an urgent plea from a county shelter to save her. Poor Daisy was a stray in a neighborhood for weeks and the saddest part is she was born with luxating patella's aka her knees were out of the joint. It was so painful to watch her even walk when we rescued her. The fact this scared dog was a stray with this deformity broke our heart. Fast forward to today our rescue paid to have her surgery done and it was a success. Daisy is doing great is no and is no pain anymore and very happy Daisy is nervous at first and is a typical chihuahua, fearful at first and then strongly protective and loving. Daisy loves to cuddle on our extra large pet bed we have. She is healthy and loves our foster dad dearly. We are looking for that special perfect family with a fenced in yard and love and empathy for our girl Daisy to give her a forever home. Daisy is estimated to be about 3 years and is 14lb. Daisy is a female tri color chihuahua mix. She is spayed, up to date on all her shots, heartworm flea preventatives, dewormed and microchipped!  Please only apply if you are willing to be patient and let her decompress. Daisy is the definition of perseverance and hope. We love her so much and we know you'll love her too Daisy is housetrained and great with dogs and cats. Daisy's adoption donation is only 300.00! Story
Almond is confused why he isn’t adopted yet!! Almond is a sweet 10-month-old Chihuahua mix looking for his forever home in Los Angeles, California. Almond’s story almost ended too soon. He was on the brink of being euthanized at a shelter simply because he was too scared in that overwhelming environment. But Almond was given a second chance, and with the love and care of his foster family, he is slowly blossoming into the loving companion he was always meant to be. Now, Almond is in a foster home where he’s learning that humans can be kind and trustworthy. He’s fully vetted, house trained, and ready to start the next chapter of his life. Almond is a true survivor, and with the right family, he will continue to grow into the confident, playful pup he’s meant to be. Almond is dog and human approved—he gets along well with both! However, he is still learning to be comfortable on leash and will thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can explore and build his confidence in a safe space. If you’re looking to welcome a sweet, resilient dog into your life, Almond could be the one. He’s ready to give his heart to the right family, and all he needs is someone to show him love and patience. Almond is available for adoption in or near the Los Angeles area. To make him a part of your family, please fill out an adoption application today: www.compassionkind.org/adopt   ##2308085##

Story
Kima is thriving in foster care! This 2-year-old, 8-lb pup is spayed, UTD on vetting, and loves attention. She enjoys playing with her foster's small dogs and thrives with canine companionship. While she’s mostly good with cats, she may chase if they run. Kima is still fearful of the leash and working on potty training. Having spent her life in a pen with 35 dogs, she’s now discovering the joys of indoor living—chewing included! She needs a patient home, ideally with another small dog, and someone who appreciates her happy, puppy-like energy. Apply to adopt at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUVR/Dog All of our adoptable rescues have a clean bill of health (unless otherwise stated), are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriately), tested (FeLV/FIV for cats, HW for dogs over 6 months of age), current on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped. This is all included in their adoption fee that goes in as a donation to help us cover their medical costs and continue to help other animals in need. Any questions, concerns and suggestions, please feel free to contact us at ALDR@animalluvrs.org.

Story
Meet Gizmo 🐾 Gizmo is a handsome 1-year-old boy that weighs in at 18 pounds. Gizmo is VERY high energy and will need an active family and, ideally, a sturdy playmate! 🐶 He is very good with other dogs, but he is still very much a puppy and needs to learn to respect "personal space" 🫣. His favorite hobbies are running in the yard and keeping a collection of chewies. 🦴 He very much loves to be around his people, but takes a long moment to settle into new situations. Small children seem to be a lot for him, so a family with older children would be best. Apply to adopt at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUVR/dog All of our adoptable rescues have a clean bill of health (unless otherwise stated), are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriately), tested (FeLV/FIV for cats over 8 months of age, HW for dogs over 6 months of age), current on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped. ADOPT US 🐾 💘 Holly and Donner 💘 This adorable pair of chihuahua mix dogs are bonded and looking for a home together. They both found themselves at the county shelter with their 5 very young puppies when a citizen came upon them in a vacant lot back in December. Thankfully, they were safe just in time as temps outside were freezing that night. Holly is very sweet and cuddly. Donner is also affectionate and a bit more playful and they love to snuggle and play together. He is protective overall of his people/home and must be put away when strangers enter the home or he may go after them. With careful, supervised introduction he is good with new people as long as they do not enter the property or the home unexpected. He is extremely loyal and just thinks he is doing his job to keep his family safe. They both may chase cats for fun, but overall get along with dogs and cats that won’t be bothered by them. 🐶🐱 Donner has undergone heartworm treatment and both are fixed, microchipped and are up to date on their vaccines. Story
🐾 Padme & Anakin 🐾 These two sweet Chihuahuas were found together as strays during Hurricane Milton. They are bonded and must be adopted together. Padme is 2-3 years old, tiny, and quirky. She’s nervous with loud noises and fast movements but finds comfort in her buddy, Anakin. She loves gentle snuggles once she feels safe. Anakin, about 5-6 years old, is full of personality and kisses! He loves to be held, run, and jump. Both are fully vetted, recently had dentals, and Anakin has completed heartworm treatment. They’re great with everyone they have met - includinging dogs, cats, and gentle kids. They can be a little possessive of laps or protective of each other to other dogs —classic loyal Chi behavior. They’ll need a patient home, as they’re easily startled and still working on potty training. They must be leashed outside, as they may run if/when something spooks them.

These pups are in Tampa, Florida too!

Oliver is 11 and he looks young for that age. He is really chill when there’s not a lot of people or other dogs around. He does get bad anxiety in storms and fire works and is anxious a lot of the time but again, is relaxed in a relaxed space. Ideal home is a more chill environment.
