Story
OTHER PETS: Lindsay is dog reactive (meaning she will bark and lunge to create space) when she feels threatened. Because of this, she would do best as the only pet in the home, where she can feel safe and secure without the stress of animal interactions. [Should Be Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Lindsay would do best with someone that has experience with positive reinforcement to help a dog-reactive dog feel more comfortable while providing the management that she may require. [Some Experience]KIDS: Lindsay has exhibited resource guarding around her food and high-value treats while at the shelter, so she needs to be left alone while she eats her meals or while she's enjoying any kind of treat in order to avoid creating unnecessary conflict. She would do best in a home with no children and adults that can understand how to interact with her, and when to leave her alone. [Adults Only]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lindsay loves to play and run around with her favorite people! She'll eagerly jump up into your lap for attention, and then jump off to chase after a ball at the drop of a hat. She's got a high energy level for a smaller dog, and will do best with someone that can keep up with her activity while also providing her with necessary mental enrichment to keep her healthy and happy. [Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Lindsay is still at the beginning of her positve training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer patience while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Lindsay not only learn her basic cues, but also help her to feel more comfortable and confident in herself! It will provide a good opportunity for her to bond with her new owner as well. [Moderate]GROOMING: Routine brushing will help to minimize shedding within the home. [Minimal]December 16, 2025, 3:10 pm

Story
Ms. Precious — there truly couldn’t be a more fitting name for this sweet little soul   Ms. Precious is a 12-pound apple-head Chihuahua, about 4 years old, with the gentlest heart. She adores being part of a family and enjoys the company of both humans and other animals. Her early life lacked the love and attention she deserved, so when she first arrived in foster care, she needed a little extra TLC and patience to learn that people could be trusted. Once she did, she never looked back—and now she’s a happy, affectionate girl who loves deeply.   She’s fully vaccinated and spayed. Vet visits were scary for her at first due to past experiences, but with a muzzle and reassurance she handled it well, and she continues to grow more confident as her trust builds.   Ms. Precious does well with both dogs and cats, though she can be a bit intimidated by more dominant animals and benefits from gentle reassurance. She is incredibly sweet, calm, and soft-natured. She spent most of her life using potty pads, but she can go outside and has already shown that with consistency and routine, she can be housebroken. She’s smart, eager, and absolutely trainable.   She may bark at tall men initially—tail wagging the whole time—clearly wanting to be friends but needing a little time to feel safe. With proper introductions and patience, she warms up beautifully. She loves toys, happily lines up for treats with the rest of the pack, and is not a picky eater at all. She seems grateful for everything, big or small.   Ms. Precious loves to snuggle and would happily stay right by her person’s side, though she also does fine on her own during quiet time. She will make an incredible companion for someone ready to give her the love she’s always deserved. Give her a chance, and she’ll repay you with endless devotion, gratitude, and a whole lot of heart—for her furever home.   ##2616063##
