Story
BLANCHE-MEDICAL7 year old female chihuahua not good with cats, can be god with dogs after introductions, basics of Pottey training.this little girl is an active young lady but does love snuggling also. She does have a heart murmur and is on medication for her heart. She is now also on seizure medication. She is bossy so meeting new dogs she can be sassy. She loves to snuggle under her covers. She is a barker so would not do well in apartments. If interested, please fill out an application. Please note we do not have a central kennel facility, all of our pets are located in foster homes. The first step in meeting one of our furry friends is to fill out an application on our website at www.rainbowrescues.org. Story
Anndalina 11 YEARS OLD. Chi mix. black with white, no kids, no cats, okay with some dogs, basics of potty training. Needs fenced in yard and no apartments. Anndalina came to us as an emergency surrender. This poor girl was trying to chew her tail off and needed emergency treatment. We rushed her into our vet and it was determined her tail would need to be amputated to prevent any infection from spreading. We whisked her into surgery and brought her back to one of our foster homes. Anndalina has had a rough beginning to her life and she will need a patient and understanding home to help her become the dog we know she can be. We would recommend she go to a child free home and a home where her Chihuahua bark will not be a problem. A nice quiet couple or single person would be the ideal place for her as she can become overwhelmed with too many visitors. Once she bonds to her people she is very affectionate but it will take a while for this nervous girl to settle into any new home and she will need to be given time to calm and adjust. Please note we do not have a central kennel facility, all of our pets are located in foster homes. The first step in meeting one of our furry friends is to fill out an application on our website at www.rainbowrescues.org. Story
Bella can take a while to warm up to new people, but once she's comfortable she'll never let you out of her sight. She can be clingy and will whine and howl when left alone, so she's not a good candidate for apartment living, but she settles well when she's given a soft bed and a quiet space. OTHER PETS: Bella can get overwhelmed by overly energetic dogs, but might be playful with a dog that can match her own energy level. She would likely get along best with a calmer dog that will let her have her own space when she wants it. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Bella would likely do best with someone that has experience taking things slowly with timid dogs. She can be nervous when interacting with new people, so someone that knows what body language to look out for would be ideal in order to minimize the chance of her feeling like she needs to defend herself. [Some Experience]KIDS: While Bella is very tolerant in regards to physical handling, she startles easily and may snap if pushed too far too soon. Bella would be most comfortable in a home with only adults, in order to avoid any risk to young kids or unnecessary stress. [Adults Only]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Bella is a big lover of her favorite person's personal space! She'll hop into their lap and jump up to their face to get as close as she possibly can. While it might take her a while to fully settle into her new environment, once she's comfortable she'll be all about running and playing with her people. [Couch Potato / Good Walking Buddy]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Bella is still at the beginning of her positive reinforcement training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Bella not only learn her basic cues, but also help her to feel more comfortable and confident in herself! It will provide a good opportunity for her to bond with her new owner as well. [Minimal]GROOMING: Routine brushing will help to minimize shedding in the home. [Minimal]May 8, 2025, 12:58 pm

If you would like to apply to take PENNY home, click the link next to their picture, or Visit our website at Www.godogsgorescue.org and fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you. Penny is approximately 2 years old and weighs 9.6lbs She came into the rescue pregnant, and it’s now time for her to find her forever home. She was surrendered to animal control by her owner who went into hospital along with 6 others who have also also found homes now. Penny is a little timid, it’s just under exposure to life, she is NOT a nipper like some small dogs can be, she just freezes and gives the wide eye look. After a couple of days she’s super friendly and would make a great lap dog. A quieter home with no small children would be best, for her sake not theirs. She’s a little sweetheart.

Story
Hi everyone! My name is Willow and I am just the sweetest little lady who will do my best to keep you on your toes! I was brought to the humane society when my owner passed away and no family members could take me on. I love to play with other dogs, although I should not live with them since I do not like to share my items or attention with them. What can I say? I`m a princess and I feel I should be treated as such! I`m okay with cats though, as tend to ignore them. I love to carry around my favorite stuffed Sock Monkey toy, which everyone thinks is just so cute! I am doing well with my house training and basic obedience. I love to go outside with my humans and bask in the sun while on nice long walks or while hiking. I would prefer a home with kids that are 6 years and older, as I can be a little worried about quick movements and loud noises initially, but will recover quickly. If you think I could be a good fit for you and your family, please call the kennel staff at (413) 447-7878 ext.126.Dogs: Can have friends/playdates, but not live withCats: Ok!Kids: 6 years+Weight: 16.6 lbs.
