Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.I have been trying to post this little boy for more than a week and just do not know what to say about his breed.  His mother is an 11 pound, 4 year old Chihuahua.  She was picked up from the streets after giving birth in a field.  I got her and the 2 boys when they were just 1 week old.  They have been in my home thriving greatly. Since momma was out in the streets we do not know who daddy is, sorry.  Bobby is 4.6 pounds and 9 weeks old.  He does favor mom.  He is 2 pounds lighter than his brother Boots.  I have included a picture of mom. They play constantly and love when I let them out of the puppy play pen to play with the bigger dogs.  They run zoomies all around the living room.   These are very very good and loving puppies and should make great family pets whatever they are mixed with. Both boys have had 2 vaccinations and due their 3rd one next week so they will come fully vaccinated, neutered, dewormed and microchipped.  They are too young right now for a rabies. We transport to most state across the country.  Thank you for looking. If interested, please submit an application on our website at www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         April 23, 2024, 6:45 pm

Story
ADOPTED!!! This cute little nugget is Henry.  He is 3 years old and weighs 10 pounds and will not get any bigger.  Henry is a sweetheart, loves to cuddle and he is a quiet Chihuahua.  You hardly know that he is there.  He gets along with all of the other foster dogs in the home big and small.  And he is okay with cats. He walks well on a leash and does not get car sick.  Henry would love to snuggle up with you and be your best buddy.  He is very low maintenance on a daily basis.  He has been medically vetted and his medical records come with him at the time of adoption. If you are interested in adopting Henry, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you for looking. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes. Story
This guy cracks his foster mom up.  Although he is playful with the other foster dogs in the home, Calvin acts as if he is the stepdad to everyone.  He does not tolerate any fussing among the dogs as he thinks he is the only one that can do the fussing.  He can be grouchy sometimes.  He still loves to be held and cuddle up next to you for some love. Calvin is 3 years old and 15 pounds.  We are not sure what he is mixed up but he will not grow anymore.  This touch guy is a heartworm survivor.  We pulled Calvin from our city's very high kill shelter when no one wanted him because he was heartworm positive.  His foster mom is glad she pulled him and saved his life as he has been a good houseguest.  He has successfully gone through 2 treatments to get rid of those pesky heartworms.  Calvin is ready for his own home now so he can be the boss.  He walks well on a leash and  does not get car sick.  I will try to get some better pictures of him from his foster mom and hopefully a video to share but I wanted to get him posted so he can find a home where he does not have to share all of the love. If you are interested in Calvin, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes. Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.ADOPTED!! This little guy is a softee in touch and feelings.  His temperament is great, he gets along with all of his foster siblings big and small.  He is potty trained but I let him out often so he does not have an accident but I cannot guarantee that in a new environment with a different schdule, he may have accidents.  But right now he loves to run out the back door when it is time to go potty. OLIVER is a 4 month old long hair Chihuahua mix but I am not sure what he is mixed with.  This poor guy has already been through some rough times as someone abandoned him at a grocery store all by himself.  Luckily a vet tech at the Animal Hosptial that I go to saw him and rescued him.  He weighs 5 pounds and no doubt will stay a little dog as an adult. He is super playful but a very quiet little guy, not a barker at all.  He plays with toys and loves treats.  I will try to get better pictures and a video of him. Story
Courage comes in many forms and we at DSR think the canine variety is the best form there is. Our boy Courage is a splendid little dude that has lots of charm and a great capacity to love. The missing piece in his life is a family to call his own. Finding his place in his world with what we can assume was a rough past can be a challenge, but he is not discouraged but rather very optimistic in the prospects of the future. Courage is a 5-year-old chihuahua mix at a mere 14 pounds. Courage has a shy demeanor with first introductions, and it will take time and lots of gentleness to earn his trust. He will need a family that will take baby steps with encouragement for him to find his way to a level of comfort. Once he is comfortable, the love pours out and he will be the apple of your eye. When he is not resting on a cozy bed or in the lap of his human, Courage does well with the company of other dogs and children, but it is unknown how his approach to cats would be at this time. With his medium energy level, he will enjoy walks in the neighborhood, strolls through the park or some playtime with friends and family. He is working on his house, crate and leash training. Courage knows that it will take time and effort to follow through and become a master of this skill set. He looks forward to his family to provide the guidance that he will need to accomplish his goals. His love knows no bounds. His optimism will be his guiding light and the love of his forever family will be the source of his courage to learn to trust and be loved by his forever family. Courage is ready to move forward and take the next step. The adoption fee for Courage is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. Story
Scotty is such a special little man, a real gentleman. Easygoing, adorable, charming, fun, playful, affectionate, walks well on leash, does great with other dogs and was very respectful towards the cat we introduced him to. He is a little gem who will make a lucky someone very happy. His journey into rescue started when we received an urgent phone call from a local veterinarian's office asking if we could accept him into our rescue. We were told that his owner carried him into the vet's office with a very severe eye issue, placed him down, and turned around and walked out. All done without a word, leaving this poor little pup abandoned. We are grateful, however, that the person that left him, at least brought him to a safe place where he could be properly helped. Without hesitation, we said yes of course we will take him. The vet's office did a fantastic job performing surgery to remove his eye that could not be saved, and by the next day he stole the hearts of the entire vet's office. He has healed beautifully and is now ready for his forever home! We believe him to be a chihuahua mix, around 3-4 years old. He weighs 12 lbs, is up to date with vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped. If interested in adopting Scotty, please email us for an application at adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org Please note we are always in need of foster homes for our dogs. If interested in making a difference in a dog's life we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent.

Story
Sometimes we never know what we will see when we start up our car and leave the safety of our homes and our beloved pets that wait for us to return.  Sometimes what we see on the road is disturbing and downright WRONG.     This pair of Chihuahuas were discovered by one of our faithful rescue fosters as she traveled a back country road that was mostly farmland and very few  houses on the road.  First she say the little white chihuahua in the road and he ran from her and wouldn’t let her catch him.  She tried for a while.  Then she went to the nearest house and talked to a man who was out in his yard about this white Chihuahua.  He told her who owned the land where the dog was seen running and so a few days later she went back determined to ride up and down the road until she could see the dog again.  Well there were TWO little chihuahuas now; white and black and tan.  She found the owners of the land and asked them about the Chis and was told they were dropped off by some unknown person and that they had been up in their barn trying to eat the cow feed. They were abandoned and soon our rescue foster trapped them and brought them home to change their life forever.  We are getting them vetted and neutered and spayed 1/26. WE NEED FOSTER HELP!   The white boy is very shy and the black and tan is a female and the “protector” of her male friend.  Help us give them a short term place to stay while we look for a permanent and forever loving home!  Can you help for a few weeks?  Please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  They can be fostered in Nashville, TN or even in the New England area.  We transport weekly and just need someone to show them kindness, love and stability.  They will be ever so grateful!   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 23, 2024, 4:30 pm

Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.ADOPTED!! This is a beautiful boy who is just the best little thing.  He only weighs 16 pounds and the vet has guestimated his age to be 2 years old.  RIO was dumped at an elementary school of which my girlfriend is a teacher.  She called me that people had just dumped him. RIO came into my home with the best manners, quiet and obedient.  He sticks really close to me but does not get in the way.  2 of the male foster dogs bark at him but he does not react, he retreats and ignores them.  RIO does not have a bad bone in his body, no aggression anywhere.  He is housetrained and pottytrained.  He hates going into the crate which I use sparingly.  I put him in the crate yesterday to take him to be neutered and he had a fit.  He really is trustworthy around the house when I am gone. RIO likes to cuddle with me while I am watching TV on the couch.  He walks very well on the leash without pulling and rides in the car without getting sick.  If you are interested in adopted RIO please submit an application on the website below. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.
