Story
ROC the Dogs has a very special girl up for adoption! **PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST BEFORE INQUIRING ABOUT MONA **Mona is a three and a half year old chihuahua with no major health issues. Mona is going to need a very understanding adopter. Mona came from a home where she was regularly tormented by the six kids that lived there. As a result, she bit a child and was forced to live in a closet for 2 years. Mona is VERY nervous about meeting new people. And I can promise you that a meet and greet will by very iffy. Mona spent the first week at my house hiding behind the couch and snapping at me and trying to bite me. She'll do the same to any potential adopter. But after that week, she will be your BFF and she will be the most amazing little companion! I like to refer to her as "spicy". 😂Given her history with children, we insist that Mona go to a home with no children. She is great with other dogs! Even cats. Given her fears, Mona can be challenging at the vet and groomer. All I can say about that is good luck to you. She has fit seamlessly into my home and routine. Having company can be a challenge due to her "stranger danger" attitude. Mona has a home with me for as long as it takes to find her perfect family. If you're not too scared.......I mean, if you're interested in meeting Mona fill out an application. However, we will be very choosy when helping her find her forever home. Also, please be aware that Mona is not housebroken, and she apparently doesn't care either. Please submit an Adoption Application here: www.rocthedogsrescue.com

Story
Please contact the Dog Team (dogcoordinator@graspinc.org) for more information about this pet.DOB: 11/2/2012   Hi, I’m Louie! I am 9lbs, I still have so much life in me and love to give! My favorite pastime is snuggling with my person or taking a nap. I also love eating soft treats like Pupperoni.     Sometimes my mom puts sweaters on me, and I don’t usually mind. However, most of my style comes from my belly bands/diapers she puts on me when I’m in the house. I go potty when I’m let outside, but I do have a tendency to mark in the house frequently as I have not been neutered yet (but now that I’m with GRASP I’ll be neutered soon), so diapers will be important. I’m okay with cats, and I’m usually okay with dogs that are more quiet and lower in energy. I do not do well around dogs with a lot of energy. I’m not sure yet how I am around children so I don’t plan to move into a house with young kids. I’m looking for a family who will let me love and snuggle with them on the couch and in bed for the rest of my long life!     His adoption fee is $200.  March 27, 2024, 12:50 am

Story
Vixen you say??? That is my name?? I mean, ok, female fox is kind of appropriate, I am kind of like a fox in appearance- my ears can really detect solar flares :D But if you mean a "shrew" or a "sexy woman" then you better just move along because I don't identify that way!! I am just a young chihuahua with a sorted and painful past, looking forward to a HAPPY and LOVING FUTURE :) I came from the pound with a broken front leg and nerve damaged so I couldn't use it and it was getting injured constantly :( So, the rescue had that leg amputated and guess what?? I am SO MUCH happier without it! I am still first in the chow line, in the "out the door to explore" line and I am definitely first in the CUDDLE line!! So no problems noted here :) I love kids and love all adults and other dogs.... however, I like to eat alone- apparently I had to fight for my food, so I am possessive during eating time- no problemo, my foster feeds me in a crate and all is good! I have a foster "brother" who is about a year old and keeps me happy, I love him very much too! I am the best girl and am ready for the best home!!! ADOPT ME SOON!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Grandpa Lucky I have the weirdest name. What is that? "Grandpa Lucky. Sounds like I had a lot of luck in my short life, but I am not quite sure of all that. I just look like a Grandpa because I have lived outside most of the time and it is hard on a fella. I am only about 6 years old we think. First off, I was fished out of a river and taken to the city dog pound. I can't tell you how I got into the river, but foster mom suspects I had a little help with that. Well, it was lucky that I got fished out, but then I went to the city pound where I had 3 days before my time was up...literally. But then I got lucky again because foster mom saw me and just had to have me to foster so I got a ticket out of there. I was a pretty skinny dude when she got me, and it wasn't too long before she discovered that I love to eat. She noticed that I was having a little trouble walking on my back legs and that wasn't so good so when we got me checked out, it turns out that I have a little compression of my T4 to T6 vertebrae, whatever that is. Not good. But the vet lady said that nothing needed to be done for that so that was lucky. So, when I get a little tired, I hop like a bunny and the other times when I feel good, I walk like a regular dog. I had some tests done on my blood and I have worms living in my heart of all places. I am told that is not good. But it is lucky for me that foster mommy is giving me the medicines to kill those little varmints over time and not all at once. She said it is easier on me if we do it this way. Plus, it is lucky that I get the medicine in a little bit of tasty food that I love. Did I tell you I like to eat? About that, foster mommy tells me I can't gain too much weight, or it will be too hard on my joints and back and that won't be good. Aren't I lucky to have her to take care of me? The one complaint I have with foster mommy is that she doesn't have enough time to let me sleep in her lap during the day. I would like to have a lap in my new forever home and someone who will love me as much as foster mommy does. Because of the medicines that I am taking to kill the worms in my heart, we are looking for a forever home in the San Antonio area so I wouldn't have to travel so far. Besides having a lap to sleep in during the day, I want to sleep in the bed with you at night. I can't jump off the bed though but being with you all the time is what I want. Then I would really feel lucky! $200 Local adoption fee (in Texas)
