Billy is a very sweet but shy boy who barely escaped death with his buddy Butch. They were already in the euth room in a shelter in Texas, but fortunately we were able to pull them just in time. Billy and Butch were roaming the streets with a few other dogs when they were picked up by ACS. It has been a rough start to life for these two, but we are hoping they will find a wonderful family to show them that life can be good and not all humans are bad or scary. They are definitely bonded and must be kept together. Billy adjusted pretty quickly, but little Butch is frightened and less trusting and will take a little longer to warm up. Butch was so frightened when arriving to us, but who wouldnt have been. Picked up as a stray with his buddy, Billy. Taken to the shelter where he was minutes from losing his life. Then transported across the country with lots of other barking and frightened pups. It’s been a whirlwind of stressful events. But even so, Butch began to relax slightly after a few days and after a week he allowed us to touch him. It just takes a little time and patience. Billy warms up a lot faster, but with time these two will be a delightful addition to any family. We are looking for someone with the time and patience to bring the best out in this sweet boy who Wants so badly to trust and believe there is good that exists in this scary world. At not quite three weeks we are now receiving kisses from Butch. Both boys are vaccinated, neutered, flea and tick treated and microchipped. I have not been around cats or kids to know how I would do around them yet. I am house trained and am working on crate training, and because my crate still makes a little nervous, I would prefer to be confined to a small, safe space like a laundry room or kitchen while you’re gone for the workday. I am learning to walk on my leash too. I am still a little nervous when there are too many sounds, but when I do an early morning walk and it's quiet my foster mom says I do really well. I seem to learn best when I am around other dogs (I really like to play with my fur siblings), so I would thrive really well in a home with another dog. One of my favorite things to do is play and get my young dog energy out. I love cheese and bones and I really enjoy cuddling. I also like to lounge around, go to the park and take my calm walks. I cannot wait to find my very own active family who will give me all the love and attention I deserve and who will be patient with me as I learn what being a dog means. This little pretty has not had an easy go of it, as she spent many days in emergency care for Parvo and then some (over $8,000 in vet bills!) Pretty Girl is healthy now and making up for lost time. She is a petite princess and can sometimes be bossy with other dogs. She has had some exposure to cats in her current foster home. The cats there do not put up with dog nonsense. She is ready to have all your attention to herself. She can be a little timid and unsure so she will need to have your heart and your time. Because of her rough past, she can be a flight risk. She will need a physical 3 foot fenced yard that she cannot escape from and since she is so tiny, their can't be any spaces she will fit through. Pretty Girl is still working on leash training so a secured area will be the safest place to get her used to her new family and a leash. Just be patient with her and you won’t be disappointed. Poor Toby was abused by his previous owners and then left behind to fend for himself after the abusers moved out. Toby is doing great learning to trust humans. Toby is dog selective when it comes to other dogs but is fine with most dogs his size. Toby is doing great on crate training and can be crated after his foster mom worked with him on crating. Toby knows how to use a doggy door and will use a pee pad if he doesn't have access to the doggy door. Toby is very smart and loves all the attention he can get. He loves to spend time hanging out on your lap for love and attention. Toby would be great as an only dog or could coexist with a friendly dog of his choice of course! This handsome guy who is now part of our Foster to Adopt Program is receiving so much love in his current foster home. She says he is such a sweetheart! Prince was previously part of DASH's Prison Training Program where he learned his basic puppy manners. He is a lot of fun, loves to play and gets along with other dogs. He can be very vocal at times, especially when he sees someone so he would not be the best fit for an apartment. He enjoys an occasional visit on the furniture and can be a little sound sensitive.
