Story
Peach is an 8 year old, 9 pound mannerly lady Chihuahua mix. She is a loving lap girl and will fill your heart with joy. She is fostered in Tigard, OR. She is house trained on a good schedule, crate trained, and is a good little walker. We are seeking a home with fenced yard for Peach. She needs a great potty routine. She is crate trained for nighttime and enjoys her open-doored crate for resting. Peach has a spunky, sweet and loving personality. She is excited to start a new day when greeted and will bark, but is not otherwise a barker. She is spayed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, had a dental one year ago, is heartworm negative, and has lab work. She comes with her own belongings: harness, crate, leash, stuffy, bed. Peach gets along with other dogs, but would also love being the only apple of your eye. A great home and must haves for this sweet little lady include: 1. A home with fenced yard where she can potty under cover in the rain and where she is not alone long hours. 2. An adopter/family who will make sure that she gets great nutrition and vet care as she ages and will keep her trim. 3. Love. That is what Peach likes! If you meet the above criteria and think that Peach would make a great companion, please inquire or apply: 1. To inquire please email awoofovermyhead@gmail.com with 'Peach' in the subject line. Tell us a bit about yourself and how Peach will fit into your life. Leave us a phone number and we will reach out promptly. Story
Rocky is available through Project POOCH. If you are interested in adoption, learn more and submit an application at pooch.org/adoptable-dogs This dapper young man is quite the gentleman and loves to be greeted each morning. He asks that you come to him and crouch down so that he might say hi. He loves playing, he will bring you his stuffies to tug with, or even throw for a round of fetch. But most of all, he loves you! Rocky is the kind of dog who just wants be involved. He would love to be your little shadow and a part of your life. Whether that is playing tug, romping in the hard, or binge watching The Office for the umpteenth time, Rocky is down to be your buddy. Rocky came to Project POOCH with his littermate, Bullwinkle. While they were originally considered to be a bonded pair, we have seen both dogs shine with some solo time and they've really enjoyed not being lumped in with the other. While they might do good in a home with space for them each to be their own, they have been flying solo at POOCH and blossoming into their own dogs. Interested in meeting Rocky? Fill out an application for a meet and greet! https://www.pooch.org/adoption-application

Asphalt is available through Project POOCH—learn more at pooch.org/asphalt Asphalt is an adventurous little guy! Don't be the one to try to tell him that little dogs don't do big dog things. He is always eager to join the guys on the walks, is a blast to train, and believes in balancing his work with equal enthusiasm for play. At only 6 lbs, Asphalt rewrites expectations that small dogs are only purse dogs. He joins in on the walks and is a good partner to strut with. The youth are perfecting his leash manners, and he continues to learn more each day. He is, however, still very much ok with being catered to when the time is right. (He even trained some of the youth to wear the sling during chore time so he could stick right by them.) Due to his small stature, Asphalt is looking for an adopter who will respect his autonomy and get consent before attempting to pick him up or leash him. He needs someone who will give him time to warm up and get comfortable in his new environment. If you are willing to do that, he will be your best friend! If you're looking for a pint-sized dog to show up big dogs in the trick department, Asphalt could be a great fit for you. He is incredibly treat-motivated and learns quickly. He's been working on adding to his trick list while at POOCH and would love to show them off to you! Because of his small size and his desire for humans to move slowly with him, a home with small children would not be a good fit. Asphalt is available through Project POOCH—learn more at pooch.org

Story
Meet Tater Tot!Tater is still looking for his family! Tater Tot is a 2 year old, neutered, house trained chihuahua mix around 13 pounds. He is enthusiastic, playful, and a total kid lover. Tater cuddles up tight in blankets and sleeps all night. He is not crate trained. Instead, he stays quietly in there living room, curled up on a bed or the couch. Tater loves going for walks and doesn`t bark at other dogs when he sees them. He`s happy to meet and say hello to anyone. At home Tater will act as security, letting you know when there is someone at the door or you`ve received a delivery. More than anything- Tater loves children!Taters ideal family would have at least one child, aged 6 or older, that likes to play and cuddle! He regularly plays with a group of 8 children once a week and is thrilled about it. Tater loves playing fetch, tug o war, and chase. He is vocal when he plays and lets you know he`s having fun, with growling and some random barks. He is animated and real a joy to have around. When kids are playing out back, he stands among them as part of the group, climbs the stairs into the playhouse, and sits happily in their laps. Tater plays very well with dogs his size, too! He sometimes chases the smaller dog in the house so his size or larger would be the best animal siblings for him. Unfortunately, cats would not be a good fit.Tater is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and ready to melt more hearts! His adoption fee is $340. To meet Tater Tot, go to our website - OFOSA.ORG and fill out the Dog Adoption Application and his foster mom will be in touch.

Story
Meet adoptable Rhett! At just four months old and around four pounds, this itty-bitty sweetheart is believed to be a Chihuahua/Terrier mix. With his adorable floppy ears, curly little tail, and bright, curious eyes, Rhett is the kind of puppy who makes everyone smile the moment they meet him. Rhett is growing up in a loving foster home alongside other dogs and young children, and he’s thriving. He’s wonderful with his little human friends, happily soaking up all the cuddles, being carried around, and patiently accepting every bit of love they have to give. His gentle, tolerant nature makes him an excellent candidate for a family looking for a puppy who truly enjoys being part of the action. Watch Rhett’s video here! https://youtu.be/8C663RhiO84?si=vdY6tKGtu_nGPzUO Like any happy puppy, Rhett is full of personality! He loves to play with his dog buddies, often starting silly little wrestling matches or playfully batting at them with his tiny paws. When playtime is over, his favorite place in the world is right in your lap, where he’ll happily curl up for a cuddle. One of Rhett’s cutest quirks? He loves hanging out by the pool with his foster mom. He’s even happy to hop onto a float with her and relax, making us think he just might become a little water-loving adventurer as he grows. For now, he’s mostly curious about the water—but he’s taking it one tiny paw at a time. If you’re looking for a playful little shadow with a huge heart packed into a four-pound body, Rhett is ready to bring endless joy, laughter, and snuggles to his forever family. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6a4fcaf020352d9a270874ba Questions? Story
Meet Sassy May, a 2-year-old, 15-pound Chihuahua who has one small problem with her name: she’s really not very sassy at all. In reality, Sassy May is a sweet, quiet little lady with a gentle demeanor and an adorable face made even better by her cute little underbite and fluffy tail. When Sassy first finds herself in a new situation, she can be a little timid. She likes having some time to observe, figure things out, and make sure everything feels safe before completely letting her guard down. Give her patience and kindness, and you’ll start seeing the sweet girl hiding underneath that initial shyness. Once she’s comfortable, Sassy enjoys having fun with her buddies and has a playful side that comes out around her friends. She has that wonderful balance of being able to enjoy some playtime without needing to be the loudest or busiest dog in the room. Sassy also walks beautifully on a leash, making leisurely walks together a great way to spend some quality time with this little girl. At only 15 pounds, she’s a perfectly portable companion—but Sassy isn’t looking for someone to simply carry her around. She deserves a family who will help her experience everything that life has to offer: walks and adventures, cozy places to nap, playtime with friends, plenty of affection, and the security of knowing she finally has a home of her own. Her future family will need to understand that Sassy may not immediately walk into a new environment acting like she owns the place. Let her settle in at her own pace. Once she realizes she’s safe, you’ll get the opportunity to watch her confidence grow and her personality begin to shine. Sassy May may have the name of a little diva, but underneath that fluffy tail and adorable underbite is simply a gentle, sweet girl looking for someone who will give her the very best that life has to offer. And after everything is said and done, maybe there is one thing she can afford to be sassy about: Knowing exactly how she deserves to be treated. Visit her profile to see more about her: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6a998ffdfa03c5448c0e2541 Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Apply today!
