Story
Poetry is a darling puppy that was rescued out of California with her litter mates. She would love to live a charmed life with you! - 2.5 pounds on 1/13/26 and approximate date of birth is 11/18/25 - Possibly a Chihuahua mix. We believe she will be between 15-20 pounds full grown but cannot guarantee size at maturity. - Sweet, loving, cuddly, playful, social cutie - Getting excellent socialization with other dogs, gentle children, new sights and sounds in foster. - Prefer a future home with children ages 10+ if there are kids in the home only due to how small and fragile Poetry is. We are looking for puppy adopters who are patient, kind and committed to gradual, safe socialization. Who realize potty training a small breed puppy can take quite a bit of effort and consistency. Adoption fee includes two rounds of puppy vaccines, microchip that is free to register, multiple rounds of dewormer and flea/tick/heartworm prevention current. It also includes spay surgery between 7 months to 1 year of age at our partner vet clinic in Milwaukie or SW Portland. Also included is a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin or Portland. $450 adoption fee Fostered in Gresham, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT POETRY ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Rebecca is typical of many small breed dogs we rescue - reserved with strangers and shy initially but if given the time to blossom, really bonds with her person, is affectionate and cuddly. She will need a patient person willing to give her a few days in the home that are low pressure and allow her to warm up. She is not aggressive, just shy. - Seeking a home with another dog friend to pal around with and a fenced yard. - 17 pounds and approximately 2 years old - Possibly a Chihuahua/Cattle Dog mix - Rescued after being dumped with a group of small dogs in a rural California orchard. The whole group was trapped and rescued out of the orchard by our rescue partner before something bad happened to them. - Medium to lower energy level - Good with other dogs or could be fine solo. She is fairly indifferent to other dogs and more interested in bonding with humans. - Met a cat and was appropriate with the cat - Kids ages 12+ if there are kids in the home, only because she can be skittish and overwhelmed by a busy, noisier home. - Doing excellent with her potty habits and no potty accidents in foster when kept on a structured routine of taking her out to potty. - Comfortable in her crate. Goes in on her own to nap and sees it as a cozy, safe place. - Toy enthusiast! Loves to play with her toys. - Very smart girl who would benefit from someone willing to provide enrichment, chew toys, puzzle toys, and engage her. Treat motivated and makes friends with new people with treats. - Enjoys cuddling in bed or on the couch with her person. Rebecca has so much potential and has been in foster with us building her skills since January 4th. She's improved by leaps and bounds and just needs a nurturing, dog savvy person to help her continue to build confidence. Spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our four partner veterinary clinics. $300 adoption fee Fostered in Milwaukie, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT REBECCA ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Pepe is a 12yr old and needs a home where he can be the center of attention. Preferably with a female and no other animals. He has been the family pet, but primarily our daughters dog. She has taken very good care of him but has moved out of state and is unable to bring him with her. Pepe was a rescue dog at 6 mo. He shared our home with a couple of other pups who have since gone over the rainbow bridge. We now have a 1 1/2 year old pup and if you can imaging pup energy with a senior dog some days are a challenge. Pepe does enjoy short walks, and 1 to 1 attention and would thrive with someone who would focus only on him.

Story
Buffy is perhaps the cutest, super buff little lady ever! She was a bodybuilder in her past life for sure. She loves other dogs and is currently fostering with multiple pups and humans too. Buffy was VERY shy of humans and would hide away, but now she likes to hang around and even sleep in a human bed. She is ready to start receiving affection soon but has been hands off for the most part. Buffy needs a patient savior to be her roommate and eventually her BFF! She is spayed and vaccinated. If you are interested in Buffy and would like to give her a try, please contact colleen@startrescue.org Her adopter will need immediate access to a secure yard straight from their back door, AND another dog to help show Buffy the way! Buffy is 1.5 years old.
