Story
Hummus is a handsome, friendly little guy who was found dumped in a rural orchard area in California with a female dog. A rescuer found him and got him to safety before something bad happened to him. Hummus has been a wonderful dog since arriving to our program! - 12.5 pounds and approximately 4 years old - Chihuahua mix - Friendly with people - Good with other dogs and fostered with two other dogs currently - Likely fine with cats and we are working to try to get a cat test completed. - Doing well with his potty habits - No leash reactivity noted. He enjoys strolling along and getting all the good sniffs in during neighborhood walks. Hummus is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Portland, Milwaukie or Tualatin. $400 adoption fee Fostered in SE Portland, Oregon COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FOR HUMMUS ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Carlton is a friendly little gentleman of a dog that we rescued out of a California shelter after he came in as a stray. The shelter was out of space and euthanizing to make room. Carlton seemed like a deserving and nice little dog so we brought him to our program. - 13.5 pounds and approximately 8 years old - Likely a Chihuahua mix - Friendly, cuddly and well mannered little dog - Does well with other dogs and has been fostered with a few with no issues. - Does well with cats and has been fostered with them without issue. - Currently fostered with a 3 year old child and has been good around the child. We would recommend that kids be ages 10+ years old if there are kids in the home though. We think Carlton would likely appreciate a calmer home and sometimes very young children can be energetic and boisterous. - Excellent with his potty habits while in foster - Medium energy level. Could be happy with a daily walk to meet his exercise needs. Carlton is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and is current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Portland, Milwaukie, Oregon City or Tualatin. Fostered in Hubbard, Oregon COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FOR CARLTON ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
April is not your grandma's Chihuahua... she almost as a temperament more like a very affectionate Jack Russell Terrier. April is a spunky, go-getter who loves to play with the big dogs and go out to adventure. She can be chill in the house, but she's fairly active and craves a life where she can go out and see the world, work on training and do fun things. She will do best with a dog savvy person. She loves to fall asleep on your lap or chest. * We are seeking a home with a fenced yard for April please. April can be a mouthy, excited dog upon first meeting new people. She is not aggressive. But she is mouthy which is fairly easily controlled if you are a savvy dog person. She responds well to a correction to stop mouthing. But this is initial behavior we see when she first meets someone - she will also give new people lots of kisses! * We got April after she was found as a stray in California, wandering the streets looking dirty, weary and thirsty. April turned out to be the most affectionate, personable little dog! In typical Chihuahua fashion, she bonds quickly with her person and wants to be with them and be snuggled up. - 11.88 pounds and approximately 2 years old - Likely a Chihuahua mix - Fostered with a number of other dogs of all sizes, ages and both sexes. She loves to play with other dogs and even keeps up with a Belgian Malinois puppy. April would do best paired with a dog larger than her. Her play style can sometimes overwhelm smaller dogs. - Fostered with a cat and does not bother the cat - Kids ages 10+ if there are kids in the home. April was bouncy, happy and persistently enthusiastic towards a toddler she met and that level of affection may be too much for very small kids. - Walks on leash and is happy to take a stroll. Has the energy to keep up being a nice little adventure buddy too. April does pull on leash and is working on simmering down her excitement to go "full steam ahead." - Doing well with her potty habits but does have a potty accident from time to time. She does well with routine and supervision. She goes potty quickly when you let her out to do her business. - Crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night or in bed with her foster mom. - Does well on car rides. Loads up into the vehicle herself and settles down for the ride. She does not get car sickness. April is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, heartworm tested negative, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevenatives. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin. $250 adoption fee Fostered in Oregon City, Oregon COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FOR APRIL ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Rocky is available through Project POOCH. If you are interested in adoption, learn more and submit an application at pooch.org/adoptable-dogs This dapper young man is quite the gentleman and loves to be greeted each morning. He asks that you come to him and crouch down so that he might say hi. He loves playing, he will bring you his stuffies to tug with, or even throw for a round of fetch. But most of all, he loves you! Rocky is the kind of dog who just wants be involved. He would love to be your little shadow and a part of your life. Whether that is playing tug, romping in the hard, or binge watching The Office for the umpteenth time, Rocky is down to be your buddy. Rocky came to Project POOCH with his littermate, Bullwinkle. While they were originally considered to be a bonded pair, we have seen both dogs shine with some solo time and they've really enjoyed not being lumped in with the other. While they might do good in a home with space for them each to be their own, they have been flying solo at POOCH and blossoming into their own dogs. Interested in meeting Rocky? Story
Asphalt is available through Project POOCH. If you are interested in adoption, learn more and submit an application at pooch.org/asphalt Asphalt is an adventurous little guy! Don’t be the one to try to tell him that little dogs don’t do “big dog” things. He is always eager to join the guys on the walks, is a blast to train, and believes in balancing his work with equal enthusiasm for play. At only 6 lbs, Asphalt rewrites expectations of small dogs solely being purse dogs. He joins in on the walks and is a good partner to strut with. The youth are perfecting his leash manners and he continues to learn more each day. He is, however, still very much ok with being catered to when the time is right. (He even trained some of the youth to wear the sling during chore time so he could stick right by them.) If you’re looking for a pint sized dog to show up big dogs in the trick department, Asphalt could be a great fit for you. He is incredibly treat motivated and learns quickly. He’s been working on adding to his trick list while at POOCH and would love to show them off to you! Interested? https://www.pooch.org/adoption-application
