Story
April is not your grandma's Chihuahua... she's a spunky, go-getter who loves to play with the big dogs and go out to adventure. She can be chill in the house, but she's fairly active and craves a life where she can go out and see the world, work on training and do fun things. She will do best with a dog savvy person. She loves to fall asleep on your lap or chest. * We are seeking a home with a fenced yard for April please * We got April after she was found as a stray in California, wandering the streets looking dirty, weary and thirsty. April turned out to be the most affectionate, personable little dog! In typical Chihuahua fashion, she bonds quickly with her person and wants to be with them and be snuggled up. - 11 pounds and approximately 2 years old - Likely a Chihuahua mix - Fostered with a number of other dogs of all sizes, ages and both sexes. She loves to play with other dogs and even keeps up with a Belgian Malinois puppy. - Fostered with a cat and does not bother the cat - Kids ages 10+ if there are kids in the home. April was bouncy, happy and persistently enthusiastic towards a toddler she met and that level of affection may be too much for very small kids. - Walks on leash and is happy to take a stroll. Has the energy to keep up being a nice little adventure buddy too. April does pull on leash and is working on simmering down her excitement to go "full steam ahead." - Doing well with her potty habits - Crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night. April is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, heartworm tested negative, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevenatives. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin. $300 adoption fee Fostered in Vancouver, Washington COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FOR APRIL ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Asphalt is available through Project POOCH. If you are interested in adoption, learn more and submit an application at pooch.org/asphalt Asphalt is an adventurous little guy! Don’t be the one to try to tell him that little dogs don’t do “big dog” things. He is always eager to join the guys on the walks, is a blast to train, and believes in balancing his work with equal enthusiasm for play. At only 6 lbs, Asphalt rewrites expectations of small dogs solely being purse dogs. He joins in on the walks and is a good partner to strut with. The youth are perfecting his leash manners and he continues to learn more each day. He is, however, still very much ok with being catered to when the time is right. (He even trained some of the youth to wear the sling during chore time so he could stick right by them.) If you’re looking for a pint sized dog to show up big dogs in the trick department, Asphalt could be a great fit for you. He is incredibly treat motivated and learns quickly. He’s been working on adding to his trick list while at POOCH and would love to show them off to you! Interested? https://www.pooch.org/adoption-application

Story
Bullwinkle is available through Project POOCH. If you are interested in adoption, learn more and submit an application at pooch.org/bullwinkle Bullwinkle is a lowrider with a bit of a gym bod! This little tank of a dog is enthusiastic about snacks, play, and snuggles! For his snacks, Bullwinkle has all sorts of tricks to show you! His favorite is his meerkat impression, which is usually the first trick he goes to when he thinks there are snacks to be had (It's a good one too, because it usually results in him getting said snacks.) When playing, Bullwinkle gets really into character. He is vocal when playing tug, but it's all a game, he doesn't mean to sound so scary. It's just that he's a method actor and really needs to feel the part. However, cuddles might just be his favorite. He's a clear choice for the youth when they want some down time with a dog, because he is always down for a snuggle sesh. He is a great size to join you on the couch for movie night, small enough that he isn't crushing you, big enough to be a little lap heater. Bullwinkle came to Project POOCH with his literal brother Rocky. While they were originally considered to be a bonded pair, we have seen both dogs shine with some solo time and they've really enjoyed not being lumped in with the other. While they might do good in a home with space for them each to be their own, they have been flying solo at POOCH and blossoming into their own dogs. Interested in meeting Bullwinkle? Story
Bella is a very sweet and silly older lady that loves to kiss and snuggle. She doesn’t have many teeth left but is a happy gal. She can bark and growl at other pets but she is not aggressive and doesn’t do anything more than that. She is great with people and kids. She is potty trained and is excellent at going to the door when she needs to go out. She needs a new home as her current owner has dementia and will be going into a long term care facility. Please help us find her a loving home to enjoy the rest of her life. ♥️
