Story

Jenga was rescued out of California when her owner could not take care of her and a group of dogs they owned. We welcomed Jenga and one other dog from the group and are so glad we did - they are truly sweet, loving dogs hopeful for a fresh start on life. - Approximately 1 year old. Still very puppy-like, active, goofy, lots of exploring, everything is interesting and new to her. - 8 pounds and full grown - Possibly a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix - Good with other dogs and cats. Fostered with cats and does well. She mostly avoids the cats. - Kids ages 10+ if there are children in the home. - Can be a little shy at first but treats really help to garner her interest in new friends. - Super devoted to her people and bonds quickly. In typical small dog fashion, Jenga loves to be right with her person, a little shadow. - Doing moderately well with her potty habits. She has been in rescue with us one week and is adjusting to the inclement weather. She will need continued routine and supervision to keep her potty training progress moving forward. - Loves to be held and snuggle with her person - Sleeps in bed with her foster mom - Working on crate training - Learning to walk on leash. We don't think Jenga was ever taken for walks by her previous owner. - Not barky so far. Fairly quiet dog. - Good for car rides. Learning that they mean going fun places. No car sickness noted. Jenga is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, heartworm tested negative, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Story

Spidey was left in a homeless shelter in California and abandoned by his owner. Sadly, this poor little guy endured some trauma and was so scared when our rescue partner went to pick him up from the homeless shelter about a month ago. But Spidey is a resilient little pup and has been doing excellent in foster. We have watched his fear lessen and his playful and affectionate side come out! - Approximately 6 months old (he just lost a puppy tooth) - 9.75 pounds. We believe Spidey will likely be around 11-12 pounds full grown. - Possibly a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix. Spidey is a handsome chocolate brown color with white markings. He is a taller, leggy little guy. - Good with other dogs and loves to play. He especially likes the smaller female dog in his foster home and they play and cuddle together. - Good with cats and fostered with two kitties. - Previously fostered with kids ages 3 years and 13 years old. Spidey really loved the 13 year old boy in the home and he was appropriate with the 3 year old child who has learned to be gentle with dogs. - Cuddle bug! Spidey with nestle right under the covers and take a nap with you. He's a great couch buddy for TV time. - Doing good on leash walks. He can be a little hesitant but he follows along with his foster mom and the other dogs. He also enjoys being carried in a cozy cross-body dog bag on his foster mom's chest. - Doing good with potty habits. He may have a couple accidents initially on the first day or two but once he's settled in, his potty habits become reliable. Spidey is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Prism is a gorgeous Merle color with black and her photos don't quite do her justice! She's absolutely stunning! Prism was rescued out of California from an owner with a large group of small dogs that could no longer care for them. We scooped up Prism and her sister to help find them new homes that could care for them. - Approximately 1 year old - 8 pounds - Chihuahua mix - Good with other dogs and would love another dog in her future home to pal around with. She is currently fostered with a very gentle Husky. - Shy pup who is an absolute LOVE once she gets to know you after a day or so. Very sweet, gentle, sensitive girl who will benefit from continued confidence building and a patient approach. - Calm home preferred. Kids ages 10+ if there are children in the home. - Loves to snuggle under blankets and curl up and cuddle with her person. She likes being held and carried too. - Doing well walking on leash and getting lots of practice going out on neighborhood walks and into stores. - Rides well in the car. No car sickness noted. - Sleeps in her crate overnight with no potty accidents. She would love to cuddle in bed with you if that si allowed. - Potty habits need consistent structure and supervision. Prism is fostered in an apartment and is learning the routine of going potty on leash outside. This will take a little more time to dial fully in. We really think it's mostly her just needing to feel safe to venture outside and build confidence. If she had another dog friend in the home that would really help model the routine. Prism is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Discerning, opinionated, sassy, a tiny tyrant. This little walking Napoleon-complex would like you to know that he is his own being, and doesn't want to be treated as an accessory. We love this little guy at POOCH! He is clear in his communication of his needs, even if we aren't listening right away. He has SO MUCH personality in a little body. He plays, he snuggles, he adventures! Asphalt is excellent at letting you know what type of play he is looking for. He enjoys a good game of fetch but is also content to play on his own. He can be a vocal tug of war champion, and he asked to play by placing the toy directly in your hand for you to tug with. Not one to shy away from an adventure, Asphalt leads the youth on walks and struts his stuff on campus. He would likely be an excellent adventure partner, where ever the trail led you (the wilds of down the block, the unexplored local park, or even the urban pet friendly store)! Once his wandering is finished, Asphalt likes a good snuggle. He will even join our staff to finish much needed computer work. Even if it is on his own bed on the desk top.
