Story
Bocce is a terrific little dog in the making. He came to us as the last of a group of small dogs dumped in an orchard in California last November 2025. Since then he had been living in an outside kennel. Bocce has been fostered with our Director since January 31st and is truly embracing the comforts of indoor living! - 18 pounds and approximately 2 years old - Regal, distinguished Chihuahua mix who prefers a calm home. - Adores women! Bocce would like a female adopter as the main character. He follows his foster mom everywhere she goes with his loyal little spirit. He readily takes treats from his foster dad and is neutral to him. No barking or aggression. He just doesn't show the same level of enthusiasm for men that he does for women. Bonds quickly with women. - Neutral with other dogs. Bocce is fostered with three large dogs and does well with them. He hasn't been playful with them yet but it's been less than a week so we think he will get there. He does follow their lead though. We think Bocce could do well as an only dog or in a home with other dogs that aren't big and rambunctious. He prefers dogs that aren't in his face and pushy with him. - Good with cats. He is fostered with two kitties and is polite around them. - No kids please. Bocce startles and will also bolt if he is scared. We would worry a child might open a door or gate and set Bocce free. He needs safe containment and management around open doors. - Potty habits are going well. No pee accidents in the home. He has had a few poop accidents because he goes potty almost immediately after eating his meals so he needs to be let out promptly after he's finished eating. He holds his potty all though the night with no accidents. He also holds his potty in the crate with no accidents in the crate. He reliably goes potty when you take him out. - Does well in the crate and has been crated for up to 5 hours at a time - Enjoys sleeping out on a dog bed in his foster mom's bedroom at night. Good sleeper and doesn't disrupt the human's sleep. - Likes to be pet but hasn't quite figured out how to solicit pets from the humans. So when you pet him he kinda freezes but then relaxes and closes his eyes from bliss as you pet his head and body. He does enjoy petting and can be picked up. QUIRKS: - Bocce can scale chain link fences. However, he only tries to escape the first week as he's settling into a new home. After a few days in his new home, he settles in pretty readily and no longer looks to escape. He will just need to be on a long line leash for at least the first few days in his new home to help keep him safe and secure. - Shy. Bocce bonds strongly with his person and is reserved with new people. So he may not seem enthusiastic to meet you at a visit but we promise he WILL bond with you usually within the first 48 hours if you give him some grace and patience to get his bearings in a new home. - Bocce is super food motivated which means he may try to swipe food from the table or kitchen counter. He has tried it 3 times in the first week in foster. Correcting him when caught in the act has helped and he's realizing that putting paws on a dinner table or kitchen counter is not appropriate. It is not a persistent act. It's more like he may try it once or twice and then gets the message that it's not ok. Bocce is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, dewormed and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin. $250 adoption fee Fostered in Oregon City, Oregon APPLY TO ADOPT BOCCE ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Buffy is perhaps the cutest, super buff little lady ever! She was a bodybuilder in her past life for sure. She loves other dogs and is currently fostering with multiple pups and humans, too. Buffy was VERY shy of humans and would hide away, but now she likes to hang around and even sleep in a human bed. She is ready to start receiving affection soon but has been hands off for the most part. Buffy needs a patient person to bring her out of her shell the rest of the way. She is spayed and vaccinated. If you are interested in Buffy and would like to give her a try, please contact colleen@startrescue.org Her adopter will need immediate access to a secure yard straight from their back door, AND another dog to help show Buffy the way! Buffy is 2 years old and we adore here and you will too. Contact Colleen@startrescue.org to meet her in Portland, OR.

Story
Pepe is a 12yr old and needs a home where he can be the center of attention. Preferably with a female and no other animals. He has been a family pet, but primarily our daughter's dog. She has taken very good care of him but has moved out of state and is unable to bring him with her. Pepe was a rescue dog at 6 mo., while he had a hard start in life he has been spoiled with lots of love. He shared our home with a couple of other pups who have since gone over the rainbow bridge. We now have a 1 1/2 year old pup and if you can imaging pup energy with a senior dog some days are a challenge. Pepe does enjoy short walks, and 1 to 1 attention and would thrive with someone who would focus only on him.

Story
Fancy is a 2-year-old Chihuahua–Terrier mix with a heart as big as her adorable underbite. She’s a super sweet, cuddly girl who absolutely loves being held and snuggling up in your lap. If you’re looking for a true couch companion, Fancy is your girl. She’s currently thriving in a foster home with high-energy kids and does wonderfully with them—she loves children, enjoys sleeping with them, and happily joins them at bedtime. Fancy has also lived in a home with large dogs and gets along great, and she would do well with other small dogs too. That said, Fancy would be just as happy being your one-and-only, especially with a single person or older adult looking for a loving, loyal companion. Her scruffy fur and cutest little underbite only add to her charm. Fancy is affectionate, adaptable, and ready to bring lots of love to her forever home. 🐾💖 Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6939c8f9ee48add5a607c037 Questions? Email Kathleen@threelittlepittiesrescue.org We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye.
