Story
Meet Tina!Looking for a petite pup with a huge personality? Say hello to Tina, an 11 lb., 4-year-old fully grown pup who proves that the best things really do come in small packages! After being found as a stray, Tina has settled into her local foster home and is working hard on all her essentials: house-training, crate time, and leash walking. She’s a quick learner and puts her whole heart into everything she does, especially when it comes to eating treats and playing with toys! She can be a bit nervous in new situations and needs a day or two to warm up, but once she trusts you, she’s loyal, loving, and full of spunky charm. She tends to prefer women and would do best in a quieter home without a lot of visitors. While she could live with respectful kids and possibly other small dogs, experience with resource guarding is preferred as she can be protective of her favorite things.Tina hasn’t met any cats yet. She’s open to new adventures with the right family who will give her time, patience, and the space to feel safe and secure. Her foster says, `There is nothing tiny about Tina but her size! She plays with my 4 big dogs and gets right in the middle of the group. She eats well. Loves to snuggle while watching tv and wants to sleep with you but under the covers. She has enough energy to play with other dogs and you but also loves to be a couch potato. If she has a treat, she lets the other dogs know it is her private property. It’s actually kind of funny because she weighs around 10 pounds while the other dogs weigh from 40 to 60 pounds. Tina will stay in a crate when needed but has been left to roam the house with no problems. Tina has been gentle with my 85 year old mom and has not tried to get under her feet. I hate to see Tina leave, actually. She would be a great addition to any family.`She is available for adoption in Hopkinton or Jamaica Plain, MA by appointment. Story
Meet Chico! Chico is approximately 4 years old, 9 lbs currently and he likely has some Chihuahua in his mix! In his foster home, he is doing great with his house-training, and crate training and leash walking. He could go to a home with kids and other dogs. He has not been exposed to cats. His foster says, `Chico is a fine southern gentleman, looking to spend his days on someone`s lap. Even though he loves all people and dogs, I believe he would do better in a home that will allow him to be a lap dog. He has so much love and attention to show his new forever family. Hè`s a little dog with a big heart. He spends time in the crate (door always open) but only because his bed is in there. He does not seek it for any other reason. Any adopter will be lucky to have him as a family member. That bubbly, loving personality will be greatly missed by my husband and me.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on July 18th. Story
Meet Suki! Suki is approximately 1 year old, 10 lbs currently and she likely has some Chihuahua in her mix! In her foster home, she is working hard on her house-training, crate training, and does not have experience leash walking. She could go to a home with kids 10+, cats, and other calm dogs. Her foster says, `Little Suki has been through a lot in her short life, but it’s all about to get better. She is slowly coming out of her shell and realizing how awesome it is to get love and snuggles. We have not introduced her to too many other dogs yet because she just had her spay surgery. She was social and playful with her siblings before this, so she should integrate into a new pack nicely with a slow introduction. I’m sure she will shine with a little patience and understanding.`She is available for adoption in Hopkinton or Marlborough by appointment. Meet Peaches! Peaches is approximately 1 year old, 7 lbs currently and she likely has some Chihuahua in her mix! In her foster home, she is working hard on her house-training, crate training, and leash walking. She could go to a home with teenagers, cats, and other dogs. She is full of energy and already sits and twists. She loves to play and go on walks, but does become very anxious around young children. She can become vocal when crated and would do better in a home with older children or no kids.`She is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on July 18th. Story
Meet Papi! Looking for a pup who’s equal parts playful and affectionate? Say hello to Papi! This 1.5–2-year-old, 20 lb. mystery mix (maybe a little Chihuahua, maybe a little Cattle Dog, maybe a little of everything!) is ready to find his forever home after being found as a stray down in Alabama. Now in Massachusetts, Papi is working hard on house training, crate training, and leash walking – and he’s picking it up quickly! He’s a toy connoisseur who loves digging through the toy box and entertaining himself, though he’d much rather be doing it near his favorite person. He’s still learning to keep all four paws on the floor (hello, jumping bean!), but with some gentle guidance, he’s well on his way.Papi could do well in a home with dog-savvy kids 5+, dog-savvy cats, and/or young playful dogs. He’s a total lovebug who craves companionship, especially when it comes to couch snuggles and shadowing his people around the house. No apartments please (due to barking). If you’re looking for a small, sweet pup with a big personality and even bigger heart, Papi is ready to make your house a home. His foster says, `Papi is very loving and affectionate! He loves to run and play outside and inside. He wants to please and loves to be the center of attention! He is crate trained but does not like the crate. He will bark and carry on but eventually settles down. He is almost potty trained and has very few accidents. He walks well on a leash! He loves getting the toys out from the toy box and playing with them. He is still learning to keep 4 paws on the floor. He is a jumper but learning. He loves to be wherever you are and loves to snuggle on the couch. He is a very sweet boy and will make a great addition to a family!`He is available for adoption by appointment in Hopkinton, MA.
