Story
Ribblet is a 3-year-old Chihuahua with a front-row seat to life—and she intends to use it. Whether she’s strolling around the neighborhood on a walk or perched comfortably in your lap, she’s always keeping an eye on the world and making sure she doesn’t miss a thing. Ribblet has a sweet, observant nature and a talent for turning quiet moments into cozy ones. She’d be perfectly happy spending her day as your tiny sidekick, supervising household activities and checking out the window so that she can share all the latest gossip.   ##2754841##

Story
Bandit is a loving boy! He loves attention and snuggles. He is very loyal and loves his belly rubs. He spends his time sunbathing in the spring/ summer and for winter is still curious about snow. He does have some anxiety since I had originally adopted him from the shelter. He was a little more on the aggressive side when I first got him but has since opened up. He loves moms and dads snuggle sessions but he does have a hard time adapting to changes. I had originally adopted Bandit to be a companion for my 8 year old cocker spaniel. Bruno has since passed and bandit was having a hard time with change. He does well with kids (8 years and older), he doesn’t like to play as much due to age and being considered a senior.

Story
Time on the streets took a heavy toll on Holler. And though Holler has begun to heal physically, it's his heart that needs the most doctoring now. He's a timid guy, prone to hiding behind people he's uncertain about as he shivers and hunches. But we can see it in his eyes, Holler wants to want affection. He's not reactive in the form of snarling or snapping, he's simply afraid and needs slow, consistent reassurance, and a comfortable lap on which to lounge. Holler would do best with a family willing to offer him patience and the space to learn to love again, who won't take it personally that he has a history he's still working to put behind him. If you think that could be you, we encourage you to come and meet him for yourself!

Story
Introducing.... Miss Margaret! This is the sweetest little chihuahua you will ever encounter - except at the vet:) She really doesn't like strangers manhandling her:) Margaret was rescued from a shelter and she needed major medical care. She had major infections from her four remaining (very) rotten teeth. These teeth have been removed and she is feeling so much better! Her jaw was broken quite some time ago and she has just lived with it. Unfortunately, there isn't anything to be done for her now. She has adapted to life with a broken jaw. Being toothless, she has to eat canned food only. Missing teeth does not slow her down one bit! She gets ULTRA excited about her breakfast and dinner and will even stand on her hind legs and jump around for food and treats! The rest of the time, she is pretty much a snuggle bunny/ couch potato. She is crate trained and house-broken when taken out regularly. If not taken out regularly, she is not. Her foster mom works 10-11 hour days, so she does pee in her crate during this time. She never poos in her crate. Hey, tiny dog, tiny bladder! When she is out and about in her foster home, she gets along great with the two dogs and many cats that she lives with - no conflicts:) She will use potty pads when she needs to. The vet estimates her to be 14-15 yrs old, however, she doesn't act this old! She is a spunky little girl in the home and especially in the yard. Why doesn't the foster mom keep her you might ask? Unfortunately, she does not understand that she has very delicate little legs and while she uses the stairs up to the bed, she does not use the pet steps down. She jumps off the side of the bed. This is not safe for her little, arthritic legs. She needs a home for her golden years without steps up to a human bed. She needs someone who will love her and cherish her for the sweet angel that she is for the rest of her days. If you are interested in her, please send an email with a completed application to SCP . Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review and to set up a meet and greet! Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog prior to filling out an application, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some other great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!June 28, 2026, 1:25 am

Story
Hi, my name is Radar! I'm looking for my new forever homes. I'm still young, estimated DOB 2/26/26 and probably have some Chi in my ancestry. I'm learning so much at my foster home with other dogs and I love everyone. No kids at my foster home but I'd probably do OK with them if they can put up with my puppy antics. I love to be held and petted, give kisses, and play until I drop. I'm pee pad trained and working on housebreaking.    I'm just a puppy and can get into a lot of trouble so you'll need to be willing to give me lots of gentle guidance, so I can learn all those big dog things, like how to behave in a house, what a crate is for, how to walk on a leash without pulling, and all those verbal commands every dog should know. I may even treat people like I treat my sibling with rough play or decide that a new pair of shoes or a table leg would make a great chew toy, so a lot of appropriate toys should be in my future. The good news is that with the right training and LOTS of love, I'll be the best addition to your family ever and your best bud. If you are interested in me, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to SCP for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Petco in Clear Lake at 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center.   Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule.
