Story

Kakashi is a sweet boy, who loves to snuggle and sleep. You'll often find him waiting on you when you get home to say hi and ready to snuggle up for a nap at any given moment. Loves his treats and grapes. A good ol boy. We rescued him when he was 3 as a companion for my autistic son who recently has left us. Now we work way to much to give him and willow the love and attention they need to make it sustainable. I travel a lot for work. He needs a home that will love on him in his final years here better than I can.

She gets along beautifully with other dogs and is not a barker. She is affectionate, well-mannered, and crate-trained, making her an easy and loving companion. At first, Karla may seem a little independent, quietly taking in her surroundings and figuring out that she is finally safe. But as the day goes on, her sweet personality begins to shine. She seeks out companionship, enjoys being close to her people, and loves receiving affection. Once she trusts you, she wants nothing more than to feel loved and know that she belongs. Karla’s story is heartbreaking. She and three other dogs were rescued from the CAC (Canine Care Center) when they were down to their final hours. We were told that a man had brought them there to be euthanized. Their lives were in danger, and they had no way of knowing that someone would come for them. Thankfully, a rescuer stepped in and gave Karla and the other dogs the second chance they desperately needed. Instead of her story ending in a shelter, Karla now has the opportunity to begin a new chapter—a chapter filled with kindness, safety, love, and a family of her own. Karla has already survived the hardest part. Now she is waiting for someone to show her that her life was worth saving. She deserves a forever home where she will never again have to wonder if she is wanted. Although she can be shy and reserved at first, she is not aggressive. She simply needs a little patience and understanding to feel comfortable with new people. Once she begins to feel safe, she will approach on her own to ask for gentle pets, quietly showing you that she is ready to trust. Beneath her reserved nature is a sweet girl who deserves the opportunity to feel secure and loved. Zoe gets along well with other dogs, is not destructive, and is crate trained. After her previous owner, a person experiencing homelessness, passed away, Zoe and her little friend were left without anyone willing to take responsibility for them. Through no fault of their own, these two innocent dogs were facing the terrifying possibility of being surrendered to the Canine and Feline Care Center (CAC) for euthanasia. When the rescuer learned of their desperate situation, they stepped in to save them and give them a second chance at life. Molly is a sweet, snuggly 10lb couch potato who is in need of a calm, child free home. We don't really know her age, but we think she's around 9/10 years old.We recently had a baby and unfortunately she cannot settle into our new routines and rhythms and so she has been regressing in terms of her housebroken-ness. She is not aggressive AT ALL towards other animals or to children, but she is very anxious and does not like to be alone. She needs to be an only dog, as other dogs make her nervous. She is fine with cats, but won't attempt to interact with them.She would be ideal for someone who works from home and who enjoys short walks throughout the day. She prefers women, but will warm up to a man with a little extra time.She is leash trained, but she loves to be carried. She likes hiking and running around on the beach, but she's just as happy next to you on the couch.We are sad to rehome her, but after a year of trying to get her used to our child, we think she's be happier elsewhere.

Story

We adopted Hamilton about a year ago, and while he is very lovable, he requires a lot of time and attention that we do not have. He is about 2 years old. He is neutered and chipped. He still has a lot of energy and likes to play and be on top of you. He is not potty trained (we tried but he would still always end up peeing indoors). Someone experienced is probably best for him. We really hate to see him go, but I know he deserves more than what we can give him. We also have an older chihuahua (F) and the two of them did not get along. She is not as friendly as him, but I think he would do well with other dogs if they are friendly. He has never shown any aggression.

Story

Meet Maple! This pretty girl originally came to our rescue in 2020 when we rescued her from a Riverside Shelter. She is now 6 years old. It was immediately apparent that Maple did not come from ideal circumstances. She was extremely fearful of humans. When approached she would run, yelp, and scream to try to avoid being touched. She had stress patching and wouldn’t eat dog food out of a bowl, however, she knows exactly what people's food is. She was placed with a great foster that worked with her on trusting people. Slowly she began to gain confidence and progress into such a good girl. Once she had some progression and was easier to work with Maple was adopted. We were so happy that she had a home that could accommodate her. Through the years of regular pictures and videos, she seemed to be living her best life with her family. She was going on trails with horses, camping, swimming in her pool, and keeping all the kids and dogs quiet and in line at her house. She grew to be a very independent dog but seems to dislike loud noises, people arguing or anyone touching her without her permission. Unfortunately, due to extremely unforeseen circumstances, Maple ended up at the Riverside Shelter at the end of October 2023. We pulled her as soon as the shelter would allow us to but it was still over a week and Maple became stressed and scared again. Maple was taken in by a new foster home to help her decompress and gain trust again. Although the shelter was hard on her she was definitely showing that she had progressed greatly throughout the years. Her current foster has allowed her to become independent, trusting, and even playful and loving at times with her person. She is still not a fan of being touched without permission but will let you know when she wants pets. Being picked up is still hard but with a blanket and some patience, it can be done. She loves to sit right next to you once you have settled on the couch or in bed. She can co-exist with other dogs and probably cats. We recommend a home with children 12 or older. Due to past trauma, she does not like leashes, collars, and harnesses, and therefore doesn’t go on walks. She enjoys her space, her treats, her blankets, and her person. Once she finds her person she will love and protect them for the rest of her life. She is currently using potty pads inside but will go outside, is crate trained and enjoys the sunlight and following her person around.
