Thankfully we were there to catch them in our safety-net. These 2 were not even vaccinated, SCARED to death, and would have never survived the shelter! Scout is small, sweet, adorable, shy, dog friendly, potty trained. She is a scaredy-cat, but we are working with her to show her not everything is mean and scary. She is doing amazing! LOVE HEALS! This litter of cuties was rescued from central California. They were inbound for the local city shelter before our rescue stepped in to help. They were shy, covered in fleas, and in need of some much needed attention. After a few weeks in our care they have come out of their shells and their personalities are beginning to blossom. They are all very sweet, playful and energetic. They are ready to forget about their pasts and move on to a brighter future with a forever family. Story

Starski is a 2 year old male Chiweenie Mix. He is a little guy who loves to roll around on the grass. He is pretty low maintenance, and would thrive in any home as long as he is loved, and getting table scraps is always a bonus. Starski's favorite day time activity is sitting on your feet while you make lunch. Starski came with 9 other dogs named Cobra, Dumpling, Ganta, Milo, Molly, Saki, Soju, Tempura, and Ziti from an overcrowded shelter who asked us to help. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.When we met Jager, he was a hefty 25 pounds -- ridiculously overweight. It took awhile for him to slim down, but he's now a svelte 12 pounds. He's happier, much healthier, and way more active than he was originally. We got Jager when one of the vets with whom we work contacted us and said his owners had brought him to the vet clinic and asked that he be euthanized. They contended he was nippy and said they no longer wanted him.  Maybe the reason for that was that, in addition to being in pain from carrying double the weight he should have been, he had Cushing's disease, which causes the adrenal glands to produce too much of a certain hormone, usually cortisol. This can cause a dog to be hyperalert and uncomfortable, certainly something that could cause nippiness. Jager has been on medication for Cushing's for a while now, and he's a different dog. He loves to hang out with people and other dogs, and there's not a mean bone in his body. She is a small gal weighing 8 pounds. Sweet sweet sweet!! There is nothing bad we can say about Lily. She is the best little girl. She loves everyone, she thinks everyone is her new best friend. She is a snuggle bug, and loves attention. She enjoys going for walks and rides in the car. She would be a perfect RV companion. Lily may have had some not so great treatment in her past, so she can be scared when she does not know you and you pick her up. Once she knows and trusts you, she is completely fine with you picking her up. She just needs a little reassurance that you will not hurt her. She doesn’t like to be left alone for long hours, but when she is you will find her snuggling in her fluffy bed. Lily LOVES to sleep in bed next to you, snuggled up so closely, or she will reluctantly sleep on a nice cozy dog bed on the floor. If you have an empty lap looking for a sweet little dog to fill it, Lily is your girl. D’Artagnan (dar-tan-yun) or Artie is a very sweet guy. He seems to not have had the best care in his past. He had a full coat and hair loss, but with good food and fish oil, he looks amazing now. Artie is a busy guy. He always has something to do, usually playing with a ball or a squeaky toy. His favorite toy is a squeaky ball. He well throw it and roll it by himself for hours. He gets along great with other dogs. He is crate trained, uses the doggie door. He loves to sleep in the big bed, under the covers, like most dachshunds. Artie weighs 14 pounds. He would be best with older children.
