Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Hi, I’m Cadbury — a little chocolate drop of sweetness with a heart as rich as my name! 🍫My story started in Alabama, where life felt pretty uncertain for a while. Thankfully, an angel discovered me and found me the help I needed. Before I knew it, I was on my way to Minnesota, where I was welcomed into a warm foster home. Just a few days later, I delivered five beautiful, healthy puppies surrounded by love and care. It was the sweetest fresh start a girl could ask for!My puppies are growing up and heading off to their forever homes, and now I’m told it’s my turn to find a family of my very own. Here are the important details: I’m housetrained, not much of a barker (unless there’s a reason), and I can be trusted to relax at home without needing a kennel. I’m gentle, affectionate, and always happy to accept a treat or two.I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but that just means I take my friendships seriously. Once I know I’m safe, my loyal and loving personality really shines. I bond deeply with my people and promise to give back so much love.I may be a “shortie,” but I’m more athletic than I look and enjoy a good romp! Leashes aren’t my favorite invention yet, but I’m willing to cooperate when it means spending time with my people. I’m a great car rider — just give me a cozy spot and I’ll curl up for a nap. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Junior is a 2-year old Daschund that weighs about 11-12 lbs.    He originally is from Tijuana. Junior came to us very apprehensive but he has progressed so well, and easily wants love and attention, petting, and care.  Junior loves to go in and outside and loves to run around with another small dog. Junior loves to bark at squirrels! He is actually quite confident outside, strutting his small stuff, bossing the squirrels around. Junior is speedy, agile and athletic.  Junior loves sleeping in the bed at night with you! We are seeking a household that will let him sleep in the bed, it means a lot to him.  His foster home has a set of soft stairs that work great for him.  We are looking for a home for Junior, ideally with another small dog and a fenced in yard (if possible). We can assess a home without a fenced in yard, or another dog, but a home with another small dog and a fenced in yard would ring all the bells! Junior has been exposed to larger dogs and can co-mingle but will sometimes be intimidated by them and jump and snap at them if he feels threatened.  Junior is very precious. He loves to be near his caretaker and have fun with another small dog. He can be confident, and assertive and sometimes shy. Alfred, or “Alfie” for short, is a sweet chi mix whose little life didn’t get off to a great start and is still working on trusting his surroundings.  He loves to play with other dogs his own size and after a good romp will curl up in the same bed for naptime together.  While he is wary of new people, he is quickly learning that belly pets are kind of a great thing.  He has even learned that if he climbs the pet steps it leads to the foster’s comfy bed where he can snuggle right in! Due to his skittish temperament, it is recommended Alfie be placed in a home with children over the age of 10. Also, because of his deep connection with other dogs, Alfie NEEDS to be placed in a household with another canine friend. A few facts about Alfie: His favorite game is tug. Bring it on! He LOVES to snuggle….with other dogs and in cozy places.  We think with time and patience, he will actually be a real snuggle bug! Alfie comes to you housetrained.  No accidents!  He will bark when excited but is not overly vocal. While he isn’t afraid of a kennel, he is not considered kennel trained. Alfie has not been cat tested and his prey drive is unknown.
