WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Ernest - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Ernest Goes To Jail, yes, to my embarrassment and dismay, I was found as a stray and spent some time in the doggie slammer. It seemed like forever!! But thanks to this rescue I got out on good behavior and am ready for that freedom ride! Yes, Ernest Rides Again!!! I'm just hoping your home is my last ride!! I have been working on the whole house and crate training thing and have got it down. I may have spent most of my life outside but I've caught on quickly. I coming to see that this whole living inside with a soft bed and a warm lap to lay on is pretty darn nice!! I would do best in a quiet adult only home. I'm needing my space but will come seeking companionship when I want it. Kinda like a cat in that sense. I do well with other dogs but would prefer a more mellow sibling that isn't too bouncy and constantly in my space. At 9 years and only 11lbs I would make a great family addition for someone that is looking for a great lil guy to chill with them. I'm already out of that destructive stage but still enjoy neighborhood strolls and catching some rays in the backyard. If you're looking for that needy pup that is always under foot seeking you attention, I'm not your boy. But if you want an independent lil guy that is just happy being in the same room, I might just be that lil man!! I would love to be your lil side kick....so what do ya say? Can I come home with you?!!

Introducing Tucker the Explorer! This wonderful boy is a loveable, cute, full of expressions dog looking to become someone's forever companion! He's very well trained - knowing how to stay in a crate, go potty outside, and even go through the doggy door! Tucker is a very chill and low energy dog who enjoys everyone. Sometimes Tucker experiences some anxiety when people leave him to go to work or run errands but that's about the extent of it. Tucker would do well in a household where there are other dogs around to bring out his playful side. Potential adopters should know that Tucker is a velcro dog and will be stuck to your side at all times during the day and night. He loves a good nap with his family! Tucker is currently heartworm positive and being treated, he will be ready for full adoption at the end of April. Don't wait, he will give you a wonderful buddy for LIFE :) Look in his eyes and ADOPT HIM!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

And as I'm wiggling my way into your heart that pitter patter turns to a steady beat from my total and absolute love for you! My name is TaterTot and I'm around a year old. I'm looking for my very own home to be love and cherished. I'm a little munchkin at just 12lbs but that's ALL my12lbs of pure love, 12lbs of kisses and snuggles, 12lbs of tail wags (I'm that happy, it never stops moving!) and 12lbs of a heartbeat at your feet (or on your lap!!)! I do love people but will need a home where I'm your one and only. I may be small but I still love all the things the bigger pups get to do. My short coat makes me easy peasy in the grooming department. A bath and a towel dry and I'm ready for our next adventure! Let's make some beautiful memories...together, as we start our our journey of lots of love, companionship and adventures!! Hi I'm Sadie! I am a very loving and sweet chihuahua mix when it comes to people. I am not so sweet and loving to other little dogs if they take away my time sitting on your lap or getting your attention. Then, I will try to scare them away because they are moving in on my territory. You see, when I come into your house, you are mine!! And I don't like sharing you with anyone with 4 legs!! So if you want to devote the rest of your life to my happiness and security, I will devote the rest of my life to keeping your lap warm, cleaning up things that drop on the floor, and will alert you to things that we may both need to know about! Like someone at the door! I am waiting for you!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi I'm Buzz!  I'm a happy little guy looking for my perfect family.  I enjoy playing outside and running in the grass enjoying the sun and wind in my face.  If you're my person I get happy wiggles and enjoy scratches and pets.  With new people I can be a bit quirky.  If I don't know you I ask that you give me a moment to know you're safe.  I'll admit I'm better with women than men.  If I'm pushed too quick I sometimes mouth you.  It's not a bite and I leave no mark whatsoever but your hand or finger is in my mouth for just a moment. I do ok with slow intros with calm dogs that ignore me but I would love to be an only dog so I don't have to share your love.  I'd likely be best in a home without kids.  I'm sure you're kids are great but I don't think they're for me.  I love walks and I know how to potty on leash or in a fenced yard if you have it.  I'm kennel trained and doing well on potty training.  I just need a patient family who will love me and give me a chance and you'll see what a great dog I really am.  Are you my perfect match? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.       ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. HI! I'm Zinnia, I'm from a local shelter. From the foster: Zinnia is very smart and highly food motivated. She likes to sit on the deck. She likes her people to stay in the room where she can keep an eye on them. Zinnia does bark and her bark is rather loud for her size. She prefers women and seems like she'd do best in a home with very stable routines that will help ease her anxiety. Hello! Throughout my veterinary care at Secondhand Hounds, it was discovered I have heart issues. A cardiologist performed an echocardiogram and diagnosed me with aortic valve stenosis and patent ductus arteriosus. I had a Amplatz Canine Duct Occluder procedure completed at the University of Minnesota to help with my heart conditions. I will have a 3 month recheck at the U of M. At that appointment, it will be decided if I need an additional heart procedure. If I am adopted prior to this medical care, SHH will cover my 3 month recheck exam, second heart surgery (if deemed necessary) and my spay surgery at the SHH Vet Center (this will not occur until I am cleared).

Story
Hi! I'm Tiny Batman! I'm from Alabama. From his foster: Tiny Batman is a super sweet and energetic little guy. He's still pretty puppy-like but is such a kind boy. He takes a few minutes to warm up to strangers, but once he does, he gives hugs and kisses and snuggles! He loves to play with toys and run around the yard. He's good with other dogs and is very food motivated, so probably trainable. He's still working on his housetraining, but is making great progress! He is crate trained and sleeps in a crate at night for now while he's housetraining, but like most chihuahuas would prefer to sleep in bed! Tiny Batman has a small amount of separation anxiety and stranger danger, and so probably barks a little too much for a home with shared walls or where there will be lots of neighbors or strangers coming over.

Story
Hi! I'm Otis! I'm from Arkansas! From his foster: Otis is a sweet puppy. He likes playing with toys and his sibling. He often comes up to have a snuggle before taking off to find some puppy fun or he will settle in your lap or next to you and have a nap. He is very much a typical puppy with puppy energy. Potty training is going well on a schedule with frequent let outs. If we miss a cue to go outside he has been pretty good about using a puppy pad. Otis sleeps in his crate at night and is doing well. I work from home so he is not crated too much during the day but we do crate him when we are gone. Otis is a shy pup. He's not going to be the puppy who runs up and greets everyone he meets but we are trying to get him more socialized so he is more comfortable around people he doesn't know. I think he would be most happy with another dog in the home or a person who is home more often than not. He is currently pretty mouthy when playing like most puppies but we are working on that and trying to redirect to toys or chews. As a result I think young kids might not be the best for Otis. Otis is not super food motivated. We put his food down and he'll eat it when he's ready and it usually takes awhile for him to finish his serving. Otis likes to be outside and likes going for walks. He's doing really well walking on a leash. Otis has done really well in the car. We have taken him shopping at some dog friendly stores and he has done well. Otis will make a great addition to his forever family! Once you gain his trust is a sweet affectionate boy.

Well, hello! I’m Dori and am super optimistic that my forever family is here! My short life journey hasn’t been the easiest but it’s only up from here! My seven siblings and I are so happy to be safe and here in Minnesota so that we can find our forever homes. We all look different, but I think I’m easy to spot with dark features on my face. I’m super friendly and I’ll always show you I’m excited to see you with my wagging tail. Awesome news, I do a great job of hanging out in my crate when my foster dad is away from the house. He says this is a great skill to have! I’m also a big fan of toys, all kinds of them! If you’re looking for a perfect addition to your family, look no further. Come meet me!--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Hello everyone! My name is P. Sherman and I’m ready to start my new life here in Minnesota! I’ve been through a lot in my short life. My seven siblings and I weren’t in a safe situation when we lived in Alabama. Luckily, we were found by amazing friends, and they helped us get here. Now my day consists of playing with my toys and foster siblings and then napping in the sunshine. I have caught on quickly with bell training and let my family know when I have to go potty. I have been cuddling with my siblings at night and sleep really well. I love to play outside with the small humans and other pups. I can walk on a leash and learned from my foster sibling. I am a good boy looking for my forever family.--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB: 10/01/2015 Requires another dog in home: Yes, needs another confident dog Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes, dog friendly dogs Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Weight: 13 pounds Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, needs a fence  Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Jessie and I am the perfect combination of sweet and gentle. I am a timid and shy girl who is making tremendous progress living in a home with a loving family. I have learned so many things – the most important is to trust my people. My people have been very gentle and going slow with me and I have made a lot of progress. She gives me little massages on my head and back – it is so relaxing for me and my people. I have the softest coat and I think you will agree! I am a shy little girl, so having a confident dog in my forever home is required. Another dog will be helpful to show me the ropes, help me get on a routine and help me feel comfortable in my surroundings. Foster mom tells me with a little time and a lotta love, I will come out of my shell and be a great friend to my people. A lot of commotion worry me a bit, so I spend time in my comfy bed watching the activity in the house. Hopefully you have lots of comfy beds for me! Potty training is going great, my foster mom carries me outside and I am good about doing my business on a routine. While I will go potty on a leash, I don't know how to go for walks yet so will need a fence. Maybe there is another dog in the house to show me how to walk on a leash? Hopefully! Anyway, I am ready for my forever. My forever family, my forever home and my forever best friend that will love me unconditionally, not give up on me! I promise I’m worth it and I will fill that hole that you possibly never even knew was there! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    How exciting!  I’m so happy knowing I am ready to have my very own forever home and I’m hoping it’s soon.  I may be a bit cautious at first, but trust me, once I realize I'm in a safe and loving environment, my sweet and playful side shines through. I'm learning quickly that I'm surrounded by caring humans, and each day, I'm opening up a bit more. I’m learning so much and starting to come out of my shell. I like having fun with toys, ropes and bones.  I just love playing and also treats.  Every day there seems to be new things to discover and explore. I am showing my people that I am a very smart girl and recently learned the word "sit." I know we will learn so much more together! There are young kids here at my foster home and we have a good time together, too, because they understand my boundaries and are gentle towards me.  Younger kids who are loud and move quickly would not be a match for me.  I do well in my crate and am working on potty training but do well with a good schedule.  We have started practicing leash walking and I am a work in progress. If you promise to keep working with me on leash training, I don't need a fence in my forever home.  I do well with all other dogs (I do prefer the smaller ones) and would benefit from having a confident and social dog in my forever home to help me learn to trust and get on a routine.  Patience is the key as I continue to learn and build trust. I'm destined to become a wonderful companion, and with a little patience and love, I'll be the perfect addition to your family. If you're ready to embark on this journey of trust, love, and playfulness, let's meet soon! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.   Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I'm Suzi, your potential new best friend! Let me tell you a bit about myself. I may be a Pom mix weighing in at a petite 15 pounds, but my personality is larger than life. At home, I'm sweet, gentle, and playful—a true good girl through and through. I'm still learning to trust humans, so meeting new people can make me a bit shy. But once I warm up to you, I'm all about those cuddles and scratches. Oh, and chin and back scratches? Count me in! When I'm not snuggling up next to my foster mom, you'll find me napping in cozy dog beds or tearing up the backyard with some epic zoomies. I absolutely adore playing with other dogs, and I'm always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war. Plus, I'm a foodie at heart—I'll do just about anything for some tasty treats like garbanzo beans, carrots, or chicken. Potty training is coming along nicely, I’m working on doing my business outside or on a washable potty pad indoors. While I'm crate trained and ride like a champ in the car, I feel most comfortable in an x-pen or gated area when left alone. Oh, and did I mention I'm a fantastic mama? I raised six adorable puppies like a boss! But those days are over and I’m ready to be the center of attention. Although I'm still working on leash training, I'm getting better every day. I'll need a fenced yard and a patient owner who can help me build confidence and continue my training. When it comes to grooming, I'm a trooper. I did great at the groomer for my bath and nail trim, even if the dryer was a bit scary. And I'm totally cool with daily brushing sessions at home. Sure, I may bark at strangers or get a little spooked from time to time, but deep down, I'm just a sweet and loving girl looking for my forever home. And if you have other furry friends, no worries—I get along great with cats and dogs alike. I may have some hurdles to overcome, but watching me blossom and grow more confident is truly something special. So, if you're ready to open your heart and home to a girl like me, let's make it official! This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.
