She is quite possibly **one of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet**. Once Lilly trusts you, she loves deeply and wants nothing more than to be close to her person. But there is something important her future family needs to understand: **Lilly is scared. Really scared.** New people, unfamiliar places, sudden movement, noise, and changes in her surroundings can overwhelm her. Her first instinct is not aggression—it is to **run, hide, and make herself disappear until she feels safe**. That means Lilly does not need someone who expects her to become their best friend in five minutes. She needs someone patient enough to let **her decide when five minutes becomes five days—or five weeks.** And when she finally comes to you on her own? That trust will mean everything. Lilly would do best in a **quiet, predictable home** with adults or calm older children who understand that frightened dogs cannot be rushed. A securely fenced yard and careful handling around doors would be especially important because a frightened little dog can bolt before anyone realizes what happened. She doesn't need somebody to “fix” her.

Welcome, Reggie! This 6-year-old Terrier/Chihuahua mix came to us from another local rescue and is ready to bring plenty of fun to his forever home. At 28 pounds, he's the perfect size for adventures during the day and cuddles on the couch afterward. Reggie is playful, energetic, affectionate, and always happy to make a new human friend. He enjoys his walks, does well on a leash, and is ready to tag along wherever life takes you. Reggie is open to meeting other dogs and would likely do well with children, but he cannot live with cats.
