If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   ALL OF MY PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE BELOW! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Cole. My owner's asked CSAC to help find me a new home. A new grandchild is expected soon, and it was felt that I would not do well with an infant when they are babysitting. I am scared since it was the only home I have ever known. I am a healthy senior. I just have a little arthritis in my back legs. I am house trained and crate trained. I would love to be in a quiet home with no children or other pets. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Coco. My owners felt that they could no longer afford the medication that I need for allergies so they took me to a vet hospital to be euthanized. The vet hospital felt I was too healthy and had a lot of life to live so they gained legal custody of me to save my life. The vet hospital asked CSAC to help find me a new home. I am extremely loving to people, however I DO NOT like other dogs. I don't want to see them or be around them. I am the queen of my castle. My new family should know how to deal with allergies. My ears and skin show signs of chronic infections so I have been suffering with allergies for a long time. My new family should also understand my issues with other dogs and make me their princess. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. My foster mom says that I am 99% house trained. I am still shy around other dogs. My foster home has 2 other pups, but I keep to myself, although I have been trying to join them when they run around the yard. I am still trying to learn how to be a pet dog. I finally tried barking! I like treats, but I am still too shy to go to my foster mom for a treat, but she is kind and brings it to me. I have tried going to her for some petting the last few days. There is a lot to learn to be a happy pet, but I'm making good progress. MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Kelsey, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am shy because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Lemon. I was rescued from a puppy mill. The miller at the puppy mill did not know the basic rules of breeding pups. He put together two Merle dogs. The veterinarian who first examined me said that I have abnormally shaped pupils. The CSAC vet thinks I can see shadows, but they think I cannot hear. That is hard to test. Despite my limited vision and hearing, I am energetic and love to play. I am calmer and shier than my sister Poppy. The best home for me has people who have dog, puppy and special needs experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world.
