MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Piper, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am very scared because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. A Heartbeat at your Feet <3MEET GEORGIA! Little Georgia, as her foster pawrents call her, is just blooming in foster care after being found running in traffic as a stray. Estimated to be about 4 years old and weighing 17 lbs, this little beauty got a bath and a spiffy new hair cut after getting her booster shots earlier so she is a healthy, gorgeous and very happy little girl.  Here’s what her foster mom has to say about her… “This dog is a really, really good girl. She’s a great size. She loves to cuddle. She’s got a lot of spunk. She eats well. She loves treats. She sits, she shakes. She sits in the backseat of the car and doesn’t cry. She sleeps on the floor or in a bed although she would probably be happy if you invited her up, lol. She’s really friendly and gets along with other dogs. She’ll come up to you and rub all over your feet looking for a belly rub. She’s a beautiful brown color and very soft. She has the cutest little eyebrows.” Although Georgia is the happy little pack leader of 3 other adorable dogs in her foster home, she is ready to find her own castle. She is a petite little thing so kids must be over the age of 10 please. Georgia's adoption donation fee is $500, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. Lou Lou is a lovable 6-year-old mixed breed that weighs about 20 pounds and has a gentle, easygoing personality that`s impossible not to adore. She loves being close to her people, happily soaking up cuddles without ever being demanding, and she`s perfectly content lounging on the porch, taking leisurely walks, or enjoying a cozy nap between snack breaks. Chew toys, chicken jerky treats, squeaky toys, and car rides all earn Lou Lou`s enthusiastic approval! Though she has cataracts, she navigates the world remarkably well. He's a wonderful age, past the puppy craziness but still young enough to enjoy plenty of playtime, walks, toys, and adventures with his people.Doctor Knox also comes with his own built-in home security system. He likes to announce when someone new comes around, so there's no need to spend money on a monthly alarm subscription. Just keep his food bowl filled, his toy basket stocked, and remind him how handsome he is. He considers those perfectly reasonable household arrangements!Knox loves his toys, especially his chew toys, and enjoys his morning or evening walks. He is happy to entertain himself with a favorite toy and can often be found stretched out on his dog bed, contentedly passing the time.
