Seven is friendly around adults and kids, also good with other dogs; he would share his toy and food without getting into fight. He is house trained and crate trained to sleep overnight; a good rider in the car; no barking or chewing behaviors. Seven will make a great family companion pet and a good walking partner! Seven’s rescue story: At three months old, Steven was deserted at the park. For several months, he lived around the park, under the threat of other unfriendly stray dogs and the chasing of animal control crew. Until several months later, a volunteer took him for neuter operation and arranged a foster family for him. We were contacted soon afterwards and started the adoption program for this young life. If you would like to give BECCA a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application About Becca: Becca is a passionate and lively girl, enthusiastic with food and toys. She is attached to humans by nature; loves tummy rubs and giving kisses, even around strangers. She could be a little shy when approached by strangers, but would not take long for her to respond passionately. She is friendly to adults and children alike; shares food and toys with other dogs, and never engage in fight with other dogs; very well behaved, not a chewer or barker; also enjoys her daily walks and car-ride. Becca is obedient and enjoys being around people, will surely make a great companion pet. Becca’s rescue story: Becca was rescued out from a ditch by the volunteer on her daily walk. Becca’s seven siblings were also found nearby. Because that area is an industrial park, banked by a storm drain, with heavy trucks in and out all the time, hardly an environment where young puppies can survive! Therefore, the volunteer posted a plea for adoption on line for these vulnerable puppies. The rescuer responded and placed the puppies with foster families while start preparing them for their forever homes. Story
So very nice to meet you all! My name is Zada and I'm a 3 year old, 61lbs., Collie Shepherd mix that is one outgoing and happy girl. I'm a curious girl that enjoys playing in the yard and meeting new human friends. I'm a pretty social lady that will walk right up to you to say hi and maybe sit for a few good scratches. I'm energetic and playful as well; I'm pretty good at 'fetch' if I do say so myself! I also have a very polite 'sit' especially if you have a tasty treat. I would love to go home with a family that has had large energetic dogs like me before and if I sound like the girl for you, please bring in the whole family including any resident dogs so we can all meet before going home together!  Zada ID# A977262Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Story
Nyssa is a 3-4 year-old spayed female Border Collie, around 40 lbs, who was rescued from a local CA shelter. Sadly, before finding herself abandoned and alone at the shelter, she likely grew up in the backyard confined to a kennel. Nyssa is now learning to live as a domestic pet. Amazingly and despite this, she remains a lively, energetic, and otherwise healthy dog who is remarkably intelligent, craves human interaction, and is very loyal to her hooman. Nyssa is intelligent, already understanding various commands such as "sit," "leave it" “sit pretty” and "inside” to go into the house.  She is also deeply loyal to her guardian and has a strong capacity for forming deep bonds typical of her breed. She is truly a remarkable dog who has the capacity to grow into an even more amazing companion through continued obedience training and by establishing a trusting relationship with her guardian. Nyssa is incredibly affectionate and loves people. She can be around other dogs without being on leash reactive. However, off leash and once confident, she has a habit of herding dogs, considering the trait of her breed. Nyssa loves to play ball and might be a Treibball enthusiast!  She walks well on a loose leash, crate trained and housebroken and sleeps through the night on her dog bed. Tested well with cats, but like with dogs, once confident, it is possible she may try to herd them, so possible she may need supervision/management.  Ther Ideal Family for Nyssa is: &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Someone who understands her breed Border Collies, her adjustment to living in a home, and provides her sufficient mental and physical stimulation. &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Someone who values bonding with their dog and is ready to build a deep connection. &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Someone who can provide yard space for Nyssa to move and exercise freely. Nyssa still loves people and finds her greatest happiness in being with her Hooman. With so much intelligence and energy Nyssa has limitless potential to become your perfect lifelong companion. Her right family, is one that understands her and is ready to provide her with love, care and proper training – then she is your girl! Story
Clover is a 1yo female spayed 30lb cattle dog mix. She is crate trained, learning how to walk on a leash, and is doing well with housebreaking. She does great with other dogs and she really would benefit from living with another more confident dog to follow. She is non-destructive in the house but can be a creative collector of items she stashes lol. She might be fine with an indoor only cat. Please no young children or apartments. She’s a very sweet girl, skittish until she trusts you, but is sweet and not aggressive. She is young and still has a lot to learn what life can offer! Story
Snickers URGENTLY NEEDS A FOSTER HOME IMMEDIATELY! Call/text Diana at (510) 333-4420 to inquire if you can help!  Snickers is a 4yo 45lb neutered male Kelpie/McNab cattledog. He’s passive, and sweet and loving with people, is ok around cats, and good with other dogs, but would do best living as an only dog or female dogs (he’s a bit pushy with males). He’s cratetrained and wants to please his person. He needs an active home.   He walks nicely on a leash and picks up new commands quickly—he knows how to sit and lie down. He looks forward to his nightly walks with great excitement and starts each day with renewed excitement.  Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc November 18, 2025, 12:59 pm
