He is very friendly and enjoys being around people. He is submissive by nature, loves belly rubs; and very food motivated, so is easy to train. Seven is friendly around adults and kids, also good with other dogs; he would share his toy and food without getting into fight. He is house trained and crate trained to sleep overnight; a good rider in the car; no barking or chewing behaviors. Seven will make a great family companion pet and a good walking partner! Seven’s rescue story: At three months old, Steven was deserted at the park. For several months, he lived around the park, under the threat of other unfriendly stray dogs and the chasing of animal control crew. Until several months later, a volunteer took him for neuter operation and arranged a foster family for him. We were contacted soon afterwards and started the adoption program for this young life. Story
Becca, spayed female, 3 Years old, 35 Lbs. If you would like to give BECCA a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application About Becca: Becca is a passionate and lively girl, enthusiastic with food and toys. She is attached to humans by nature; loves tummy rubs and giving kisses, even around strangers. She could be a little shy when approached by strangers, but would not take long for her to respond passionately. She is friendly to adults and children alike; shares food and toys with other dogs, and never engage in fight with other dogs; very well behaved, not a chewer or barker; also enjoys her daily walks and car-ride. Becca is obedient and enjoys being around people, will surely make a great companion pet. Becca’s rescue story: Becca was rescued out from a ditch by the volunteer on her daily walk. Becca’s seven siblings were also found nearby. Because that area is an industrial park, banked by a storm drain, with heavy trucks in and out all the time, hardly an environment where young puppies can survive! Therefore, the volunteer posted a plea for adoption on line for these vulnerable puppies. The rescuer responded and placed the puppies with foster families while start preparing them for their forever homes. Master is enthusiastic and loaded with puppy energy. He loves to run and play with balls and stuffies but also loves a good cuddle and a treat. He politely and gently accepts tasty treats and will sit or hold a down stay (as long as you are quick about it). We think Master will be at his best in an active environment with lots of outings and room to play.

Story
Caesar: A Loyal Heart Seeking a Patient, Understanding Home. Hello! My name is Caesar, and I'm a handsome Shepherd (and maybe Husky!) mix, estimated to be 1.5 years old and weighing 55 lbs. I was neutered in March. I was found in Fresno, California, and didn't have much exposure to the world before coming into rescue. Because of this, I can be quite fearful and reactive towards new people and other dogs. I need a truly understanding and patient adopter who is committed to helping me feel secure and confident. While I haven't had much early socialization or training, I'm a quick learner and brave. I'm surprisingly house-trained and do very well inside the home once I understand the routine. I've already made excellent progress in my foster home, showing that with consistency and the right environment, I can continue to blossom. I'm a truly wonderful companion. I'm a fast learner and quickly accept and respect new things or people once I'm familiar with them. I've learned to sit politely for what I want and will even show you to my leash when it's walk time! I love walks and would make a great hiking buddy. My foster mom says I'm pretty strong – it must be the Husky in me! I wear a prong collar for walks, but I'm learning good leash manners. I also have a strong prey drive and am diligent about pursuing squirrels in the yard – this bodes well for your garden this summer! Initially, I was pretty reactive to vehicles passing by, particularly loud trucks or fast- moving cars. I have spent lots of time desensitizing and am much less concerned with cars on the road. Turns out, I happen to love riding in the car! I will very willingly “load up” and then enjoy the views and fresh air with my head out the window. The Shepherd in me loves to please, and I pick up new tricks quickly. I already know SIT, DOWN, and SHAKE, and we're working on STAY. I'm still a bit of a puppy at heart, playful with my toys (stuffed animals, ropes and things I can swing around are my favorite) and I’m always up for a good roll in the grass. I will patrol the yard, but generally refrain from barking at passersby. Even with yard access, I prefer being with my people if they are indoors. I like to lounge on the bed while you get ready for the day. And once I get to know you, I’ll snuggle with you on the couch. What I Need in a Home Due to my fear-based aggression, I need a home without small children. I could enjoy sleeping in on the weekends with a teenager who enjoys canine companionship. I’ve never been around a cat but would likely be inclined to chase them. I need a home with a secure yard and will always need to be on leash and harness when outside of the home.
