She is attached to humans by nature; loves tummy rubs and giving kisses, even around strangers. She could be a little shy when approached by strangers, but would not take long for her to respond passionately. She is friendly to adults and children alike; shares food and toys with other dogs, and never engage in fight with other dogs; very well behaved, not a chewer or barker; also enjoys her daily walks and car-ride. Becca is obedient and enjoys being around people, will surely make a great companion pet. Becca’s rescue story: Becca was rescued out from a ditch by the volunteer on her daily walk. Becca’s seven siblings were also found nearby. Because that area is an industrial park, banked by a storm drain, with heavy trucks in and out all the time, hardly an environment where young puppies can survive! Therefore, the volunteer posted a plea for adoption on line for these vulnerable puppies. The rescuer responded and placed the puppies with foster families while start preparing them for their forever homes. Meet Zumi Zumi is a handsome shepherd / medium mix boy with the sweetest heart and the happiest spirit. This fun-loving guy is pure happiness — he truly loves everyone he meets! Kids, cats, dogs, and all people alike are instant friends in Zumi’s world. If you’re looking for a social butterfly with a wagging tail, he’s your guy. Zumi walks beautifully on a leash and already knows several commands, including sit, give paw, and lay down. He’s incredibly eager to learn and so motivated to please — training with him is not only easy, it’s fun! He’s the kind of smart, attentive pup who looks at you like you’re his whole world. Playtime is one of Zumi’s favorite times of day. He absolutely adores his squeaky toys, loves to run and play, and if there’s water involved, even better! Splashing around brings out his goofy side. She’s affection motivated, enjoys guidance, and is good with corrections, making her a rewarding companion for someone who enjoys building trust and connection. Cookie is also housetrained, which helps make her transition into a home nice and smooth. At times, Cookie can feel a little insecure and may resource guard her person from other dogs, so she will do best with an adopter who understands this behavior and can provide clear boundaries and reassurance. She prefers slow, thoughtful dog introductions and will benefit from continued training and confidence-building. Cookie has medium energy and has good leash manners. However she does show some prey drive and may pull when she’s spots a squirrel. She is not good with cats, so a cat-free home is needed. June was brought to our shelter on 3/4/26 after being found in unincorporated San Leandro. She hasn't been reclaimed by her previous person, so she’s now looking for a new home! Her adoption fee is $35, plus licensing (if applicable), plus the cost of her spay surgery. June’s Shelter ID# is 89032. She is an approximately 2-year-old, tricolor/brindle, Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. She currently weighs around 55 lbs. She is already vaccinated and will be spayed and microchipped before going to her new home. Meet Kismet – A Resilient and Loving Companion Looking for Her Forever Home Kismet is a stunning 1-2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog with a heart as big as her beautiful personality. She also happens to be deaf, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit! This sweet girl found herself in a crowded Central Valley shelter, on the verge of giving birth. Perhaps being deaf was a small blessing in such a loud and overwhelming place—but it was still a frightening experience for her. Thankfully, Lucky Dog Rescue stepped in, and Kismet was whisked away to a loving foster home where she could safely raise her newborn puppies. Kismet was a wonderful, devoted mom, and now that all her puppies have found their forever homes, it’s finally her turn. Kismet is great with other dogs. She enjoys playing with the younger dogs in her foster home and is respectful of the senior dog. She’s housebroken, has mastered the dog door, and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. Like many young dogs, she can be a bit mischievous—she’s been known to chew on things she shouldn’t—but she’s learning to redirect her energy toward appropriate chew toys. On leash, Kismet walks well but can be a little cautious in new environments. She’s shy when meeting new people and needs time to warm up, but with patience and kindness, she blossoms into a loving, affectionate companion. Once she trusts you, she’ll shower you with cuddles—yes, Kismet is a snuggler! Highly food-motivated, Kismet knows “sit” and is learning additional hand-signal commands.
