Story
Meet Gumigoo (Gumi, Gumibear, ) Currently in Buxton, ME Gumigoo — also known as Gumi, Gumibear, or Gumbo — is a handsome young Border Collie with the perfect mix of athletic ability and affection. Border Collie Mix - Weight: 33 lbs- Neutered - 2.5 years old Health: Up to date on vaccinations • Heartworm negative • On monthly prevention Personality: Gumi is a true cuddle dog He loves to snuggle, nap with his people, and will happily sleep on your bed or in your lap if allowed. At the same time, he respects personal space when asked. He gets along very well with his foster’s female Aussie and would likely do well with other dogs after a proper introduction. He has not been tested with cats. He has excellent house manners, is fully house-trained, and is trustworthy in the home. Training & Intelligence: Gumi is very smart and eager to learn He already knows several commands: • Sit • Wait • Leave it • Place (very reliable) • Recall (“come”) is still a work in progress He is highly food-motivated, which makes training productive and fun. Activity & Play: Gumi loves to run, play, and chase toys He enjoys fetch and would likely excel in agility or other dog sports. A large, secure fenced yard is strongly recommended. He has a strong prey drive and is highly alert to movement. He will bark at chickens, bicyclists, delivery trucks, and machinery. Fence-running can occur once he becomes stimulated and can be hard to interrupt. A quiet home on a low-traffic or dead-end road would suit him best. Crate & Travel: Gumi is crate-trained but does not require one at home. He travels best when contained in a covered crate with music playing Because he reacts to outside activity, window coverings or film can help reduce barking triggers. Additional Notes: • Early riser (typically 5:30–6:00 AM) • Generally friendly with people, but not perfect with everyone • Caution recommended with young children • May jump during greetings; consistent cues like “sit” or “place” help • Nervous at the vet and may need sedation or pre-visit anti-anxiety meds Ideal Home: Gumi would thrive with: An active, experienced owner A large fenced yard A quiet environment with minimal outside stimulation Consistent training and structure Adults or families with older children Gumi is an affectionate, intelligent companion who will shine in the right home — one that appreciates both his loving nature and his working-dog instincts. If you think Gumigoo is the a perfect fit for you and your family please submit our adoption application at the link below. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There are some additional fees: $20 microchip transfer fee to register and transfer him to his new furever family. ##2560186##

Story
Meet Monty Monty is a 2-year-old Border Collie who came to us as a stray from San Joaquin County, California — and he is about as sweet as they come Handsome, tall, and around 40+ lbs, Monty turns heads wherever he goes. This boy adores his people and bonds deeply. Once you’re “his person,” he’ll happily stick by your side like a loyal shadow He does well with most other dogs when introduced properly and especially enjoys the company of female dogs. Monty has been getting along great with his foster brothers and sisters and would likely thrive with a confident canine buddy to show him the ropes Monty loves walks, hikes, and anything active — he’d make a fantastic companion for someone with property or an outdoorsy lifestyle But he also has a wonderful “off switch” once his exercise needs are met and is perfectly happy to relax near his humans Because he may not have had much structure or socialization early in life, Monty is experiencing lots of “firsts” in rescue. He takes new things in stride and is simply grateful to be with someone who cares He walks fairly well on leash but will benefit from continued practice and exposure to build confidence in public. Monty will thrive with a home that offers: An experienced handler familiar with herding breeds A secure fenced yard Someone home most of the time Patience and commitment to continue his training A responsible, loving environment Bonus points if you have: Another dog (especially a female) An active lifestyle A home where Monty can be included in daily life Monty rides nicely in the car , is house-trained, learning the crate, and truly wants to please. He has a soft, gentle demeanor and a huge heart — he just needs guidance and a family willing to help him blossom Monty is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and ready to find his forever home Could that be with you? Come meet Monty — your loyal adventure buddy and cuddle companion all in one If you think Monty is the a perfect fit for you and your family please submit our adoption application at the link below. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There are some additional fees: $20 microchip transfer fee to register and transfer him to his new furever family. ##2675444##

Story
Dillon was 1.5yrs young when we adopted him from Milpitas Humane Society in 2019. He had an ear infection being treated at the time. Recently it came back. Besides that he is happy and healthy. We live with 3 children (2 teens and a toddler) and Dillon is very gently with them and is always excited to see them coming home from school. Unfortunately we are relocating and downsizing and overall don’t have time and can not afford taking him to the vet for his ear infection due to one of our children going under heart surgery which is putting us in a difficult time financially. New home we are planning to move in does not allow “large” dogs. I am very heartbroken writing this post but I am hoping to find my Dillon a good home that has the time for him.

Story
Clover is a 2yo female spayed 30lb cattle dog mix. She is crate trained, walks beautifully on a loose leash, and is housebroken. She does great with other dogs and she really would benefit from living with another more confident dog to follow. She is non-destructive in the house but can be a creative collector of items she stashes lol. She might be fine with an indoor only cat. Please no young children or apartments. She’s a very sweet girl, skittish until she trusts you, but is very sweet and not aggressive. She will make a  great companion to a patient person and your other dog!
