This sweet, sweet girl came to us from Turlock Animal Services with five tiny babies she was nursing. Her She has been an amazing mama and has taken such wonderful care of her puppies. Now that her little ones are grown up, it's time for this loving girl to find a family of her very own! We're not sure on a breed (Turlock had her as a Collie mix), but we think Heeler or Border Collie mix is a good guess. She has that small frame. She is very young-probably only about a year old-and is a nice-sized girl weighing approximately 32 pounds. From the moment she arrived, she has been incredibly sweet and affectionate with our staff. She has been such a wonderful guest at the shelter, and we think she is going to make an absolutely wonderful family companion. Because she came to us as a stray, we don't know her complete history, so we don't know how she feels about cats or children. She is wonderful with our staff and other dogs! She is vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped, so she's ready to go home! Her adoption fee is $350, which helps us cover the cost of her care while she waits for her forever family. After everything this sweet mama has done for her babies, she deserves a family who will love and spoil her just as much as she has loved and cared for them. This handsome pup was brought in while still nursing with their Mama, Duchess. Mama dog is listed as a Smooth Collie mix and based on puppy's looks, we feel Dad may have had Akita in the mix. Puppy will likely grow into medium size dog. We have started this little one on their first puppy shots and the litter will go over on 9/29 for spay/neuter. Our staff and volunteers have spent lots of time with the baby to make sure to socialize early. If you would like to start off with a new puppy, come out for a meet-and-greet. Chowder is a happy, fun-loving boy with loads of love to share. He loves to spend his day playing with his people, other canine companions, and a ball. Chowder loves to play fetch, though he isn't always great at giving it back. Chowder craves human attention, and begs to go on walks. He would do best in an active household. Chowder does well off-leash. he is inquisitive, and likes to check things out, but comes back when called. Chowder would not be a good fit for a house with cats. Nonetheless, all Chowder really wants is a human / humans and home to call his own, and he will delight whoever is lucky enough to take a chance on him. His DNA test is a mix of many breed types. Mostly Husky Cattle dog and Terrier. What a unique mix! 1/27/25: Urgent. Romeo needs a new foster home or foster to adoption home. His adopter from March 2021 have a toddler that Romeo is fearful of and now they are expecting a 2nd baby and move to a new house. Romeo needs a adult home and older kids are fine. He loves his walks and lounging at home with his family. Sad they need to rehome him after almost 4 years. They do not want to keep him sep with baby gate since he wants to be near them. 8/5/24 Poor Romeo now needs a new adult forever home. His current home adopted him March 2021 but they now they have a new baby that is crawling. Romeo did well with new baby-dog training with a trainer but recently he guarded his toy from the toddler when she tried to pick up. He did a correction nip to her heel but no injury. He was correcting her like another dog. The couple have set up baby gates and following the trainer's tips but feel it would best if he can be rehomed to adult or older kid home. He loves his daily walks. Prefers to be the only dog at home. Romeo has been thru training. Been eating healthy fresh food mix to his kibble. Up to date with his annual vet care. 4/5/25 Romeo (Koji) is boarding with a trainer. He bonds to person and loves petting and being brushed. He wants to follow and be with the person. He can climb a 8 ft chain link fence in just a minute or so if left alone. He will try to do this to follow person. Prefer to be inside home with person and be your BFF. Original updates from 2021 below: We rescued Romeo from a distant shelter. He was found with metal cable line tied to his collar. He is Sandy's brother who we rescued last week. Romeo arrived at the shelter days later. The shelter was closed Friday to Monday so he was very happy to get out of his kennel on 2/16/21. He is very friendly wiggly happy and a sweetie. Was calm riding in the car with a car safety harness. Great with other dogs. He did great at his vet exam. Like Sandy everyone adores him. Romeo is already doing great at his foster home with another dog at home. Loved his long walk. His foster home is active and will hike/jog him daily for 3-5 miles. Romeo will love healthy foods/treats home training dog friends daily exercise and TLC. We are not sure of his breed mix but has both Husky and Jindo qualities. Romeo has a fluffy tail and very soft coat. Romeo will not be ready for about 2 weeks or more while he settles at his foster home and we try to line up his neuter surgery. He will need an experienced and active guardian. No cats since he does want to chase cats on walks. Romeo has adjusted quickly to his foster home. He is very loving and full of energy.. He will definitely need an active family and daily exercise. We are working on fetch and he’s almost got it down! Loves squeaky toys and tennis balls. He loves to give cuddles and is a very sweet boy. Sometimes he can be a bit unaware of his own size and strength but he is still young. He needs a lot of training to be a better walker. The pulling on walks can be an issue but nothing proper training can’t solve. We are working on potty training. Once he gets neutered that will help with the marking problem. He most likely would not do well in a home with younger children because he is a bit clumsy and still does the puppy biting thing (Understandable because he is still young). No children under 10 years. Despite his size Romeo is a really good lap dog who loves belly rubs and cuddles. He does just fine with other dogs of all sizes. As far as cats he seems triggered by cats on our walks. I don’t know how he would do in a home with a cat. He sleeps comfortably in the crate at night and doesn't seem to mind it.November 2, 2026, 1:25 pm

Linus is part of Charlie Brown Litter. Holly mom is French Bull Dog /Boston Terrier mix. 2/16/24 DNA test results: Dad was a Cattle Dog 40% and 9% Border Collie. They should be medium size adults and smart. Holly was abandoned at a distant shelter and was very pregnant. Linus' DOB: 12/1/23. Once we rescued Holly and she arrived at her foster home within 2 hours she went into labor and gave birth to 5 puppies. 2 girls and 3 boys. Whew! Just in time. All the pups and mom did great at their foster home. Home raised healthy lovable and social. The 5 pups are now learning at their next foster home for puppy training. All are playful snuggly and lovable. We do not know what they are mixed with. They seem larger than Frenchie pups and have tails. We will start to review applications Jan 20th. Puppies will be 8 weeks old on Jan. 27th and will get their first vaccinations and deworm. Need home with attached backyard. More info. to come on each puppy's personality. 1/24/24 Update: The 3 boys are fairly similar all playful and slower than the girls. Linus and Snoopy are a little more timid but get more playful when riled up by Brody. All love attention and to be held. They all did very well getting their first shots and these puppies are extremely smart and well behaved for such young puppies. They are learning sit and not to bite and are all doing very very well. They will make wonderful family pets for someone. Their temperament is fantastic gentle playful and sweet. 2/9/24 Update 10 weeks old: Patty is definitely the smallest with smallest paws. Snoopy and Linus are about the same size 12 pounds and Patty is 10 lbs.. I think they will be medium sized dogs. Snoopy and Linus are slower and calmer. Patty is spunky and more independent and curious and a little more Frenchie personality . All learning crate training. Few accidents on pee pads now. They will hold to go out to backyard for potty biz. 3/1/25 Update: Linus is older kid friendly. He loves to get cuddles and loves belly rubs. He poops and pees in backyard. He likes to play with his brother Charlie. They enjoy running and playing with each other. He likes to go for a walk. He is trained to be in a crate to sleep. Able to understand instructions: come sit walk wait walk with me. In English and Hindi. Linus loves all varieties of dog friendly fruits and vegetables. Loves long drives. Basically he just loves to stay with family. Need experienced guardian to guide him. 5/2/25 Update: Linus needs and wants routine home. He gets very nervous with change. At his foster boarding home and trainer after a day or two he is great with large dogs and they run/play. However he is reactive to new incoming dogs into their home. He does fine on walks and did fine at our showcases with new people and other dogs. 7/11/25 Foster Home Update: Linus needs a new foster home due to previous foster home's travels. He is now in a boarding/training foster home as we search for adopter or foster to adopter. He is smart and learning all commands. He is social friendly and great with all dogs and people. Lovable and very sweet once he adjusts. Loves running and playing with the adult big dogs and teen pups. Prefers to have someone around. Did great with vet exam and everyone adores him. CATS: Tama vet has an office cat that has walked around him and he didn’t seem to care.November 2, 2026, 1:25 pm

Dancer was left at a distant shelter as a under-aged puppy at 6 weeks old. He was dirty and timid so the shelter put him with Prancer cattle dog mix puppy also 6 weeks old. We rescued both of them and now they are doing great at their hero puppy foster home. They will get a great start since their foster home is also a trainer. Both are playful and adorable. Dancer seems to be the more outgoing one. More info. to come as they relax and learn. Dancer is more outgoing than Prancer Watch a video from first 2 hours at their foster home. So cute! Update from Foster Home 1/3/25: Dancer has grown quite a bit and he is quite a busy guy. More active. He likes to cuddle but he also will wiggle out of your arms if he is full of energy. He can climb over the 2’ dog puppy pen. No cats. He has a confident and maybe sport dog type of personality. 10/30/25 Update: Poor Dancer is now 1 year old and needs another foster home due to the foster home's 5 year grandson that visits often and even though Dancer grew up with kids coming over he now gets to excited and play nipped the grandson's ear. No broken skin but of course scared the kid and fh. Dancer needs a adult foster home that can guide him and understand cattle dog behaviors. Continue training. In the past he did attend a dozen puppy socials at Zoom Room. Great with other dogs. Now he has teenager energy and can get to excited in play. Need to guide him to calm and listen to commands.
