Becca, spayed female, 3 Years old, 35 Lbs. If you would like to give BECCA a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application About Becca: Becca is a passionate and lively girl, enthusiastic with food and toys. She is attached to humans by nature; loves tummy rubs and giving kisses, even around strangers. She could be a little shy when approached by strangers, but would not take long for her to respond passionately. She is friendly to adults and children alike; shares food and toys with other dogs, and never engage in fight with other dogs; very well behaved, not a chewer or barker; also enjoys her daily walks and car-ride. Becca is obedient and enjoys being around people, will surely make a great companion pet. Becca’s rescue story: Becca was rescued out from a ditch by the volunteer on her daily walk. Becca’s seven siblings were also found nearby. Because that area is an industrial park, banked by a storm drain, with heavy trucks in and out all the time, hardly an environment where young puppies can survive! Therefore, the volunteer posted a plea for adoption on line for these vulnerable puppies. The rescuer responded and placed the puppies with foster families while start preparing them for their forever homes. Story
Meet Balton — a gentle, 2-year-old Collie mix with a heart full of love just waiting to be discovered. Found stray in the Central Valley, Balton came to us a little unsure of the world, but every day he’s blooming into the sweet, affectionate dog he was meant to be. Balton is timid with new people at first, but once he feels safe, his big, tender heart shines through. He forms deep bonds and loves quietly and completely — a true loyal companion in the making. He’s wonderful with other dogs, and during a recent sleepover he did amazingly well with cats, too! This boy has a calm, gentle energy that makes him easy to be around and so rewarding to love. Balton is ready for a patient, kind home that will give him the time and reassurance he needs to fully settle in. In return, he’ll give you the sweetest trust, devotion, and companionship. If you believe in underdogs and love watching them blossom… Balton is your boy. 💛🐾

Story
Cowboy was rescued from the side of the road in a suspected dumping situation. He was sweet but cautious and there was evidence he had been tied to a wire fence with a rope that he had chewed through. Cowboy was able to be picked up and carried to the car where he rode anxiously to a vet to get him checked for a microchip. With no microchip found, lab tests were done to check his health. He had no issues come up, his age is estimate 1-3 years old, he is unneutered and around 33 lbs. Cowboy then went to a ranch in Lafayette for fostering and possibly as a forever home. Unfortunately, his high prey drive toward small livestock led to the ranch being a poor fit so Cowboy is looking for a new home. He is very sweet, so far good with people, dogs and children. He has no shots yet. Cowboy would do well in a home alone or only with dogs. Due to being dumped he is still nervous and will take time to adjust, but he would make a great addition to any family.

Story
Current Location: Korea 🇰🇷 ♡ 🧡 Meet Ma-eum A gentle soul learning to love again Ma-eum spent his early years tied outside on a farm, living in fear. He was abused by a male owner and frightened by children who threw balls at him. Because of that, he is still afraid of men, loud playground sounds, and the sight of bouncing toys. But despite all this, Ma-eum has the gentlest heart. For the past two years, he has been living in a patient and loving foster home. He has made slow, steady progress — on his terms — and is now ready for the next chapter of his life. 🧬 Personality Ma-eum is a quiet, thoughtful boy with a soft energy. He feels safest around gentle women with warm voices, and he truly thrives in calm, peaceful homes. He may keep his distance from men indoors, but sometimes shows more courage when outdoors. He isn’t the kind of dog who will run into your arms — but with time and patience, he’ll follow you anywhere. He enjoys peaceful walks, nosework games, gentle pets, and long naps by your side. He doesn't bark much, and he waits quietly when left alone after a short adjustment. 🏡 At Home ✅ House-trained (prefers peeing on vertical surfaces — his foster can provide wall-to-floor pads) ✅ Good with calm dogs (interested and social but may growl at overly excited dogs) ✅ Neutral to cats (no strong prey drive) ✅ Tolerates children (nervous around fast movements but never aggressive) ✅ Excellent in the car ✅ Loves brushing and gentle touch 🚫 Afraid of balls and squeaky toys — he prefers games with treats instead 💛 Ma-eum is looking for… A family who will let him set the pace. Someone who doesn’t expect instant cuddles but understands how meaningful it is when a shy dog chooses to stay close. Ideally, a female adopter or a quiet household with gentle energy. 📦 Foster home can provide pee pad setup 📍 Adoption includes interview & home check 📩 If Ma-eum’s story touched your heart, we’d love to tell you more. He’s been waiting a long time for someone who sees past the fear — and into his true, beautiful heart
